@@sumo.lunatic9136 Our families tend to be bigger than most European nations, we travel more often and for longer distances, and our lifestyles are completely different from Europeans, so you can’t really blame us.
@@jerika8694 that's actually not true. The average commute in the EU is 25 minutes and 27 minutes in the USA. The average heights for an adult male are 5ft 9 in the USA and 5ft 10 in Europe. Car companies have worked for a very long time to spew propaganda about small, affordable cars for decades. They don't want to sell them to you because the margins are small compared to, say, an F150.
@@benanderson89 I’m not talking about height, I hope you realize that. Also, I was not initially talking about commute. Americans travel MORE OFTEN than Europeans, we will drive for 8 hours straight just to visit family/friends. When my family and I go grocery shopping, we buy in bulk, and our car is usually filled to the brim (Nissan Altima 2009), the trunk and back seat is packed! It usually takes an hour to an hour and a half of driving in total just for a full day of grocery shopping, while the grocery shopping takes anywhere from 2-6 hours. Now, I’ll bring up average commute time for different cities in different states. In Austin, Texas, it’s 40 minutes. New York City, New York 33 minutes. Los Angeles, California 30 minutes. St. Louis, Missouri 23 minutes. Nashville, Tennessee, 25 minutes. Your commute will change depending on what state and city you live in, sometimes it’s short, other times long. Also, we can’t forget how large the USA is, and that some people live out in the country. The USA is 3.797 million mi². Europe (as a whole) is 4.066 million mi². One country is almost the same size as 44 countries combined. Because America is so vast, it’s not plausible to have electric car charging stations along the vast routes we travel. (All these facts are actually mind blowing lol) “The average UK driver is on the road for 7,745 miles a year.” “On average, Americans drive 14,263 miles per year according to the Federal Highway Administration.” Americans drive almost twice the amount UK drivers do. So, in conclusion, gas cars are more efficient for the American lifestyle, and electric cars are (most likely) more efficient for the European life style. In my opinion. Have an amazing day!! Edit: Also, want to point out that I agree with your statement about propaganda. I see it everyday, it’s bad! Car prices and gas prices are getting out of hand over here, and the current administration isn’t doing much to help the economy. We just recently shipped in baby formula from another country. Our first world nation is doing badly, if you ask me. So please pray (or send your well wishes), for us over here, because it’s getting worse every day. You should watch some videos from this guy who drives through hoods in America, it’s heartbreaking. All in all, I don’t want to argue with you, and most of these things are just my opinions. I want the world to be a better place, but a lot of damage has already taken place, and once something is changed, it can never be returned back to its former state. Like I said before, have an amazing day!!
@@jerika8694 Even at 40 minutes that's still comfortably within the range of a reasonably new EV. Likewise, you're saying America shouldn't have small cars or EVs in general _at all_ because _some_ of the population _might_ drive long distance (which is idiotic because many EVs are capable of long road trips thanks to an ever expanding charger network), and because _you_, a single person, _might_ drive long distances to buy a bunch of food to shove in a freezer. I hope you realise how stupid that sounds. There will be tens of millions of people in the USA who will be more than adequately serviced with a Nissan Leaf or Fiat 500e.

I'm honestly for electric cars for as long as they transition out of coming with weird gimmicks as early electric cars did. In the long run I hope range on most cars improves, most come with a sport option and that they become more accessible and affordable. I'm also very excited to see what potential electric sport cars could look like and how they will be developed (however any electric car could be). Seeing how most electric cars will be built the same, I'm hoping the prices don't drastically change either.
Am I correct in saying the 3+1 door option is only available in left hand drive markets in Europe? I’m in the UK and have been looking through the ones currently for sale and can’t see any with this door option. Useful video, even though I have no plans to buy one.
Probably wasn’t the first, but the Saturn SC2 Coupe had a third door like that in the late ‘90s. That one was on the driver’s side, more useful for stashing a bag in the back which is probably more common than anyone sitting in that back seat!

btw that pink looks good not gonna lie
You probably can get that rear seat folded flat if you don't have the front seat as far back as I do. Or put the front seat back once the rear seat is down, but I haven't tested that. Fiat 500e cargo would be very nice indeed!
@@johnnypovdrives good to hear that it could be possible to have a flat bed in the rear if you try hard enough, I just love how it does have everything you expect on a full blown car but downscaled I find it impractical but cute

He said it...9 seconds. I can't understand why people think this is just a feature nobody needs. Enter an highway, make an overtake, shoot in traffic...you can do all this things safely (because this isn't a Porsche) and quickly.

