  • The Weekenders was a one-off comic television pilot starring Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, produced by Granada Television for Channel 4. Broadcast on Wednesday 17 June 1992 as part of a series of pilots entitled Bunch of Five, it was a surreal sitcom in which two friends, Jim and Bob visit a meat festival taking place in an open field. They are then chased by aliens who want the meat they have brought to feed their queen

"Jim, that's not a booth. It's more of a kiosk."

I like the fact that Vic Reeves plays a character called Jim in this.

The reason for that is because Vic Reeves's real name is Jim Moir.

It truely was some of the very finest cinematography the world has ever seen.
    I like the red shoes.
I like the hedges, however there was some bad language such as "we" and "and" over twice during (and after) several sentences.
Electric Russel now works at Matalan on the old old Kent road.
He never let fame go to his head, knees or thromboid.
Overall I give this 4 and 6 quarter golden melons.
Roughly 7 conkers in today's money.
I have to go now, back to my sweet sweet eggs.

I had this on video but since thrown away so nice to see this again. I always thought a series would have been nice. Having said that it's dated a bit and patchy. Catterick was also good and I would like to see that gain.
