I totally agree about the confidence! I have never been an athlete - I have always been into music and theater. I had no confidence in the strength of my body. The day that I could finally do a push from my toes was an amazing day! And that was after having had 4 kids. I can definitely say that I’m in better shape after having my babies than I was before, and that feels amazing!!
Just sent this to my mom who’s 52. She’s been considering strength training but is scared of getting bulky. This is exactly what she needs to hear..thanks Jordan!
I pove strength training so much. I started my firness journey loving cardio.. which seems somewhat rare, I'm super happy about that. Get me on an elliptical on a 15 incline and im in heaven... But when i started resistance training it changed my world. I love the way i look and feel. I feel like i get runnwrs high between sets. I may even enjoy strength training more than cardio now.
I went from power lifting to strength training, kinda due to some injuries but I'm happy with strength training. Can't tell anyone what it does to the mind, it's incredible. I've also cuts calories, increased my protein and fiber to be able to see some of my gains. I happily go to the gym 3 times a week (most of the time) for about an hour or so. I do have a trainer and she helps me with my workouts to include both strength and mobility. It has been a blessing!!! Plus this channel, always uplifting!
I am a woman and I love strength training, makes me feel so strong and powerful. I wish I looked defined even when not lifting, but I think that takes a long long time!
I’ve been lifting in some capacity since my late teens and i’m mid-50s now. I started bc I have arthritis in knees and wanted to walk or run without pain. Lifting changed that for me! as I’ve gotten older, I’ve prioritize lifting heavier. One of the surprising benefits has been improved group strength. There is a jar that I can’t open.😂
My dad is 64 years old and obese He is 5 feet tall and 260 pounds He’s legs are short and heavy As my dad has gotten older and older and less mobile throughout the years he has lost his all ready minimal strength and endurance he’s to the point of close to bedridden Especially since he has had covid things have gotten worse To everyone watching especially parents please stay healthy and active
I need to put strength training into my program/workouts. In may i started training for a marathon - running and lifting. By august i was only running. In october i decided that i would defer due to injury in my calf. I know if i would have kept up with my strength training, i could have continued with the distance. :/ thank you for this. I will look at pricing options for your program!
Jordan, what would you say to someone with a chronic condition who has been told to lift less weight & do more reps (versus less reps of heavier weights). I've been told to not lift heavy essentially. Is all lost? I will still do what I can safely, but I feel discouraged.
Thank you! Jordan, what is "realistic" for a 47-year-old woman? I have been strength training my entire adult life but can't seem to increase too much!
Trust me, I've been * trying * intentionally for a year to get my shoulders and quads "big and bulky".. Tiffany who just came from years and years of cardio with weights just now starting to lift heavy shit ain't getting bulky anytime soon. 😵💫😒
My confidence has soared!
Yesterdays Personal best for chest flys was using 40lb dumbbells
48 year old
That's amazing good job

Jordan I so relate to the confidence aspect of lifting! Lifting has enriched my life and helped me to see myself as more than just a 2D image!

Jordan do you have a female strength chart you recommend?

As a man.. I wish strength training equated to looking like a juiced bull.. unfortunately, like Jordan.. "I am puny."
