In the Bahamas for most of it, over 60 people worked on this video, but the underwater scenes were shot in Miami, Florida.
the scene on the boat and the beach were shot in the Bahamas. The green screen (her in the jeans) was shot in FL before they flew to the Bahamas.
Aaliyah was 22 years old when she died, twenty years ago this August.
The Dancing on water Scene & the underwater scene was filmed in Miami.

The whole video was shot in the Bahamas. They originally considered shooting it in Miami, but eventually opted to shoot the entire thing in the Bahamas. The scenes where they're dancing on the boat were filmed on August 25, 2001, which is the day she died.

There’s a lot of things that ppl don’t understand. First, her uncle is the one who messed everything up. Due to him never being able to stay with just one distributor. The first distributor was JIVE/BMG. Then he moved to Atlantic in 95. Then he went over to Virgin Records in 99 - 03. Then finally he went back to Universal around 04-05, before closing the label. Then he sold his entire catalog to an overseas music label that released “Ultimate Aaliyah.” So the publishing rights to her catalog is for lack of better words, lost. Because of all that moving around. The only thing her estate has is some of her unreleased music. Most of which belongs to the song writers and producers. I believe Tim n Missy own a few things, Sean Garrett, J Dub, Rodney Jerkins, all own a few songs or bits n pieces of stuff. I also heard that most of her unreleased material is unfinished. Songs that only have a hook, or a verse and hook, some are even demos with just her rough vocal (which I wouldn’t let anyone release because it’s a rough vocal).

I heard that before her death, she was going to record a collab with Jonathan Davis of Korn for the Queen Of The Damned movie. She was so good ❤ RIP to a queen of the R&B scene.
Jonathan Davis executive produced the soundtrack. She did record songs for it, but they chose to keep them and use them for the AALIYAH album instead. “What If” was one of those songs. Also, because the soundtrack was going to be all metal, they chose not to include her songs. I personally it would’ve been dope to hear her soft voice over a metal influenced hip hop track.
@@matthewharjo7512 Actually, they never got to work together because of their schedules. The timing of her recording for her album didn’t line up with when he was gonna be free to work with her. Around that time, and late in her career in general, she was really into the uk garage rock scene
She was also supposed to work with Beck on a song called “I Am Music”, but his verse was instead done by Static and Timbaland did a verse for the empty space left.

She first shot the video with green screen in Miami to make it seems like she was really dancing on the ocean then went to they went to the Bahamas to shoot the whole video the last shots she did was on the morning of her death was the beginning of the video then she took a nap and then woke up to dancing on the boat with the dance crew and that was the last shot they really did was dancing on the boat then she went for a little swim then she decided that she wanted to go home early because of the video wrapped early but she wasn't scheduled to go home until the next day I don't know why yall believe Jaguars story talking about that aaliyah had recieved a phone call on the day of her death I mean who told her that it was never proven that she recieved a phone call from somebody I don't believe what jaguar says she needs to stop spreading these stories and that's why jaguar music career had ended because no one wanted to work with her.

The beginning, first verse, chorus and most of the ending was in the Bahamas. The second verse and chorus was the green screen in Miami. This is a reaction video so I won't get into the many conspiracy theories. But like someone said: they have beautiful beaches in Miami. So did they really HAVE to go to the Bahamas?
