    Very nice! I like the tributes, a really nice touch! I'm surprised you don't have a Dave Marcis turn. And I have to say I love the Alabama Gang section! I'm a huge fan of Bonnett and the Allisons. Took a trip up to Hueytown a few years ago just to see the town, Neil Bonnett's dealership, the restaurant the "gang" hung out at, and also the cemeteries, unfortunately.

      Thanks, I like your suggestion for a Dave Marcis turn, his results in the 70's were awesome, and being able to field his own cars without much Factory support for years is an incredible accomplishment.
      I've been long time Bobby Allison fan, saw him race a few times here at the Milwaukee Mile, never visited Alabama, but a Trip to Talladega is on my list....Now I'll add Hueytown to the trip agenda......

    Nice layout and interesting car selection. The Mega G Plus cars I usually do replace the rear tires with better silicon tires and upgrade the magnets to level 42. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for checking out the video, I have raced Tyco 440-X2's & Autoworld cars for years and I only have a few AFX - I will have to upgrade the Mega G car - thanks for the tips.

    Bob, very neat stuff! Great layout. A walk down memory lane. Dang, I wanted to the AFX GT 40 run. I like a track like yours, where you can goose it going down a straight. 👍👍😎🇺🇸

    Looks like a nice little slot car track.. had a revell one on 1964 and would scoff at the ho tracks....but now they look cool to me.. how much is yours , length and are those the controllers that came with the set.. 4by 8 or 3by10 .. looking for a nice set for beginner twins who also race those outlaw wing gocarts ... This has a look and feel of one of those tracks somewhat

      Hey Allan-ts, thanks for checkout the video! This track is 10'x2.5' on a temporary base. I switch the track set up either a road course or a drag strip. The controllers I use are a mix of Tyco set controllers and Parma 45 ohm controllers.
      For a nice starter set check out the AFX international - It's a 4 lane set that comes with a good amount of track, 4 cars, controllers, etc...Check out Protinker Toys , good online dealer- if you call them they probably will give you a discount or some additional freebies if you buy from them.
      Have fun🏁

    I've always wanted the train crossing track (it was listed in the Tyco Electric Trucking catalog) to be used with a model train. This would be a good 1970s urban car chase where the bad guys have to beat the train to the crossing, then the pursuing heroes jump the track and cross over a convenient open boxcar or empty flatbed.

    • @bobattheelectricavenue
      @bobattheelectricavenue  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like your idea of jumping a boxcar or flatcar, We always either stopped by the train or crashed into it....planning a layout change this fall with a operating train line...thanks for checking out the video

    Nice video ! Does the Carrera lap counter/timer work for you because its made for a larger scale ?

    • @bobattheelectricavenue
      @bobattheelectricavenue  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, yes the Carrera Lap counter works for HO. I have raised the track about 1/2" under the lap counter so the cars can register properly.

    good on you to put a crossover in, it irks me to no end all the sets that don't include one. Specially with the layouts that obviously favour 1 lane....wait, lane 1 is 9' and lane 2 is 11'. How is that fair?

    • @bobattheelectricavenue
      @bobattheelectricavenue  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, crossovers are great for equalizing lane length...on this set-up it wasn't - my placement was purely on where I wanted the possibility of crashing your opponent!
      Check out my Rally videos, I took 1 crossover out and made it a 1 lane rally track!
      Thanks for Checking out the Video!

      @@bobattheelectricavenue I will check out that video! I have seen some sets with "offroad" track and rally cars, I thought "that'd be fun"......
      I'm into r/c crawling (a little) and I built an indoor crawler track that if you go too fast through 1 section you bounce off the track.

      The lane with the most guard rails definitely has an advantage when using cars without magnet enhancement.

      I made them in the past. I designed them to drop in automatically so we can put car back onto track quickly. The pin was offset allowing the car to track correctly.

      I am using Tyco track on this layout, but I have recently purchased a Super International set so I will be using an adjustable power pack on the next layout.

    • @bobattheelectricavenue

      I agree, It's funny because I used that AFX car after I completed the track to test the layout and probably did 50 laps.....then I wipe out on the First turn. .
      I was going to edit that out, but why, it's more fun to leave in the errors!
