      Go single, a lot less things to go wrong and you will probably want to go big single later on anyway

    Hi Emilia!
    I totally know and feel what you are talking about. My hobby is building cars more or less from scratch and my day job is fixing cars that I know nothing about and solving problems with cars that I don't know how to solve... So I find myself having one of those what the hell am I doing moments all the time! What I'm doing with those situations is motivating myself to become GOOD at what ever the subject in that situation is and reading all I can find of information until I reach a good understanding of what I'm dealing with. You can never have enough information and knowledge, so learning to love to learn new stuff and never stop learning is the real trick in this game! Keep going and never give up on anything or anyone. We are all just people and people makes mistakes and making mistakes is the most valuable knowledge cause then you know at least one way that does not work and that is actually a step forward.
    Hope you have a great time in Germany, enjoy your trip! Would have been awesome to drive down to meet you, but unfortunately I have to much to do these days to take the 12 hour drive down from Norway. And thanks for liking my build on Instagram a little while back, means a lot! :-)
    Oh BTW on the single/twin turbo issue... when having doubts about turbos... go huge blower instead and enjoy the low end torque ;-)

    What makes your blog is that you are honest and put it out there who you are. It takes more than just cool cars and a face for tv to keep something like this going. You do a great job of putting your personality out there, like your outtro or riding on the rear deck of a lambo eating food. Thanks for putting it out there. It's fuel to the fire for me to get my projects done.

    Emilia you do a great job of showing what you are doing. If you've never worked on a 6.4 powerstroke (as an example) I'm not going to expect you know the ins and outs of the engine. You know a fair bit about engines but not a single person knows everything about every one. Learning is part of the process of working on cars and with each new platform you broaden your knowledge and learn tricks along the way. There's probably not a single person following along on an rb swap into an s13 (s14?) So if you make a mistake and find out you were wrong it's no huge deal it's just learning. Keep up the great work and don't stress out too much about not knowing exactly what you are doing with this engine and have fun with it. That's what the car hobby is about really. Having fun with friends learning new things and building cool shit!

    ECREW love always. You got this, it wouldnt be as much fun if it was super easy.
    Single turbo would probably be best but either way its a win cause it is an RB26 in an S13. Such a rad project.
    And as a guy learning to wrench on BMW motorcycles to me discovering new things and figuring out how different manufacturers do things is awesome.
    Plus you cant go wrong wrenching with friends, Vlogging with your friend and making dreams come true.

    Hi Emilia, never, never, never feel bad about not knowing how to do something. I give you full credit for your determination to learn and get better and with your support there at the shop I have now doubt that you will succeed in whatever you do. As someone said in an earlier comment, in some ways you are teaching us. Love the shows, it always looks like you and the crew have some laughs along the way and that’s how it should be.     That got deep quick, but stress less. I enjoy watching this stuff and other similar car channels, because it helps me learn (even if it's a little), it's entertaining and based on something I (and most of us, if not all of us here) enjoy. You've got 100 times more knowledge on this stuff than I probably ever will, so even if you're learning, there's others out here like myself who are learning too, and we know a shit tonne less. Keep at it and don't be disheartened.

    Don't get burnt out on always working on projects, and never be afraid of asking someone for help... pride isn't worth messing up tons of work just because you wanted to do it all yourself. Keep up the positive!

    Run the single turbo but add in the extra space a small supercharger with a split pipe so you can run some of the pressure to keep the turbo spooled so that there is no lag. I ran a setup like this on an 86 Mazda 626 GT. It was sick! When you put your foot in it the acceleration was instant and you were pinned to the seat. Oh and gorgeous there is no shame in not knowing what you're doing just in pretending to know so kudos for being honest and keep learning.

    Go with single. The duals are known to cause intake turbulence, and as you said, choke breathing below the level of what a single would provide. The option (if the dollars are available) would be to go to one of the available aftermarket higher output singles that would allow you to go to a breathing boost of about 1.3 times the CFM of a stock single without inducing turbulence.

    Hey! Emelia, great video! I'd go with the single turbo for the simplicity of maintenance, durability of the build, reliability of fewer things to muck things up and the extra power only burns thru the tires, engine, gas and 💰, not to mention, faster. Far better to be cruising down the California coast in cool convertible than in a gas station or garage every other day! Hope you have a great time in Germany! It's where my R was built!     I dont know hardly anything about RB motors... With that in mind don't let it frustrate you because you have to stop and keep looking things up or stopping to go read something to learn. That is what makes everything worth it in the end. When you are done and can say I helped put this together it will make it all worth it. Also maybe showing you work through the stuff and trying to figure things out may help someone else out there doing the same thing or maybe give them enough motivation to keep pushing thru on their own project. It can be good to see the struggle so people may understand all the true work and struggle that goes into something like this. Take a nice break enjoy Germany and then come back to it.

    you should have no problem learning, you got a giant fan base and a shop full of people to help support you and teach you. Most people don't have that sort of support and still manage to build cars completely by themselves and get it all figured out you just got to take it one step at a time.

