Those Samantha Brown specials are what got me through my childhood Disney trip and deciding to visit again when I was in grad school. I fully blame her for my parks obsession!
I also remember watching Samantha Brown visiting both these resorts on her show Great Hotels! Always wanted to stay there someday maybe too. Still hoping.
The vibes at these hotels are top tier chill summer. They are immaculate and tied for first in relaxing and going with the flow style with old key west. Storm along bay's pool bar always has great drinks, staff, and music. Perfect vacation moods. 💙
You are not old. I was born decades before there was cable TV or flat screens. We had a black-and-white (on which I watched “The Wonder World of Color”, lol) until way past I left for college. I never got to go to Disney - my first time was with a work friend in 1982, and very seldom thereafter due to the minimal vacation days I got working at an American company.
We stayed at the Beach club randomly. We didn’t even know it was deluxe but somehow got and unbelievable rate that I’ve never seen again. I loved it! The location, food and pool were unbelievable
Yacht Club was a hidden gem until 3 years ago when prices SOARED to stay there and people started booking there. We love the YC!!!!! This upcoming stay is at Boardwalk just due to price point. My daughter and son in-law were upgraded to the Presidential Suite at YC back in 2017 when they got married. That was truly amazing!!!!!!
I’ve always been a Polynesian fan until we stayed at the Riviera. And I thought nothing could top it. Then we stayed at the Boardwalk. I absolutely loved these resorts 🥰🥰
To be honest, I'm glad that others rank it lower on the deluxe chain. This way, less crowding at my favorite resort that I always stay at. Prefer it like that
@dasuit yacht club by far my favorite. Contemporary up on club level w/ balcony facing MK & fireworks view. Those are my 2 favorite but YC is #1 in my opinion
We stayed at Art of Animation this past July for a week. Loved it. We went to BC and ate breakfast at Cape May with the kids for the character experience. I want to stay at BC but the price range is kinda crazy when we are gone 10hrs a day an the parks
We stayed at the Beach Club Villas once. The access to Epcot was outstanding, and we very much enjoyed breakfast at the Marketplace when we weren't eating in our room. Both the breakfast and dinner at Cape May Cafe were really awesome.
Yes. The answer is yes. 🤣🤣 I think of The Yacht Club as my third home because I stayed there so many times as a kid (and got married at the gazebo and stayed there during my wedding trip and Disneymoon :) ).
That’s so wonderful! We wanted to get married at the Yacht Club gazebo but it was being repaired at that time. We got married at Sea Breeze Point across the way at Boardwalk instead. I still look fondly at the gazebo. Such a beautiful resort.
@@alexisbk9576 Sea Breeze Point is a good backup. Our backup for rain was inside one of the Yacht Club ballrooms 😬 I was so worried in the back of my mind. It did rain on our wedding day but it cleared up for ours and a couple other weddings we saw before ours :)
I am really excited we just got reservations for the Beach club in August 2024. I went there a few times when I was younger but this will be my first trip back to Disney since 2017.
My first experience was BCV and I will always love the feeling of walking through the lobby doors to Crescent Lake and seeing the BW and the Friendship Boats. It was such an active experience. The cuts and changes of the last few years would have me reconsider whether or not to return. I used to hit HWS for some rides in the morning and then breakfast in Epcot. Park reservation and park hopper restrictions don’t allow that currently. Likewise the removal of some of the Epcot entertainment has removed to enjoyment of a quick pop in for a show.
I stayed at the beach club for my first ever trip to Disney at 2 years old in 2002. I haven’t stayed there since before the pandemic but I’m going for a few days later this month for my 24th birthday! We’re taking some family friends for their kid’s first visit (5 and 2) and I’m so excited to see them experience the magic ❤
Yes, yes I would stay. So much so that my family bought into DVC and chose Beach Club as our home resort. You are basically IN Epcot, right at the Boardwalk, walking distance to DHS and the best pool on property. Great food too (hello, Ale & Compass). We LOVE the Beach Club.
This is my favorite resort from this brand! I ❤❤❤ the pool area! Was just there on Mother’s Day week 2023 Saw and took pictures with Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck! Fantastic Beaches & Cream ice cream parlor for everyone in the family.
