      Pasteurized tobacco has the lowest rate of cancer out of anything you use daily. They haven't linked snus and snus only to cancer ONE single time. There's always cigs or alcohol involved as well. You have to know the difference between American tobacco, and Swedish tobacco. American causes cancer, Swedish does not. Swedish tobacco is healthier than American coffee.

      @@AppalachianChaplin Yeah I agree I no longer buy anything tobacco related in the USA anymore and I live here. I buy all my snus from Sweden and I have never felt better after the switch. been using it for about 5 years now. Also I love Lundgren's Skane as my everyday snus. The big reason is how Sweden process and handles it's tobacco. The us dose so in a way that adds many carcinogens during the drying process as well as others.

    The point of the debate is this:
    In a perfect world no one would ever use substances that are addictive. But we do not live in a perfect world.
    For some reason, humans love the kick of nicotine. So why not give people the least harmful way of consuming it?
    If cigarettes would be erased, and snus took its place, it would literally save MILLIONS of lives every year.

    Snus causes less cancer but you can contantly have it under your lip thruout the entire day, causing an even more intense nicotine addiction. Also there's acid in the pouches that dissolve part of the inside of your mouth so the nicotine can get into your blood stream faster. The acid is (suprisungly) not good for your teeth. I'm swedish and when I was 16 three years ago pretty much all of my classmates were using tocacco free snus (it was legal for ages 16 and up). A few years later a lot of them couldn't even go a week without it and if they succeded they celebrated with more snus. They even got part time jobs to fund their habits. You get a higher head rush, and better ability to focus than smoking too. And you don't smell like a chimney everywhere you go so there's that. "Sweden low smoking rates is due to restrictions emplaced in the 90s" - That is a blatant lie!

    • @tartarosnemesis6227
      @tartarosnemesis6227 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +50

      The statement that Sweden's low smoking rates are due to restrictions implemented in the 90s is not entirely accurate. While it's true that Sweden implemented comprehensive tobacco control regulations in the 1990s, including the Swedish Tobacco Act in 1993 that banned smoking in public transport and public indoor places[4], the decline in smoking rates in Sweden began even before these regulations were put in place[4][7].
      Moreover, the low smoking rates in Sweden are not solely due to these restrictions. The use of snus, a smokeless tobacco product, is prevalent in Sweden and is thought to have contributed to the low rates of cigarette smoking[1][9]. Snus has been legally sold in Sweden since 1976 and is used as an alternative to cigarettes[10].
      Furthermore, the decline in smoking rates in Sweden has been a continuous trend over time, rather than a sudden drop following the implementation of restrictions[1]. Therefore, it's more accurate to say that the low smoking rates in Sweden are due to a combination of factors, including tobacco control regulations, the prevalence of snus use, and broader societal trends.

      Yeah, it’s bad enough when people feel the need to tell others who are addicted to dangerous substances things that they obviously already know, but the amount of people who fear monger about using snus, vapes, etc. as a harm reduction alternative to smoking is a whole other level of ignorance imo. It’s like if you went to the local needle exchange to tell all the opioid addicts “y’know that stuff can kill you, right?”, like, would you rather they die from untreated needle-borne diseases like hep-c or overdosing because they didn’t have any Narcan, instead of taking steps that might help them live long enough to actually get treatment? It’s like they’d rather have the smug satisfaction of being “correct”, instead of just letting people use incremental, common sense approaches that will most likely benefit them in the long run.

      No, studies are often inconclusive, and a few of the studies that was used ages ago to push back against snus had smokers in the test group as well as not researching specifically swedish snus (which is produced and created very differently from e.g what americans would call snus). It's the number 1 reason why snus isn't labeled as "deadly" but merely harmful.
      As for cancer rates, sweden has one of the lower oral cancer rates in europe despite all the snus that's consumed. And it's not like it's a new product either, it's been around since the early 1800's.

Not long after my mind was spinning and the lecturers croaky cockney accent wasn’t helping (part of the reason I took it to mellow out). It just would not let up until I went into the toilets and vomited. The dizziness almost disappeared immediately. Maybe it was because I had nothing that day but I will give it another try. This stuff looks very practical although somewhat sterile. I prefer the old way of spitting out reddish brown liquid.