    I would go for a single turbo. Less Components in the engine bay but more stuff to create before the engine ready for startup. If you stay for 2 Turbos everything is nearly plug and play (replacing the broken parts and maintenance).
    I subscribed to your channel because you are not the absolut pro. I can learn something while watching your videos and see how complicated a build really is. This is way more important for me than someone says "yeah this is the rb26 with single turbo swap and this parts and bla".

    Single turbo. Easier packaging. More room. Better heat management. I've had well over 1K whp with single on a 2JZ. RB's have notoriously bad, failure prone oil pumps. The cheapest insurance is an Accusump, oil reservoir. Titan make a oil pump upgrade that's around $1300. The accusump and a hobbs switch in the block will help to keep the motor alive when the stock pump gears break.

    Food for thought: explaining/teaching things to others has been shown to dramatically improve retention. So no need to worry about learning while recording.
    As for turbo: Single because simpler = better imo, and I'm always in favor of increasing reliability.

    I am a curious person. I take interest in almost anything and everything, but I am still young (18)... I have a lot to learn, however I can offer you some advice that has allowed me to avoid any kind of self-discouragement:
    *1)* You need to be smart, smart enough to know just how much you don't know.
    *2)* Use your head - be logical, sensible, and always express caution.
    *3)* Remember that there is nothing wrong with not knowing something, as long as you are honest with yourself and others about it.
    Those of us that can will help you wherever possible, and the rest will hopefully learn alongside you *:)*
    P.S
    I was thoroughly looking forward to Sean's bit of the vlog! It was unfortunate that the mic was off.
    I think that next time you are in the shop, you should hand him the camera and let him take over for a bit! I know and can fully sympathize with the fact that he is a little camera shy, but when he does get in front of the lens he really shines!

    Sequential rear mount twin. Faster spool with the advantages of the larger single. go! Also: "Pony Tail Time" and "PTT Time"... I still feel like we are adding a "T." No?

    8:15 The puller should be flipped so the bolt heads are against the flat side of the puller arms. That puts less side stress on the bolts.

    It's Z garage, there is a guy on YT that is fabing a kit with the 2015 irs Mustangs 8.8 to install in the Z's. to handle the power. Calls for custom axle shafts.

    Hi, honestly depends. Hear me out. Single turbo is fun and probably more reliable. But twins give a better power band thru out low to high rpm. What is the motor going to be used for is the best solution. Drag? Single turbo, track I would go twin. Worked for me best. Have fun either way. Love the vids keep em coming!

    Cool statements today! Keep motivated and feet grounded. I'm working on cars for more than 30 years and doing it just for fun, I'm still learning. Don't get wet at the Ring, seems like wheather is gonna be nasty on the weekend... I got wet for 23,5 hours as a mechanic at the 24hrs in 1995. Was still great!! Enjoy!!

    Emelia dear. Building project cars are both fun and educational. For the track car build with the RB in it i have serious concern. Please hear me out. You have mentioned that the s13 is going to be a grip race car. That in itself is bothersome as its a convertable. But that isnt what worries me the most. What worries me the most is not once have you or anyone else made mention to any kind of GCR (general competition rules) . you order all these parts to build a car to go as you say circuit racing and noone has even picked up the rules book to find out what you can or cannot do. Even building a track day non competition car you still need to keep the car safe and built to a point where the car will be classified wil other like speed potential cars. Its not any sort of fun to build a car that is half the speed of the class of car that the s13 would be grouped with for track days for a multitude of reasons and likewise over build and not be able to run in any class at all. Now convertable cars can be very fast on the track and can be very sexy at the same time. Just look at an SCCA E Production FC rx7 race car or SCCA Ep or FP miata. Both drop tops both very fast both very sexy. Anyway just be careful and please pick up a GCR page threw it and learn what can and cannot be done. Also in the GCR there is many helpful items on how to build the car safe and leagle. Then order your parts then engineer the car the execute the project. Much less time and money and head and heart aches will happen and a much better car will be the end result.

    You learn by doing. No one starts tinkering with cars knowing everything. Keep getting in there, doing what you can, push yourself to go further, and most importantly, have fun. Keep up the good work.
    Also, as far as twins or single.. what is the goal/purpose of the car? Track, street or both? What is the target horsepower and torque? Before a motor is built and tuned, these questions should always be answered.

    Go single, so you don't have to do double the plumbing etc.. RB single mid-pressure turbo goes a long way for for longevity for the engine, also less hassle

    Single definitely...but, you shouldn't feel insecure about the videos. In fact, the research and process you go through is as important as anything else you show. People can benefit greatly from learning how to get answers about things in their own builds. So don't hesitate to show those processes, that is really the interesting parts for most of us.     Hey it’s cool you don’t know it all everyone has to learn somewhere. Some people learn good with text books others learn great by hands on learning. Just remember your putting your self out there and learning how to do it an at the same time inspiring others to do the same as well like my lil sister I sent a couple of your videos her way. She’s always had a interest in cars but thought it was a boys thing till watching your channel now she asked more questions wanting to get involved with my build cuz you showed her girls can do it an not to be afraid of getting a lil greasy.     Single turblow cuz:
    Simpler design which makes tuning and maintenance a breeze
    Less heat, cooler boosted air temps
    Large single housing flows better than two smaller more restrictive housings
    Half as expensive as a twin turbo setup (my GTX4088R was expensive enough lol)

    On Mighty car mods they went with one larger turbo because doing the twin setup was a "nightmare" apparently. I don't know anything but
    regurgitating their stuff, but I love their channel... ...too.

