You are correct, the main reason for FiberGlass for not getting popular was cost. Earlier the steel prices were very low and FiberGlass production was very less so the price gap was very high. But of late, steel prices have increased and production of FiberGlass has increased dramatically after Indian government has started using in its projects so now it has become economically viable.
Your observation is correct about usage in house construction. It cannot be used in vertical columns as its compressive strength is less but it can be used in flooring and other applications such as footpaths, retaining walls and swimming pools.

This can't be used for beams and columns where the BM and SF are max. Due to the poor ductility of FCG rebar, as shown there is no point of yield in stress and strain graph.
What we say FE500D or FE550D in TMT bar is the yield strength not the ultimate strength. But they saying >1000N/mm2 is the ultimate strength.
While designing we consider yield strength not the ultimate strength, so as a structural engineer I don't suggest this for structural members of critical sections.
May be we can use it for small structure and non important structure, not advisable for high rise building
Yes, this is not supposed to be used for vertical columns. It is more suitable for horizontal applications such as flooring, pathways and roadworks.

The Epoxy Resin bonding has its own Ageing .I know as I manufactured Decorative Design profiles .As a Contractor my bet is on with Steel only because it will not Age . May be used on NON Load bearing RCC .

I used to analyse this fibre rod in our PG Projects though it have high strength than steel we won't recommend this because incase of fire it will melt fast than steel

It has good bonding strength with concrete. You can use normal binding wire like TMT bars. At some places you can use plastic ties as well.

We have used tmt for more than 20 years, it never rusts immediately. Oxidation happens in open ambient conditions not in closed concrete packed conditions.

Tensile strength ok but how is deformed? I think this is ok for conoression structures definetely not for roof
You can not use it for any heavy industrial structures. You can use it for flooring application where risk is not involved. This is used in heavy fan handling structures where cooling of chemical water is required and in large corrosive environment.
For residential multistorey buildings, it is not recommended.

I am solar integrator ,I think we can use this profile for our ground mounted megawatt projects .how about the cost. How about punching holes for using our fasteners
Yes, this material is extensively used by Solar EPC folks. The holes can be easily punched here. You will save on paint and prime cost + this is lifelong rust-free!
My worry is that none of my network in south India is using these profiles , on megawatt scale. I am worried about the c bend and the wave formation cos of caving in .
We would recommend you to take a few profiles and do a test study and if you find it suitable, then go for larger orders.

Welding is not possible as it not metal but it can be fixed with nuts and bolts and epoxy adhesives like Araldite and Fevitite Rapid

We can use Fgc rebars for all non-load-bearing applications. Floors, retaining walls, roads, foot paths, precast works and many more.
Floor and Retaining wall are the structural members, it requires high yielding before it fails so it can't be used for this. But it can be used in railing, gate, fence where the load is negligible

Answer is in your question itself. Wherever you need tensile strength you can use it there. I think it will be more useful for low cost sheet roofing
1. Compressive strength is lesser than steel. In Rebars if compressive strength is 500 in steel, in Rebars it is 450. In FGC profiles, the compressive strength is 70% compared to same section in steel. The compressive strength reports for each FGC can be emailed on request.
4. FGC rebars can be bent during the manufacturing process. But as shown in the video, you can also use it along with steel for horizontal applications. This way you get the best of both worlds - high tensile strength of FGC rebars as well as the flexibility of steel.