Actually ALL three Hotels there - the Yacht Club, the Beach Club, and the Boardwalk are ALL really nice and each has advantages. The Beach Club has the Cape May Buffet which may be the best in WDW, The Yachtsman Steakhouse may have the best steaks in WDW. Together they have the best Hotel Water Park/pool in Disney. On the Boardwalk - the best Disney Nightclub - JellyRolls is a great hangout. They are a short walk or Boat trip to the Back Entrance of Epcot or Hollywood studios too. You can easily walk between the three hotels. IF you have the money, they are hard to beat. HOWEVER if you do not have the money for them - Nearby are also the Dolphin and Swan that are both less expensive - have larger rooms than pure Disney hotels and there are good places to eat in them too. And while you cannot use the Water Park - you can get reservations at any of the Disney restaurants in the area. And there are a few good ones in Epcot too.
I can’t say enough about these resorts. We honeymooned at the Yacht Club Resort in 1991 and stayed there exclusively until 2002 when we purchased DVC. Our DVC home resort is right next door at the Beach Club Villas. They are very well laid out resorts with some of the friendliest staff on property. The Stormalong Bay water park is great for an afternoon away from the parks or even the quiet pools. You’re right outside of Epcot and Hollywood Studios is a short walk or boat ride away. The ride to and from Magic Kingdom is the longest, but not nearly as bad as from the All Star Resorts, Pop Century, Coronado Springs, or the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas. They are pricey, but in my opinion worth the cost for convenience and so many dining options. If you’re looking for similar, but not as expensive accommodations, the Boardwalk Inn and Villas are right across the lake. We do prefer the Yacht & Beach Club to the Boardwalk, but it’s really just a personal preference.😁
Key tip on water views! My father and I went on holiday and purchased a water view and we just ended up facing a tiny pool in the very back of the hotel 😅
Omg, AJ!!!! I DVRd all of Samantha Brown’s Disney Great Hotels episodes and watched them on repeat!! She was the Mother of Disney Vlogging!!! Your mention of her made my day.❤❤❤ You should interview her… Great vid, as always.
My fave Disney resort is the Beach Club. The prices have really gone up since I last stayed there in 2015- but they really have everything and it is wonderful to walk to EPCOT and short trip to Hollywood Studios. I also like the Boardwalk, but Beach Club has the best pool in Disney World.
We’ve stayed there more than a dozen times, it’s THE TOP Resort at WDW in our opinion. I wish we could stay every year. THE BEST. Especially the concierge (Club) level !!!
We love the Yacht and beach… we recently stayed at the Rivera and decided that yacht and beach is best for us. We use the minivans (lift) to get to and from MK, AK and DS. We will never stay anywhere else. ❤
I stayed in a Standard Room at the Beach Club at the end of January. I loved the proximity to EPCOT and the overall vibe of the resort was relaxed and happy. The lobby and other public areas were well maintained, so I was shocked to discover how in need of a refurbishment this resort was once I got upstairs. The hallways were dimly lit, with peeling wallpaper and scuff marks on the walls, and the carpets were stained and dirty. While my room was cleaner than the hallways, the furniture and soft goods definitely showed their age and need of replacement. Once Disney has completed the renovations to the BC Villas, I hope they will give the BC Resort some deserved attention, too.
I recently booked a package for next Spring Break. My first choice for a resort was Beach Club as I've always wanted to stay there. But when I checked the package price I passed as it was exorbitantly more than I wanted to pay. I booked at Riverside instead since it was half the price of Beach and Yacht. Maye another time for Beach Club if they ever offer a substantial discount on what they are pricing right now.
@christineschmidutz5057 if you don't mind my asking, why was it a step down? I stayed at POR at Christmas time with my toddler and i agree with you we LOVED it. I was trying to plan another couple trips since we have AP and thought Beach/Yacht might be a nice option just for the pool
We stayed at Yacht Club for 10 days in 2016 and loved it. Being able to walk to Epcot and walk or boat to Hollywood Studios (we did both) made it much more relaxing. I think we were also at the first stop for buses to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We spent some time at the Boardwalk area as well. We had a ground level room with a patio, and there was a bench not far away that we used to watch the fireworks at Epcot (the ones that went above the trees anyway). We made some great memories. ETA: Forgot about the pool! Best pool for families with kids by far.
You can't beat the location of Beach and Boardwalk. I love the convenience it is for my 2 favorite parks, plus they're basically the middle of property so it's not much longer to get to places like DAK or MK.
Love Samantha Brown shows. Stayed at Beach Club in 2008 that was a free upgrade because of issue with Disney reservation that WDWs representative did wrong. Would love to go back but NO WAY could I afford it now!
These rooms should only cost a maximum of $365 dollars a night !!!! It's sinful of Disney to make you pay x2.5 times more !!! They are not worth that much !

