for those considering... having to convert the bed every night is a total PIA. WE did it for 3 years, never again. 80% of the time with just left it in the bed configuration, meaning we almost never had a lounge.
Class B prices have gotten pretty stupid, but RVs typically don't sell anywhere near MSRP. It's pretty easy to get a 20% discount or more. That said, if I was going to buy one van to keep forever, I'd probably just go for a totally custom build, designed to my specs. Yes, it'll be way more expensive, but you won't have to compromise on build quality quality and features like you will with most of the mainstream brands, particularly those built in Elkhart, Indiana manufacturing hub, which is known for poor build quality.
No kidding!!! If you figured out how much you would pay for the RV per month, then use that amount for your lodging budget for trips, holy smokes! Someone could go 5-stars every trip!!
That’s not saying much in the world of RVs. Airstream has put out plenty of POS. I owned one so I know. Nothing like that “legendary” Thor quality 🤦🏼♂️
Some truly wonderful, thoughtful features - and seems very high quality. But the comparatively small fresh water tank is quite limiting for off grid use. Even if you invest in extra portable solar panels and haul them around with you (because you can't fit any more on the roof, another hassle), so the terrific battery capacity is maximized- you'll run out of water long before the batteries drain; so having the awesome batteries won't help you stay out there any longer than a small, cheap battery pack would.
@@jag1963 it’s not unaffordable compared to a 4 seater plane - or a nice boat - or a 3rd house or many other luxuries the successful have. Why complain if it’s beyond your reach? Just enjoy!
The point is - it’s simply not worth the price. A quarter million dollars for a leather-clad delivery van is absolutely laughable. Airstream is not an RV company - it’s a boutique marketing company selling you a story of history and heritage and blah, blah, blah. Look past the marketing ruse and it’s a tarted-up Amazon delivery truck. A freakishly overpriced toy for the undiscerning.
@@thetinysideoftiny7625 many things don’t seem worth the price if you can’t afford them…a new IPhone…a new car…college…dinner at the French Laundry…living in NYC or Boston or San Francisco, etc, etc, etc. If you can afford it, then it’s really not that big of a deal. “Vanlife” is not for just the poor, you know?
@@thetinysideoftiny7625 The cargo area in an Amazon delivery truck has no beds or ac or heat or plumbing or…anything else. It’s empty. And it still costs around a 100k to buy one (it’s called “The Delivery 700”). That’s why the Airstream costs more money. There’s lots of stuff inside that allows a human to live comfortably within it.
Freakishly overpriced. Like Macklemore says “That’s $50 for a T-shirt”. Who would be gullible enough to dump a quarter million dollars on a leather-clad delivery van?
I’ve seen costume builds from small companies that are was nicer. And way less. How about the diesel band happening in California and other states. Will this vehicle be allowed.
Airstream is a luxury brand that tries to do things their own way. And that might be the problem for me. This Class B is not even configured in a way I could spend 1 day in it. It's missing a lot of common sense items and configuration inside and has a lot of amenities that seem useless. That makes other less expensive Class B motorhomes well worth their "cheaper materials" and lack of luxury. And diesel? No way I'd buy any vehicle that uses diesel. Much less with a tiny 24.5 fuel tank.
Can Airstream Redefine a better lower price!? Can Airstream check off the box for ridiculously overpriced!? Even I can afford to buy it, I refuse to participate in this ridiculous amount of conspicuous consumption and waaay overpriced vehicle (& inflation is not the cause of this price hike; greed is the cause). Enough is enough, and too much will make a dog sick.
That is grossly overpriced, that drivetrain 2 liter engine is pathetic, it’s not even the extended chassis, and it’s cramped as hell. Kudos to Patrick for having the watermelons to advertise it at the price though lol
Patrick doesn’t set the MSRP, and there will be plenty of people who sold their home and this is their traveling condo; so the math works from their perspective.
$100,000 more than 2019?
That's not inflation.