I am old enough to have driven in the original Fiat 500. What a fun little car. Many lawnmowers have bigger engines. The modern version is a success and the E version looks nice too.
I’m miss these 🥺 here in the States 🇺🇸 I always enjoyed driving those for my old job ☺️
That's genuinely a cool little car, I like it a lot more than I thought I would. God dammit now you have me wanting a Fiat!
It's not cool. There's no practicality at all.
@@candleproducer its a city car, no need for practicality.
All this car will be for is short rides around the city...
For example driving you kids from home to school or going grocery shopping.
You're not gonna go on a 500km trip in this thing.
@@Ennui. Then wouldn't it be better to increase the trunk space and ride two people?
@@candleproducer you've got the rear seat space to use as a "trunk" as well...
Making it a 2 seater firstly wouldn't be accurate because the original 500 was a 4 seater...
Secondly it'd just be another Smart ForTwo wannabe then.
Having 4 seats is actually practical, because you can occasionally give a lift to more than 1 person.
Sure it might not be comfortable, but as I've said before, this car is only for short city drives.
Sitting in the rear for 10 minutes won't be unbearable, unless you're a giant.

Yes indeed, it should need less maintenance than a combustion engine model, time will tell!
Just a comment on the window washers, you have to hold it a little bit longer so the wipers engage

Same here… ✌️😄 Thanks for watching!
I wish EVs were more affordable, it would be really nice not worrying about gas price anymore and your car being future proof for when petrol runs out
They will eventually.
well, electricity is not infinite either. it does not happen by itself w/o input from ppl (see power plant (nuclear/hydro/generator), massive solar/wind farms...nothing about 'power' is free or infinite. Energy "saved" on 1 end is expended on the other. Maybe in 10 yrs, battery tech will be better (more modular) and manufacturers will offer replacement cells vs trying to sell you brand new car. At least old car battery cells can be converted to solar-battery walls for home and RV use

It is extremely frustrating that they won't be bringing the 3+1 feature to the UK. I really would like that option, but it is simply because we drive on the other side of the road, as passengers would be getting out the wrong side...
Aaah that’s too bad. It’s about time you start driving on the normal side of the road! ✌️😂
@@johnnypovdrives hehe, nah.
@@johnnypovdrives Europe would be driving on the same side as the UK if it wasn’t for Napoleon. Ironic given the Romans built our oldest roads and would “ride” on the left like we do now
@@Olliebobalong True. I was just joking, I don't care which side of the road to drive, as long as they tell me before. :)
Given everywhere I normally pick up or drop off passengers are on three different private drives, the side of the road we drive on is irrelevant. But by denying the UK the 3+1 door I can guarantee my parents and aunt cannot get in the back, they're too stiff these days. Even if the 3+1 were on the driver's side it would be useful in my scenario.

Would make a great city car for sure! I wouldn't want it on the highways in Texas, my Polestar 2 feels too small lol.
It would probably get crushed in between 2 trucks in the US 😅
@@sumo.lunatic9136
Our families tend to be bigger than most European nations, we travel more often and for longer distances, and our lifestyles are completely different from Europeans, so you can’t really blame us.
@@benanderson89
I’m not talking about height, I hope you realize that.
(All these facts are actually mind blowing lol)
“The average UK driver is on the road for 7,745 miles a year.”
“On average, Americans drive 14,263 miles per year according to the Federal Highway Administration.”
Americans drive almost twice the amount UK drivers do.
I want the world to be a better place, but a lot of damage has already taken
place, and once something is changed, it can never be returned back to its former state.
Ok hold on. That opening scenery and the way that colour popped.
My guy that is GORGEOUS.

Probably wasn’t the first, but the Saturn SC2 Coupe had a third door like that in the late ‘90s. That one was on the driver’s side, more useful for stashing a bag in the back which is probably more common than anyone sitting in that back seat!
I would like to see a Jason Bourne movie, where he outruns the police chase with a Rose Gold Fiat 500e.
I love it more than the original. I just wish it came with a jetsons mode where I could play the sound effect of their car as i drive along XD. would be funny but nice to use around populated areas so they can hear there's a car around. hopefully it can be specced without auto driving but still with adaptive cruise.
I believe I read somewhere you can actually upload your own system sounds to it, but I’m not 100% sure how.
You can select either adaptive cruise control mode or full auto driving mode.
