On the other hand, sadly, we also have a lot of *so called reviewers* who simply copy from others and blabber in the name of reviewing with duplicate channel names and what not..
I love this phone.. watching content in 4K HDR 60fps is incredible.... it has the fastest boot up time I've ever seen on a phone.. navigation is super fast.
And that's, ladies & gentleman, how you do an objective, non-biased quick phone review. Now compare it to the incompetenet pseudo-journalists from The Verge and their pathetic review. Night and Day...
the verge did a way better job at mentioning what the phone is missing. this review skipped all that and only say good thing about this phone. I'd say this review is extremely subjective and biased.
The Verge at least is brutally honest about what the Xperia 1 is missing. Talking about only the good parts is, in fact, much more biased, especially when you don't mention how it stacks up to the competition . Calling them pseudo journalists is like calling you a pseudo tech enthusiast. Your Sony bias has you completely blind to the phone's shortcomings.
It's very rare to see someone review a Sony phone without any bias over Apple, Samsung, and the chinese phones. I only go to Btekt and Phone Battles when I need an Xperia device review. Good job to the reviewer in the video. 👍
Sony has really stepped up their Xperia line over the past few years. Coming from Moto phones I had an XZ Premium and I recently got an XZ2 Premium and love them both. Awesome displays, best smartphone batteries I've seen, clean software, nice design and build quality, and solid cameras. I miss the headphone jack but really everything else about these phones has been impressing me

Watching your video, I get the impression that people were paid to give it bad reviews. Unfortunately for them, the world has seen the truth and Xperia 1 has run out of stock in most shops around the world. Good phones come from Sony.
I'm over it, i've been headphone jackless with my iphone 7 for nearly 3 years now and im used to it. Its time to move on i guess, at least this phone has LDAC.
@@Malinkadink I'll never get over it. Wired headphones are a model of simplicity. No batteries to ever charge nor replace, if that's even an option once the batteries go bad. I do get the luxury of no wires, but I think it should be an option to use wired headphones if you want to without a clunky adapter.
Actually they didnt. The 21:9 screen ratio is a way to give two wins. Narrow to hold and a big screen in the same time. The phone has a big screen but still kinda compact. Just look at the Xperia 10 that is almost in the same with as my X compact and XZ1 compact. It almost feels the very same. Sure Xperia 1 is a little bigger, but still not that bigger.

Nice review 👍🏽 About the fp sensor you need to change the position(like the images sugest) while setting them up to let it work correct. I've noticed that on the side mounted fp scanners settimg them up costs a little more effort as jou need to register more fingers. right thumb, left index/middle/ring finger for when holding the phone and left thumb, right index and middle finger for when on the ground or car holder (in 1 of those positions also)
impatiently waiting for mine to arrive in 4 days. like yours? i've seen a few people say they have serious overheating problems, especially while using the camera. had any overheating issues with yours?
i've been using txtnow app for wifi calls. it used to be good but now it's so flooded with ads it crashes the app constantly. just ordered the xperia 1, not sure if having a more powerful phone will prevent those crashes or if i'll have to try another app. there are plenty to choose from.
i saw another reviewer entering his thumb from every possible position and he said it works great. i've seen a lot of reviewers and comments from people saying the fingerprint scanner is terrible on this phone, but i found like 2 reviewers that say it works perfectly. guess i'll find out when i get mine in 4 days.
I was at Bestbuy today checking out this phone and even though its little tall, the picture quality just snapping inside picture was amazing better then my iphone x or samsung galaxy s10e (i have both) I think I will be getting sony xperia 5 just because its little smaller.
Everything else is behind other phones. Poor dynamic range, no video stabilization, low speaker quality, top bezel, no jack... I wanted to like it but cant.
4:51 Damn straight. I love the Pixel 3 XL, but man is it abysmal in RAM management and battery life longevity. These are things I really did not have a problem with on my Xperia XZ1. Love the Pixel's camera, but Sony really does omptimization really well.
What is the camera performance like in detail? I have a Note 9, and I'm actually quite disappointed by the camera performance. I'm thinking of going for a Huawei phone next, but the Xperia 1 looks good.
@@hariznonis from everything i've been hearing to get the most out the camera you have to learn how to use manual mode, and the auto mode is not nearly as good. there are some vids on youtube that explain the best settings for various conditions using the manual mode on this camera. if you don't want to mess with all that you may not like this.

I felt the same about the headphone jack, but on the other hand most headphones are wireless anyways now adays. And you can't tell the difference in quality. Battery wise, it keeps up with almost all the other phones with larger battery, check out phone battles ^^
it comes with a headphone adapter in the box and it's pretty small so it's not that big of a deal, unless you charge and listen to the headphones at the same time a lot. as for the battery that had me a little worried but from everything i've heard the battery life is surprisingly good, and the batteries in sony are very good long term, still like new after a couple years. i ordered my x1, can't wait til it gets here in 4 days.

@@henryb610 on my galaxy s6, just about every preinstalled app i tried to disable said it could cause problems with the phone or other apps. i don't know a lot about that stuff so i just left all these apps i never used on, probably draining my battery twice as fast. just ordered the xperia 1, 4 days and it'll be mine.
@@Jack_80 Samsung Android layer is terrible IMO, it has a bunch of useless Samsung apps an features that "saturate" your phone usage. You will enjoy your Xperia, a nearly stock Android experience, just disable the apps you won't need. in my case i disabled all Facebook apps, prime, emails app, Google music, Google video and Gdrive.
Depends how you want to use the phone. I just got the X1 and oh boy have i never felt so good browsing social media, web articles etc. It is really comfortable to browse with it

Sadly yes, but you can disable it, so it won't run in the background or show in the drawer.

21/9 is ridiculous. 18/9 is already a stretch.