It’s nice to see Ray Romano has found a way to pass his retirement years.
yeah he comes out and says im a sales person.....NO REALLY? I couldn't tell LOL
Very professional presentation as always
Patrick does a great job, doesn’t he?
Always a pleasure Patrick, Thank you for the excellent tour.
Patrick also sells them for a living, If you are interested in one, please contact him.
almost a quarter mil for that is absolutely insane
bUt ItS aLl PoWeR eVeRyThInG!
Nice...but holy cow.. a 1/4 Million dollars? WAY overpriced.
Exactly! Needs an immediate 100k price correction! I am seeing a 179msrp, 150 selling price here….not 1/4 million. Stupid
RVs have no price.
They are expensiver when released, but never msrp
That’s the Airstream pricing model - take what a reasonable price would be and multiply by 2.3x
72” bed, I’m not fitting 😂

Airstream is top notch
That’s not saying much in the world of RVs. Airstream has put out plenty of POS. I owned one so I know. Nothing like that “legendary” Thor quality 🤦🏼♂️
1300 lbs of cargo capacity. Two passengers, dog, water, diesel, food, luggage, misc. That’s pushing the limit.
Oh Santa!!😊🎉🎉
A modded sprinter van or a 1500 square foot house in a cheap part of America? 🤔
I'll take nice home for 250k Alex !
impressive that for 200k they give you a carpet.
That clothes line makes the price reasonable!

It's very nice.
Thanks for watching!
Hi mate, nice video, be sure to take some PROPOLIS for good health : ) Cheers!
Thanks for watching and for the advice!
A new Kenworth semi tractor can run $350,000.
Can get a better model, full electric and better layout for 119k... this is just totally absurd price. No thanks.
Worth 100K TOPS! I mean... TOPS! But if you have gobs of super rich people buying them up... more power to ya!
For people complaining about how much this incredible vehicle costs, all I can say is that it was not made for you.
This is true It's not made for me. I am not that stupid.

New 2025 chassis, new steering wheel etc, now,
Or when the new chassis?
One of the very few considerate enough to remove the shoes. Nice.
It’s just common courtesy!
Dark cabinets are out .
Patrick, when’s the give away.
😂
lol
Not near enough fresh water, and the couch bed looks very uncomfortable on this overpriced van.
Be 85k for the vehicle, and then that again to convert it yourself.
I would buy two of them if I could, and my lovely wife and I would caravan in each one.
Way to expensive. I know most of the interior is handmade crafted. But, for $250,000. Thats a bit much.
208 Horsepower? Roughly the same as a Honda Civic.
Torque is king
the austin powers electrical bed... not very comfy...... very modern equipment, same design as 20 years ago for the bed..... :(
1,000 watt inverter for that price isn’t acceptable.
The optional E1 package upgrades it to 3200 W
Freakishly overpriced. Like Macklemore says “That’s $50 for a T-shirt”.

Did I hear right, no spare tire?
Why do these van's always have teeny tires

I can build this for 30 k tops
A luxury van? Isn’t that a contradiction? If you want luxury, stay in a five star hotel.
Too expensive for flimsy black out covers. Nice features though in some ways.
They're not flimsy at all, actually!
Too,too expensive!

Looks OK for $120k
Might as well buy a house
Two litre turbo for that money... give me a break
It's ridiculous to charge that much for an RV.
Nothing new for 2025….black tank, propane no thanks
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
American greed ! This thing isint worth more than 60k not 250

WAY, WAY, WAY OVERPRICED !!!
After everything you said it done it’s built at a Mercedes cargo van no thank you
Not for 250,000
Whoaaaa… that interior is wayyyyyy too dark. Ugh. That would be depressing if you had to be inside due to bad weather. Eww.
Teeny tiny horrible bathroom. Teeny tiny beds I’ve seen way better custom vans. I wouldn’t pay 20 K for that. Sorry.
WAY OVER PRICED and wacko features
Add a second stereo, that is only a bit more convenient than the in-dash. Another $2k to integrate the speakers
non existent shower to even turn around. Way overpriced for what you get.
