Wow! I have never watched any Namibian movie but this is soo awesome. A very emotional film, I went through all human emotions just watching this movie. Interesting how African languages are similar I even thought it was a Kenyan film since the name sounds similar to a Kenyan name Gatutura.

Bravo #TeamKatuturaTheMovie. Amazing story supported by excellent acting. That girl Odile Müller (esme) is something special. Also, as an actor with a bias for expression in African languages, I thought a mix of the same would have made it grittier and earthier. Not to take from the brilliance of it all. African cinema to the world.

Katutura is the name of Windhoek's township. Translated from Otjiherero it means something like 'The place where we don't want to live'.

The place where we do not belong..it came about during apartheid when black people were moved by whites from City centers to the outskirts of town far from services and town.
