- The second installment of my series on running my vintage Team Associated RC10 B2 Buggy against the much newer B5 and B6 R/C buggies.
On the first race night with the B2, despite having the lead many times in every race, I was unable to secure a victory thus a few changes to the buggy were in order for the next race night. It is still running its original stock brushed motor and Novak brushed motor contoller but I was forced to ditch the old 75 MHz KO Propo Mars radio for a newer Turnigy 2.4 GHz unit plus a couple of other tweaks to the setup were completed.
Our backyard R/C track is sized for 1/10 scale RC buggies and trucks such as Associated SC10, Traxxas Slash, Losi Ten SCTE, RC10GT, RC10B, and RC10T. We also have Kyosho nitro-powered 1/8 scale buggies but they are a bit large and fast for this track.

I love the B2 I have two that I am restoring now and watching you makes me happy! Go 90s/80s when rc was the golden age
Right on! My only concern about racing mine is breaking something. Not sure about the availability of parts.
i enjoy rc racing especially the vintage , working on a losi XXT restoration at the moment still looking for a good deal on a JRX2 to restore, so much more expensive that this stuff was a few years ago. Nice to see the old B2 kicking A on the track.
Just watched both of these videos! I am an old racer from the 90's that has a trophy winning RC10DS carpet car I was looking to get back on the road! This gives me hope! I just need to see if there are any clubs or tracks here in Pensacola, FL! I raced and won back in Rapid City, SD with the Rapid City Radio Control Car Club from 1995 to 2001.
Excellent! However, you might have trouble finding any club that runs a 2WD class. I think pretty much everything is AWD now. Hopefully I'm wrong and you get that DS back in the winner's circle. Keep me posted. Cheers.
So, let me get this straight. I am driving 500 miles Friday to come race one of these for the first time ever and you are kickin' ass in a 26 year old buggie? I have as much of a chance as the Mustang that pulled up next to my Ghibli a few days ago. Poor full had no idea what he was up against.
