    A useful car. Especially in todays busy roads and tight parking spaces. Quite expensive though, but so are pretty much all EVs.

    This is a prime second car, for running the kids to school, getting the shopping or just getting to work. There are plenty of old Italian villages with zero space to move, park or pass in, so small cars are really handy. I remember driving in Sicily and seeing all these old beat up 500s and asking my local friend "does no-one care about their cars" but he said in a town that has 800 year old road widths, you need small or you walk.

      I really don't, I hate crossover suvs and I want a small car like this one or a medium sized sedan that doesn't look like a muscle car, the only choice I have for a normal sized electric sedan or smaller is a tesla model 3 or S...all the other cars are huge and or too square/ muscley or they are not fully electric but hybrid which is dumb and suuuucks...what is wrong with the American electric market😪...with that said the Tesla also has superior software. I grew up driving Mercedes and it's my favorite car brand but even thier eqs has an ugly user interface, cool features on it but ugly ui. Again Idk why tesla is the only car company that knows what it's doing here...if Apple really is making an electric car they may be the only car that can actually compete becuase they know sexy and they know ui.

    We are among the very few who still treasure an original 500e from 2013 in the brightest red-orange with white trim. Almost 10 years later still brightens our hearts to see it every time we drive it; always a head-turner, exhilarating little ride, and super comfy to drive (in the front seats)… Our two kids quickly outgrow the back seats but then again, they are driving their own cars now... After almost 10 years, still maintains an average range of 100 miles year round (160 km. the range diminishes about 1/3 in winter mostly do to heating and slower chemical reactions... ) It's such a great little city car that could do almost everything you need a car to do in the city or on the highway between close cities, so long you can charge it in between running errands. We even have a hitch-mounted bike rack to add to its capabilities. Perhaps a fast charge mode battery or a range extender trailer could make it perfect and this car could go anywhere!

    • @benanderson89
      @benanderson89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerika8694 that's actually not true. The average commute in the EU is 25 minutes and 27 minutes in the USA. The average heights for an adult male are 5ft 9 in the USA and 5ft 10 in Europe.
      Car companies have worked for a very long time to spew propaganda about small, affordable cars for decades. They don't want to sell them to you because the margins are small compared to, say, an F150.

    • @jerika8694
      @jerika8694 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benanderson89
      I’m not talking about height, I hope you realize that. Also, I was not initially talking about commute. Americans travel MORE OFTEN than Europeans, we will drive for 8 hours straight just to visit family/friends.
      When my family and I go grocery shopping, we buy in bulk, and our car is usually filled to the brim (Nissan Altima 2009), the trunk and back seat is packed! It usually takes an hour to an hour and a half of driving in total just for a full day of grocery shopping, while the grocery shopping takes anywhere from 2-6 hours.
      Now, I’ll bring up average commute time for different cities in different states. In Austin, Texas, it’s 40 minutes. New York City, New York 33 minutes. Los Angeles, California 30 minutes. St. Louis, Missouri 23 minutes. Nashville, Tennessee, 25 minutes.
      Your commute will change depending on what state and city you live in, sometimes it’s short, other times long.
      Also, we can’t forget how large the USA is, and that some people live out in the country. The USA is 3.797 million mi². Europe (as a whole) is 4.066 million mi². One country is almost the same size as 44 countries combined. Because America is so vast, it’s not plausible to have electric car charging stations along the vast routes we travel.
      (All these facts are actually mind blowing lol)
      “The average UK driver is on the road for 7,745 miles a year.”
      “On average, Americans drive 14,263 miles per year according to the Federal Highway Administration.”
      Americans drive almost twice the amount UK drivers do.
      So, in conclusion, gas cars are more efficient for the American lifestyle, and electric cars are (most likely) more efficient for the European life style. In my opinion. Have an amazing day!!
      Edit: Also, want to point out that I agree with your statement about propaganda. I see it everyday, it’s bad! Car prices and gas prices are getting out of hand over here, and the current administration isn’t doing much to help the economy. We just recently shipped in baby formula from another country. Our first world nation is doing badly, if you ask me. So please pray (or send your well wishes), for us over here, because it’s getting worse every day. You should watch some videos from this guy who drives through hoods in America, it’s heartbreaking.
      All in all, I don’t want to argue with you, and most of these things are just my opinions. I want the world to be a better place, but a lot of damage has already taken
      place, and once something is changed, it can never be returned back to its former state. Like I said before, have an amazing day!!

    • @benanderson89
      @benanderson89 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerika8694 Even at 40 minutes that's still comfortably within the range of a reasonably new EV.
      Likewise, you're saying America shouldn't have small cars or EVs in general _at all_ because _some_ of the population _might_ drive long distance (which is idiotic because many EVs are capable of long road trips thanks to an ever expanding charger network), and because _you_, a single person, _might_ drive long distances to buy a bunch of food to shove in a freezer.
      I hope you realise how stupid that sounds.
      There will be tens of millions of people in the USA who will be more than adequately serviced with a Nissan Leaf or Fiat 500e.
