    Scott, I always love to see an exhausted point. Obviously it was a good one and treasured, to be resharpened until it was used up! The other point was awesome! And congrats on the silver dime, your sifter works wonderfully well! And I LOVE your bloodhound!!!😊

      Cynthia Swearingen Thank you, I’m not even sure how someone could hunt with something that small but I’m sure it was sharp at that time. Duke will be 9 in may. He’s getting slow and weighs 163 lbs. he’s always been a big dog and my best friend in the world. Thank you so much for supporting my channel. The sifter I thought up myself after a day of lifting the regular sifter, its so much easier. I’m working on new ideas all the time to make this hunting faster and easier.👍

      @@cleggsadventures If you don`t have one you should try out the incredible yet inexpensive Minelab Vanquish 340 metal detector. Get rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for it and you`re set. I wish I had a great place to hunt old silver coins with mine. But for water hunting the Nokta Makro Simplex is inexpensive and fully waterproof and has a rechargeable battery.

      @@cleggsadventures Check out the Simplex if you have freshwater swimming areas that may contain old coins or jewelry. The Vanquish is an incredible saltwater beach machine and uses a simplified but very similar circuit to the Equinox with its multi frequency. The technology in these two machines has never been available at such a low price point until recently. I`m still testing my Vanquish and figuring it out but so far it has been great. I wish I could detect every yard in the small town nearby for silver coins. Both of these would make a great team for that and have great depth. In areas where the multi frequency of the Vanquish picks up interference the Simplex is usually not bothered by it and some say it`s better than the expensive Equinox machines for finding silver coins in many cases.

    I enjoy all your videos keep them coming lm going to make a sifter just like the one you made you move through a lot of material thanks

    • @cleggsadventures
      @cleggsadventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Wise It works great, you can move a lot of material with half the effort. I have 1/2” in screen on it. I originally had 1/4” but went to the 1/2” to shake the material through faster. I realize some small triangles and flakes will go through but most the points I’ve found there have been medium to larger points, so I think it was a pretty good trade off. If you have a lot of small points in your area, you could use the 1/4” so nothing gets lost. The plastic gas line is thick, so I thinned the area where it goes onto the plywood with a belt sander. Then finished cutting through the plastic with a razor knife. Slid it onto the plywood and put a couple of screws to hold it. I think a 3/4” pine board would work instead of cedar, pine is pretty light also. Use some small pieces of strapping on the top corners to make the box stronger. And I put the rope through the side piece and tied a knot. Go through the side so you’re not pulling hard on the front piece of the box. I plan on making one in the future with and 8” board instead of 6” to hold more material. Happy hunting! Hope ya find a nice one👍

    At 1:55 to 2:10 I see pieces of very large rope on the beach; I come across the same thing along the Hiwassee River in SE Tenn. My research shows they were used for warping steamboats over shallow shoals during low water before the dams were built. They would be looped around a fixed point on the shore back to the capstan on the bow which would turn pulling boat over the shoal.

    How about making a video about actually findy stuff, and not babbling endlessly. I like videos about hunting and finding artifacts, not bla, bla, bla. Just saying...🧐

    • @cleggsadventures
      @cleggsadventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      William Artifacts don’t come easy and sometimes take hours to find. If One turned up every 10 minutes, I’m sure that I could have clips of just picking them up. But since they don’t, it makes it tough to make a video like that. Finding 2 or even 3 a is a good day around here. If I was to film only the finding part, the video would be to short, and most viewers want to see and have me describe what I’m doing. Thanks for watching.
