Tim Cato is easily one of the most annoying Dallas reporters. Always trying to take low blows at people. Kidd was looking at him like “who tf is this guy” 😂

@@thatoneplace yes but Jason Kidd has a good defense coaching philosophy. He just didn't know how to alter it when the league figured how to beat it. Maybe his experience in LA will help be better here.
What? It made me worried when he said that lol, they need more than just be better on defense, they have to upgrade the entire roster, Luka can't do everyhting offensively either and it was evident in the playoffs

I agree with mark, this is a very exciting time to be a Mavs fan. I think this team wins a championship in the next 2-3 years.

Members of the media act like they are perfect. If half of them had to reveal what they did to get their own job in order to ask questions about other's past mistakes there wouldn't be any media questions. People mess up, it's what you're doing about it that counts, and none of us are blameless.

I do not care about the past background but basketball wise so far he is a average coach at best but I hope with the Lakers he learned.
KP Is going to get most improved player. The man finally got to an off-season where he can finally work on his craft and maintain his body. I’m excited and now sadly waiting on our upcoming season.

Man, I'm excited for J Kidd and Nico, but their speeches seem soooooooooo rehearsed and robotic. Like they were trying to be over careful with Cynt sitting nearby. It just didn't seem like a "loose and be yourself" type of news conference.
That said, I'm a MFFL'er . Go Mavs!
I just hope Kidd learned a lot from his last coaching stint a few years ago.
When he had a raw Giannis? People give Giannis a hard time now if Bud was there when Kidd was (which they wouldn’t of hired him at that time) he would’ve struggled as well. Kidd has only coached teams that need a lot of work. Kidd had a hand in the development of Giannis let’s not act like he was a star for his first 5 or so years.
Kidd didn't have near the talent to work with at Milwaukee or Brooklyn. Giannis wasn't a finished product like he is now, Middleton wasn't a closer and don't get me started on the team he had to work with in Brooklyn. No I repeat no coach would have been successful in those situations. Why do you think Giannis wanted Kidd? He is the PRIMARY reason Giannis developed so much and the Greek Freak said so himself
@@hottakeapproved6340 I know 100% that Bud isn’t the reason for Giannis development. Maybe a tad bit but that dude just knows how to draw up plays and put people in the right spot. Kidd definitely taught Giannis the basics of the NBA.

Kidd being around this new generation of players means he has a better grasp of how these young men play. I think he will definitely change KP's role so a more significant one. I've been saying that while KP did struggle, Rick Carlise is ultimately to blame for putting him in that spot. The man literally can't get any rhythm because he's just asked to wait for a pass in the final seconds of the shot clock. I think Kidd will get him more involved.
Things are looking good for the Mavericks.

he said to coach's Rick that he figured something out during the game and Coach Rck allowed him to do what he discovered and the result was successful ,,

Kidd was a great player. But he's been a bad coach throughout his career. I don't see this working out. Seems like another dumb Cuban decision, because Kidd played on the championship team from years ago.
I am curious as to why Basketball analytics and the possible implementation of them for this Mavs team was not brought up???
NBA reporter Marc Stein held a Greenroom on Friday night, and I got the chance to speak. Earlier he had mentioned how Mavericks fans were very frustrated and he wasn’t really sure why, so I used my time to try and explain it. I talked about how the Mavericks seem to overrate themselves, how they ignore the draft, how they can never land the free agents they want, how they’re arrogant and seem to think they’re smarter than everyone else.
And then Marc asked me what particular move they should have made, and to be honest, I didn’t have a good answer. There is no one move I can point to that they should have made this offseason that would make me feel better.
So I started thinking about it. Why am I so frustrated? It’s not just me either. If you check out Mavs twitter, (which is generally a terrible idea), you’ll see a lot of anger. A lot of people complaining about the same old Mavs failing at free agency. You’ll also see different people coming out left and right to scold us. Calling us entitled fans, telling us the team knows better, that we’re a bunch of idiots and that Mark Cuban is!!
Never give up on your dreams, sometimes it takes time.
The media is so petty; Kidd paid for his pass and had to live with it on his shoulders. Give the man a chance to prove that he’s learned from his mistakes

It’s 2024, year 3 of Kidd and Luka and it’s the first year Luka has all the pieces he needs. Some “Mavs fans” are doubtful about to the max, but I still have faith that this core with Kyrie and Luka that’s built around them will win a championship with Kidd and Nico still apart of it.

I feel like Kidd doesn't completely get yet how special Luka is, he kept bringing up his age and talking about him like he's a meer talented prospect with tons of things to polish in his game, when Luka is already a top 5 player, arguably the best player in the world and there's not much he can improve on offensively in terms of playmaking and scoring other than working on his free throws..He's ready NOW to win championships, they only thing they should focus on is upgrading the pieces around him...

Kidd gave Luka his credit but also spoke about the importance of teamwork and communication because it was obvious to anyone that Dallas was lacking major in those 2 departments last year. We aren’t going to win a ring playing Hero ball.