    Hey, names Dom. have to say love your videos, but I hate seeing you get down on yourself like that. don’t get discouraged, your learning and following your passion so what’s there to be discouraged about. I’m doing the same thing with my mk3 Jetta first euro car, first real build. puts me out of my realm of comfort but I love it and plan on turboing it myself. Keep doing what your doing! Your a beautiful person and killing it out there.
    Side note: I would run a single turbo. Definitely if for drift just because iv always heard the same thing twin turbos choke can cause lag and possibly worse. with the single you’ll have better control with consistency and power, not over power. Pulse if you run boost by gear. It’ll just smooths it out so just food for thought.

    i think it depends what you want to use the car for in the long run. If you want somthing very driveabull with a very smooth powerband go with a twin turbo set up one smaller and one bigger so you get fast spool low down and then the bigger takes over . But if its mainly a drift car then a single is much simpler to do the only downside is the bigger you go the more lag you will get but i suppose in drifting this does not matter as i assume -your always in boost(i dont drift so i dont know lol)

    get a small single turbo , one with a quick spool and low boost 7-9psi. because the car is light, with a faster spooling turbo the acceleration will be swift and fairly even

    Single turbo cleaner looking less oil feed and return lines plus as you said twin turbos tend to fight one another when they spool soo single for the nice even flow of boost from the turbskie

    Single turbo, you are going to have to live with your decision and you might as well keep that part of your life simple.
    Also, life is going to take you out of your comfort zone from time to time. The way you handle it is up to you but me personally, I like to take it head on. You never stop learning.

    I have no idea why I watch your vids? But I have been for so long now. I'm so not in your demographic. A 52 your old construction worker that has old work trucks he works on and restores? I guess there is something so cool about your drive,.... the passion you have for learning about your cars and the different aspects of your hobby. . You actually motivate me to keep going on my projects... so I guess I answered my own question. Keep up the good work and the great attitude. It's awesome to see a young female hold her own in what is typically a male environment. I'd love to see you have your own shop one day building things for customers. Float on young lady , you're an inspiration and a excellent role model for all young people not just girls.

    Coming from a mechanics point of view. It's tough to toss yourself in the frying pan trying to figure it out step by each. That said it's the best way to learn. Get a book find some build notes on other cars and RBs and jump in. Ask questions learn from other and make mistakes, your going to and that's fine. Always progress never look back and keep learning

    Personally I think a single dual ball bearing like a 6464 or 6262 would work well but just my opinion. keep it real Emilia

    keep doing to reach the end goal.
    And run a smaller single turbo, less lag.

    Single turbo because like you said more airflow and itll look cleaner and be way easier to deal with.

    I'm running a single turbo on my rb26 so go single make more power and it will be easier to work with

    Single turbo. Way cleaner and a lot more simple set up.. And like you said more room to play. And by the way your doing great, learning is just as fun.

    Single. Way less complicated, and I heard they make more power. Also the newer single turbo won't lag like the original twin setup because of the ball bearings.

    I love how my twins drive and feel, so i ld stay with twins. Also you should at least upgrade the oil pump to n1 spec or better nismo or to ei oil pump to invest in a long live of the engine. The stock oil pumps are known to fail on higher rpm and also the short drive ones one the early rb26 cranks are not so good. People tend to go for biger crank drive s well if they have the short drive.

    Do a single (alberto)BIG BOOST turbo, more airflow like you said, more room for activities, and do boost by gear.

    I'm sure you don't really need the help with all the awesome guys (or girls) at RS Speed but in case you weren't aware Mighty Car Mods is doing an RB swap into a JDM 240Z and their videos are pretty good at explaining why they went single turbo and some of the other things they needed to correct on the RB to make it work for them, including why and how they removed that rats nest of vacuum lines Sean was showing you. Might be worth your time to watch some of their videos, maybe.
    Otherwise keep up the great content and remember if you aren't learning something new and exciting everyday you might as well be dead.

    Single turbo all the way. Runs slightly cooler, more effective, cost efficient, and like you said...more room to play.

    Single turbo for sure. No need for twin turbos in this build.

    Get the twins up and running, learn and understand from them, later on if more power is needed, swapping a single would be easier. At this point, you just wanna get it up and running, with all the new parts that you're gonna replace it with. Just talking from personal experience with my 2JZ-GTE.

    remember even with the best intentions if you push to hard anyone can get "burnt out" on working on cars. So whatever you do don't sweat the small things it will all work out in the end. #yolo I vote single turbo. Unless it's a factory dual turbo car it's never worth the extra work

    Single will be much less complicated as long as the standard ecu can run it. Otherwise if there in ok con, keep the twins and swap to single if they let go.
