NIGHTS WATCH VS TARGARENYNS - ASOIAF SO4 - BATTLE REPORT: FEAST FOR CROWS

- This game was a match from the opening round of the second Rumble in the Riverlands, local tournament here in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. (Next one is August 17th prizes food and fun for 25$ message me if you want to sign up) This match saw Electricjesus with his Drogo led Targaryen list randomly paired up once again with his frequent foe Dunc, who this time was running Nights Watch lists. The scenario is Feast for Crows. Enjoy!

Thanks for the great content! Very interesting match-up, but I have to go on record as saying that that NW list would have seriously tilted me as the Targ player. It's probably a good thing we can't hear the players' voices here. If it were one of my battle-reports, I'd be trimming and bleeping like never before.
lol! That would make for good content as well! Honestly Electricjesus is such a chill guy he never lets it show so I actually could have left the audio in with 0 bleeps :p that said it was an unfortunate matchup for him as both his lists were all cav/dragons and it was an easy choice for Dunc to run this list against them.

The amount of 6's on that scorpions is just nuts :D Also, if Khal would use ED for 1 wound that Vets would be dead round 5.
The scorpions had the old gods guiding their bolts that day lol. Drogo thought he was due for a 5+ he really wanted the +1 armour save gone.

Love the truncated format as it makes it a lot more digestible. The comments, sfx, graphics and camera angles are great!
For the targ player, consider using Khaleesi because you get re-rolls while engaged and you can remove tokens. Also, Unburnt doesnt work well for a single dragon because once that dragon dies, she's pretty useless in terms of NCU abilities.
You can consider going for Xaro so that your NCUs dont fight for activations since he can proc his ability without needing to claim a zone. So, you can pass with him without losing activations and have an extra point to spend somewhere. Or you can get tycho to get the heal in. (Aemon needs to be nerfed. *Ahem*)
Overall, still a tough hill to climb with the 2 siege weapons hiding at the back but yea, targ players are.. "we live with it" lol.

I'll be sure to direct electricjesus to your comments as it seems like great advice, he is still very new to Targs but he is committed to getting better with them and this guidance will help. It was def. a bad draw for him first round as he had no non-cav/dragon list to throw out which made it an easy choice for the NW.
Great game! I was surprised at how close it was, that NW army seems like it would either win big or lose big.
Super close one! If targs had been less aggressive at the start I think it would have swung the other way.

Great to watch, but i was wondering about the terrain. How could the Palisades be in the Deployment Zone? Shouldnt be possible on terrain placement. Or am i missing something?

So… lol that’s fair it’s a camping army def not a crowd pleaser. Was built to counter an army just like the one it faced here.
