Most OEM factory fills are Lobrid coolant but for marketing purposes many Lobrid coolants are called OAT. *Many source coolant makers in NA have turned their IAT coolants into high pH Hybrids by adding some OAT to the chemistry to help the coolants be resistant to CAB flux overspray residual contaminates found in new aluminum cores using that manufacturing process. All of the Cummins Fleetguard IAT products have been tweaked but you need a lab to see the difference. Point is for straight talk about coolants Manufacturers/Vendors/OEMs are not going to go beyond a benefit to their own marketing.

I thought I ruined my vehicle when I noticed (after I poured) that the coolant already in my car was a different color than what the cashier gave me.

The water added to the system must be "Demineralized" and "Deionized" because otherwise it will be adding salts and ions that bring serious problems, mainly to modern engines that work at higher temperatures. Ordinary water contains salts and ions that produce electric current in the motor, interfering with the operation of the electronic control unit. i got a 30 year old european ford fiesta that has a 1600cc engine which is using a cast iron block with aluminium head. iv always used the recommended blue ethylene glycol coolant but that stuff has to be changed every 2 years. can this prestone be used instead if system is flushed out and will it actually go the 10 years it says?

Toyota not only build cars but produce the best universal coolant that is for all types of cars. Toyota being a humble manufacturer never claim anything but i certainly reccomend toyota coolant for your cars because i have been using it for years.None of the cars that i bought and sold over the years needed the engine to be rebuilt or overhauled.Yes.

most toyota's use red/pinkish coolants . The best bet would be call toyota and i have noticed its only few bucks difference when you buy from a dealer or an independent retailer, so its better to get it from toyota itself since those tundras aren't cheap vehicles

Use IAT or OAT without Silicate. IAT and OAT are corrosion inhibitors. Therefore, there are coolants without glycol usually used in race vehicles to maximize the cooling efficiency.

NOT TRUE. Yo cannot use OAT in older vehicles, as organic acids break the led solders and soft metals.

What happens if you mix these products?... if you have the 'wrong' coolant in a BMW... can you simply add more of the 'right' one?
Euro cars are way too finicky always stick to OEM type coolant for those. If you put the wrong type in then flush and fill as soon as possible.
