R/C Buggy Mud Run - Team Associated RB10s Running in the Rain

It was raining a lot on this day but it wasn't going to ruin our fun. We ran a few laps with our Team Associated RB10 1/10 scale 2-wheel drive radio control buggies on our backyard RC track. There was no standing water on the track so the amount of mud buildup on the cars was surprising to say the least. Running your R/C car like this isn't recommended, though, as it does put a lot of stress on the electronics.
Our backyard R/C track is sized for 1/10 scale RC buggies and trucks such as Associated SC10, Traxxas Slash, Losi Ten SCTE, RC10GT, RC10B, and RC10T. We also have Kyosho nitro-powered 1/8 scale buggies but they are a bit large and fast for this track.

Cleanup was a pain for sure. Some hinge pins started binding, a couple bearings seized and steering developed some resistance. Took a couple hours to clean and repair. Needless to say, we don't get our cars dirty like that too often.

This reminds me of when I was a kid. Me and my sister had the Tyco Fast Traxx, and we would go to the field out back of our trailer and run them on the ice crust that formed on the snow.

Those RB10s are really cool! Great price ($350 I think?) for a solid 2wd buggy to mess around at the track. Plus racing in the mud looks awesome, we don't have any tracks by me that aren't actively maintained and so they strongly frown upon using them when it's wet outside (or they flood completely) but man I'd love to do this some time.
Just can't imagine the mess to clean afterwards 🤣

Yes, cleanup was a big job and turns out each vehicle had a couple axle bearings nearly seized from all the dirt ingress.
