    Just in case anyone is interested, in Season 5 of "The Repair Show" a samovar which was a family heirloom was repaired. I found it fascinating which is what ultimately led me to this video. Never stop learning!

    تشکر.
    My grandmother left her Russian made samovar to me when she passed away 33 years ago. She loved it.
    I have never used it since then and few people who saw it were willing to buy it for a good price.
    I was thinking before selling or given it away, to use it for few times in order to celebrate my grandmother’s soul.
    Watching your video has given me the courage to get it out from the garage, clean it and use it. I hope, it is still a good quality and it would be safe to use it! Thanks again.

    You can also heat the samovar directly, with kindling. Traditionally, pine cones were also used as fuel.

    I was preparing some Turkish black tea and I've heard that I can prepare it with a "samovar" also, not just a double kettle. I looked it up and I've found this video. Such a cool technique. Thank you for creating and sharing this.

    My whole life I have been wondering how to use a samovar! Ever since I played with the decoration samovar my parents had in the living room. My mother has just asked if I would like to get it but it is with lead so it is only for decoration purpose.

    I inherited one from my mother.
    Tested it for lead and it came out positive.
    Is there a way to remove the lead coating
    and re-tin it or use some other coating?
    I would love to start using it.

    • @animalnutritionist
      @animalnutritionist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice to hear that you enjoy using Samovar to make tea. I don't know exactly how we can remove the lead coating... but that's a really good question. I'll search for that and let you know if I find anything. Have a great day.

    • @EFTusa
      @EFTusa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am thinking of taking it apart with a soldering torch.
      Melt and sand the lead solder off. Replace the lead coating with 95/5 lead free solder.
      It should be an adventure being that it was made in 1889.
      Then it should be fine to make tea.
      It makes hot water very fast and I want to use it without
      giving my friends lead poisoning.

    Hello there, how do you clean out the pipe of the samovar where you put the coal once you are finished using the samovar and its cooled down? do you empty and remaining water inside, then turn it over upside down to let anything remaining in the pipe so that its ready for its next use?

    • @animalnutritionist
      @animalnutritionist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Yes exactly. First, I would empty the water by opening the water tap of the samovar. Since it's the boiled water you can let it cool down and drink it later as drinking water. Then, I would turn the samovar over upside down to emty the pipe.
      Have a great weekend.

    • @animalnutritionist

      It depends on how long your charcoals burns off. Usually it stays warm up to 1.5 hours but if you add new charcoals and water you can use it for longer time
