- So it turns out it is the motor magnet is what prevents the rear clip on the Super 3 from staying on. One of the magnets needs a notch in it to allow the clip to seat properly. I try to show this in the video. Thanks Jason for the tip!
thanks Mark and you too Jason! much appreciated! will have to notch mine ahead of time on Friday`s live build. 👍
Yup, thanks Jason for the tip! Let me know if your magnet is the same way, may I got a bad one? I doubt it....
Nice Mark and Jason ... Mark being sort of new ,, it so helpful to have many many of your videos to refer back to when I need to tinker or upgrade cars its really priceless .. and always interesting to watch . I have one Super III nice looking cars , I understand they had some problems with the early ones . Thanks Mark see ya soon
Thanks Jim! I am glad you find my videos helpful, that's why I do them.🙂
Nice tip Jason, nice work Mark... so who wants my Super 3 kit? LOLOL
Thanks Mayor! It was not that bad to put the notch in the magnet. I am curious if your one magnet is wrong as well, maybe I git a bad one? But I doubt it....
@@marksslotcargarage Funny I went downstairs thinking I had a Super 3 pit kit, but all mine were either XTraction or Ultra G ..
@@Gale_Force_Raceway Ah ok...
@@marksslotcargarage FWIW Mine was a Pit Kit and it is not notched either.
@@jonl8445 From what I am hearing from others it seems it is just the pit kits that have the issue. Thanks
Another great, informative video Mark! Im gonna look at mine tomorrow!
Thanks, let me know if your Super 3's are the same way. I only have the one to look at. Maybe I accidentally got two of the same magnet though the polarity of my magnets are different.
@marksslotcargarage Ok, I have one car with no notches and two cars that are like yours. That back clip is clearly not flat like it should be so im gonna work on notching out a piece of the magnet. Very odd oversight from the factory.
I have 6 pit kits and 2 of the regular ones. All the pit kits are like that, but I noticed the motor mags did not sit down all the way in the chassis and just got new ones from Jag Hobbies. That fixed both problems. Both of the regular ones (assembled by AW) were fine for both issues, including the clip fitting issues. The mags were both notched. I guess maybe I am just lazy and didn't want to bothered notching them.
Good to know the pre-built ones were ok and that Jag makes replacement magnets. Thanks for the info.
Good to know I am gonna build a couple of them this weekend
Yeah, that notch is a must or that clip just comes off way too easy. Thanks!
Glad I could help. Love this hobby.
Thanks again for the info!
Terrific video mark the factory that makes auto world chassis have no type of Quality control what so ever
Thanks! Yeah I was really surprised to see that. Unless mine was wrong for some reason. Curious if others are the same way. I only have the one Super 3 to look at.
I live 40 mints from A/W HQ ill have to say something next time I go there.
That would be great! Thanks
More of AW magic
LOL, yup...
Auto world strikes again, making only one sided magnets to save money!
It does appear that way...thanks
The other magnet is a spare like a spare tire
Well the car won't run with one motor magnet....lol
What's annoying is, the Super III all on it's own.................I bought 1 and said no more after that fiasco. it smelled the whole time and sparked no matter what adjustments were made to it, just heated up and it sits there mocking me to this day..
I feel your pain, I only have one as well and no plans to get any more. In fact I would not even have this one if my friend did not give me the Pit Kit.
why didnt you put a notch on the plastic part?
Well,
I guess you could. But then it would look like a HACK job. This way the very very little grinding you do to the magnet is hidden by the retainer clip.
I guess you could, putting the notch in the magnet was pretty easy.
Maybe it’s just me I mean I like Autoworld bodies they’re pretty cool and realistic but they’re just junk compared to what else is out there
It's not just you, that is a pretty common opinion, decent bodies but junk chassis's. Thanks
Bought one of these around a year ago. The Gulf Mustang. $19.95. Opened it up and found both body and chassis defective. Took it back for a refund. These chassis aren't something worth wasting your time on. Just plain trash.
Yeah, very poor design and quality.
Auto world bodies pretty good, not as good as a AFX, Both makers make terrible chassis. Auto world chassis are very poor quality. They could learn a lot from jag hobbies.
Agree with your for sure. Thanks!
