For those who are asking what size bolts to use to replace the rivets. 1/4" x 20 is what you need. 3/4" long would probably be perfect. I used 1" long bolts (that's all I could get in a pinch) and they worked fine, but they were just a little on the long side.
All they say is make sure the window is down. Well if y'all are like me and the window just slides up and down and this is the reason I'm installing this part. Well if your like me STOP!!!! I'm serious take a minute and think. We pulled every thing off the door and it was fine, but don't slide your rollers out without checking the spring. We just slid it out and it snapped around and BROKE MY DADS NOSE!! Just be careful if your windows were like mine. Watch the arms of the regulator!! Stay safe, everything else was spot on from the video!!
My driver's side window motor had stopped working This video along with motor/regulator assembly from 1 Auto took about an hour to remove and replace. I used 3/4" long 1/4-20 bolts/nuts to mount. If people have this issue and window is stucknin the up position this is what I did. After removing the door trim I tapped on the inner door panel where the lift motor was while holding the up/down switch in the down position. Window moved to the down position I had to do this multiple times until the window regulator and motor from 1aAuto arrived.

Another part that just broke on mine was the lower mounting bracket for the front window track. My was driver's side but looks like you guys sell a replacement, although at a much higher cost than local auto parts store. But you video will help me take it apart and put back together, so thanks for that!
alright if I'm changing the regulator chances are the window doesn't move. So how do you put the window down. This is like watching a DVD video on how to set up a DVD player.
I'm almost thinking you'll have to drill out the rivets that hold the regular in before you pull the panel off. Make sure you put something to hold the window up, like a 2x4 or two, before you remove everything holding it up!

...Thank you very helpful video :)....makes it look so easy, I was really struggling with it...part of the reason was having to do it out in the cold driveway, snow flurries, damp gritty ground ....I was thinking...somebody should make some instructional videos in the context that most of us have to do it...it would be nice to have a nice well equipped, warm, dry, well lighted shop...but the reality of it, is most of us have to do this sh@t outside...wet ground, dropping screws in the dirt and gravel...trying to get it done before it starts raining or snowing, or before it gets dark...a few may be lucky enough to have a small ,crowded garage, maybe a carport or pole shed....or at least a paved driveway.....BTW, power window motors always go out when it's raining, cold, snowing, etc...and they ALWAYS stop working when the window is in the "down" position :/...starters always go out in bad weather, also...usually when it's pouring the rain... :(

Replaced mine it was simple as the video. Only thing my window was up and wouldn't come down, but if you tap the motor through speaker while pushing button it'll work. I also needed a helper to push the window down. After taking it out realized regulator was bent which was the problem.
@P A use blue painters tape and tape the window from the inside going around the top to the outside window. Do this evenly. I did it about 5 times. Then you are good to remove the regulator from the track.

Thanks for the detailed video. Any difficulty in pulling out the passenger side window once you get the inner panel removed? My window is still intact but is cracked in a thousand pieces from getting hit by something when I was mowing the lawn. I know I still have to follow these steps in the video to take the inner door panel off and remove the regulator rollers from the window channel, but can't find any videos describing how to remove and replace the window once that's done. Is there anything else holding the window in place?
Take everything out except the window. Push the window up until the bottom of the window can be pulled out from the door. Not to difficult hope you see this if you haven't fixed it already
Mine was like that my lock actuator was dangling in the door and kept it from going down a lot of times It’s not the window regulator it’s usually caused by something in the way

@@1AAuto Yeah this is the one thing stopping me from doing this job, because I want to have the nuts and bolts there when I do the job, and not be running back and forth to the hardware store. But other than that, good video.
Do you know where I can get the actual drivers side power window connector. The actual connector on the harness. Mine doesn't have a great connection, I have to play with the wires to lower my windows.
Once the regulator is bolted into the side panel just lower it to the lowest postion. I just changed two of them. Manaul type. I recon with the electric type you might have to add power to do it.
the round spring when the window is up put the spring in by hand light pressure as the window goes down it loads the spring . i could not find info. and i replaced the motor. not the regulator . its a pain to get the mounting bolts in to replace the rivets
Would be really nice if some one sold the 1997 rear window regulators / manaul type. You can find the front door type all day long. The Suburbans, 3500 four door trucks, and Tahoes should all be the same. There is a market for these truck door parts.

More than likely what you say is true, cursing more than a truck-driving sailor... but that is those who don't know that you slide the rollers out *opposite* ends. Common thinking would have you roll one roller out after the other, through whichever selected side of the track --and that's when it fights you. But you actually pop each roller out opposite sides of the track, one after the other.

I have a 99 2 door Tahoe need to replace regulator. Which style does it need? Some overlap with the collapsable regulatro and the X frame regulator. Got a part #?
One of the best looking trucks gm designed but the doors absolutely suck. The 2 size bushings with welded hinges "no adjustments", the outside handles, the window regulators,the welded rear guide for the glass... they just suck.
Stop counting this as a 88-98. The vortecs are different and are only 96-98. They have similarities or are the same on some things but a lot of things you guys just lump into the 88-98 category when it’s completely different for many years within these... my 92 is completely different..

You can use 1/4 x 3/4 bolts. They are the perfect size so you don't have to move the window regulator around to fit all the bolts in the holes.

There are three roller things you have to get in the door. Only saw you slide two or f them in!

I just use a little map gas torch to heat up the glue on the plastic to make it stick again
