Poor dad. 😔 I wish I could say that I’ve never run across girls/women like “Samantha” but I have. Granted, I come from a different generation when gratitude was instilled and taught at a young age. Maybe it’s bc my grandparents and parents lived through the depression. My parents were only kids themselves at that time so things like new clothes and toys (etc..) were viewed as luxury items. Keeping a roof over your head and food on the table was most families biggest concerns back then. I don’t know how we’ve come to a place where our kids are so entitled and ungrateful for what they have. It blows my mind sometimes when I see a teenager driving around in a car that’s more expensive than mine and they don’t even have a job to pay for their own gas. LoL My first car was a VW bug I paid for myself, it had a straight body but had primer spots all over it. It wasn’t the most attractive car but I didn’t care bc it got me from point A to point B (school and job) and that’s all I cared about. Any time friends would get together to go out on weekends we would all chipped in a couple of bucks to give gas money to who ever was driving that night. I’m making myself sound really old right now (LoL) but it was a simpler time.. and there was no other choice than to be humble. Our parents would occasionally help out but for the most part we weren’t just handed everything, we had to earn it.
