Two Highly Productive Methods We Use To Find Arrowheads - Probing Fields and Sifting Creeks

  • Matthew and Chris don’t let the grass grow under their feet up in Smith County when it comes to hunting arrowheads whether in the fields or in the water and they’ve been beating both of them to death the past few weeks and had Will up to hunt with them one day and it has been paying off in a big way. Matthew even pulled out a monster of a point from the creek! Do yourself a favor, grab a bag of popcorn, pull up a chair and enjoy this look at some awesome arrowhead hunting.

    For anyone watching these videos and are going out digging/sifting for arrowheads and relics, be aware. I live in Indiana and was out this past weekend in a local river. Not in a start park, not in any area that would be restricted in anyway and was stopped by conservation police. As it was explained to me, you can pick up arrowheads on the surface all day long, but you are not allowed to dig or use a sifting screen to look for them. In Indiana, you can be arrested and it is a class misdemeanor, which is one step below a felony. I did not know this was law, apologized was honest and respectful to officer. I got a written warning and that was it. At time I was stopped, I had not found anything. Office asked me to open a cooler and backpack I had with me. In turn, he was courteous to me and the experience was good as I did not go to jail. Make sure you know the laws, it isn’t worth getting g into trouble for

    I was walking the ditches again today and found a beautiful broke one I mean that’s the best one I’ve ever seen but it’s broke. Found another broke one and a nut all firestarter. I’ve been walking the shallow creeks and finding what I’ve been finding but I have a question for you. How do y’all decide where to dig in those creeks that are deep like that? I plan on doing a lot of that this summer when it warms up. I appreciate y’all‘s videos, I’ve learned what I’ve learned about this from you all. Thank you.

    How do y'all know where to start looking/sifting in the creeks? As y'all know, the creeks here in South MS have a ton of gravel bars. I'm trying to narrow down my search area. Downstream from high ground with clean water source? Me and my kids have picked up arrowhead hunting in the past year. We've found a bunch of points and tools while digging and on top of the ground. We are looking to branch out and search the creeks this summer. Any advise would be appreciated!

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only advice I would give is to probe around till you find some gravel and sift it. Thanks for watching and good luck.

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  ปีที่แล้ว

      I see people digging on private property and in creeks on the same finding points on TH-cam all the time. Isn't it just public land and public waterways that you can't pick them up in Florida? Just asking.

    • @Qit_qt
      @Qit_qt ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HeartbreakerRelics you can hunt them on private property excluding rivers and waterways . On public or state land you can't do anything but pick them up off the surface . No diving no chopping no digging no sifting. Which is the overwhelming vast majority of "good spots" . Also the sale or trade of man made artifacts is strictly illegal in any form here .
