Why face of the black people in the photo is censored?
For security reasons, as after the war ended Mugabe purged and attacked black soldiers of the regiment for being 'traitors'.

I get that their faces are painted so as to avoid recognition by ZANU govt but still their faces were hard to make out because of their natural born camouflage, now it feels they were not part of this great parade.

I've been trying to listen carefully enough to transcribe but being unfamiliar with the dialect makes it hard to figure out what I'm hearing. It's awesome but can't quite get it yet.

My dad worked with the soleux scouts in the Zimbabwean bush for 6 months back in the 1980's ,,

Thee were no Selous Scouts in 80s. They were the Rhodesian Selous Scouts not Zimbabwean. That was whole point. We were fighting against communist “ Zimbabwe “. And we were won the war. Fucking up Soviet Chinese NKorean communist trained terrorists. What we lost was the politics. And we weee thrown under the bus by British political trechery. Mugabe was their man so they got mining defence contracts. Including BMATT which is what your old man would’ve been. Sorry to break it to you but your labour govt.
