Exciting stuff. I just grabbed a lovely crudy unrestored 1-owner KZ1000Ltd 1981 here in WA state, and am picking up lots of good tips and motivation from seeing your work.
Had a poster of a CBX on my wall as a 10-yr old kid, which I picked up at the Paris "Salon de l'Auto" in 1979 with my dad.
Thought it did not look so cool back then because of the suspended motor. Oh boy have I changed my mind since... what a cathedral.
Thanks for the inspiration and keep on trucking !

I was able to remove the head on my 79 by loosening the rear chain adjusters, shoving the back wheel as far forward as it would go, and pivot the engine. I had messed up a valve during adjustments....ALWAYSVTURN THE ENGINE IVER BY HAND, NEVER WITH RHE STARTER, AND MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE THE TACH GEAR OUT OF THE HOLDER, AS THE WORM GEAR ARRANGEMENT WILL MAKE IT CAM OUT, BREAKINGTHE HOLDER!!! Then you'll have to call Lou down in Florida for a new cam cap with the special tach gear holder!

Could you show the top end with cam cover removed...with engine turning on starter only...so oil flow to top cams can be seen..mine done seem to oil up as quick as the lower cams.

Hi Digital p . Thanks for posting each step of the CBX restoration , . They are a must see , so much detail and work you put it .. can I ask you what are the differences Between the 1979 CBX between the USA version and the European version 🤔 I'm in the UK . & I Appreciate all your hard work and attention to detail , really appreciate how you restore them back to their original former factory spec glory ...
A happy biker from the UK .. 🙏