I'll never have the money to spare to go to anything labeled a "deluxe resort". I do love watching videos about them though. Going to Epcot in February and staying at a hotel in Kissimmee that costs less than 100 a night.
BC is close to Epcot. That is awesome That's it. That is the awesome part. Everything else was Meh or Boo 👎. Terrible food with limited availability & selection. No seating, closed early. The crowded pool had a not so great sand bottom. Was super looking forward to it and was really disappointed. You have to walk really far , through the hotel, dripping wet to get back to your room after using it. Not a fan. Much preferred Port Orleans
Unless you’re going with a group of adults who are splitting the price, I cannot even IMAGINE spending thousands of dollars *per night* on a hotel!! I’m sure it’s lovely, but phew!
Random question! I was there Memorial day weekend and fell in love with a castle cookie jar at the emporium but didn't end up going back to buy it. Is there any way i can go about getting it? Im desperate 😅
The only reason not to stay at Yacht or Beach is if you plan to do Magic Kingdom more than the other parks. Otherwise it is hands down the best Deluxe property.

Yes! Awesome pool, 5 min walk to Epcot, and you can bring your fur baby with you to the Yacht Club! 🥳🐶🎉🙌🏼
I'm so happy you know how Samanatha Brown is. Whenever anyone ask me who I wanted to be when I grew up, I always say Samantha Brown.

Thank you so much for the info on Disney Hotels. I find this useful in deciding which hotels I like to visit.
HAHA the Samantha Brown comment - I remember watching them all the time - Great Hotels! Such a wonderful show! Love these resorts!

That New England hotel is actually the Del Coronado located in Coronado California (the original)
Have you guys thought about doing a how to eat healthy in Disney? Maybe each meal under 500 calories? Where to eat? What to get?
way back when travel did actual travel instead of "ghostie" things ok but it doesn't have a king Triton dragon water slide though.
I love both. Beautiful and classic. As DVC options, I like Beach Club more than Boardwalk. Between BC and YC, maybe I like the more formal YC vibe. I hope they make YC a DVC property. It would be a great addition and help even out BC's upcoming 2042 expiration date.

Storm-a-Long Bay is legendary at this point.
If I stay in beach club and I want to go to magic kingdom, can’t I walk over and take the monorail or do I have to have a park pass to Epcot?
You can’t get to the monorail without going through Epcot, and it’s almost a mile walk. Even if you could take monorail from hotel you would have to then transfer to the MK monorail once you got to the TTC. - there is a bus that takes you to magic kingdom and drops you off at the gate like all Disney resorts. Will take 15 minutes vs close to 2 hours to do all the monorail stuff.
We stayed at the yacht club for 10 days recently. Will never do that again. There was zero hotel activities. They were advertised but no cast members showed up.
