- Hey guys, welcome to my review of the Star Wars Vintage Collection Poe Dameron's X-Wing Fighter by Hasbro. I have to say guys this is one beautiful ship as you will see in the review is packed with detail that you would expect in the Vintage Collection.
I admit it was on the expensive side but I honestly believe it was worth it for what you actually get. It's packed with extras and detail Hasbro have gone into should be commended. What a great vehicle to to add to your Star Wars Collection!

again why is this so much? I bought one just like this before at Walmart for $15, they are cool but way over priced at $100, I can see $40 or $50 when it comes out but over $100 is ay to much for that X wing, it does look awesome and you can put R2-D2 or BB8 in there, but for sure I will wait until black Friday or Boxing Day to get one,
thumbs up it has some cool features but the price is too high for me I will wait on this one to go on sale and then I can get two for the price of one, :)

With all the compartments and parts that move it is a great vehicle. The detail as you said is amazing and they spared no expense. Great review my friend!

All of his previous x-wings were destroyed while landed
1st one was destroyed landed on the desert planet
2nd was destroyed when the landing bay was blown up
And the third one is still fine so basically it’s not his fault they were destroyed

After watching both reviews I decided to buy the more classic Luke’s X-Wing.
The Poe definitely looks better with the updated paint apps. Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to opening these up.

I'm almost certain that in the movie, BB8 never flies in that orange X-Wing. It is R2D2 who accompanies Poe. So I will get an R2.

Well thanks to your video I went from wanting none to wanting three. One flying, one landed with the sequel cast in a group in front and one to repaint into a custom in my old RPG character’s colors. @@BossksBounty It's overpriced because Disney and Hasbro know the Vintage line sells, unless it has to do with Disney's awful films and characters like Rey, Snoke, and Rose Tico, whose merch is thankfully disappearing.
@@sjdrifter72 I disagree. Some characters like Rose and Snoke are bad but Rey is actually an amazing heroine.
@@BossksBounty in case you was unaware of this, you can fit any droid in this, bb8 or any astromech, made to comply with any scene, and as far as i know this ship never had bb8 in it on screen only R2, but either way
Thank you so much for this video! I was on the fence as of the midnight release and I rolled the dice on this vs getting Luke’s T-65. I was worried that the scale was off... but now I’m even more excited to get this in a few more days and I’m hoping we’ll get a awesome shot of this ship prior to take off in the “The Rise Of Skywalker”, I want to build a nice matching diorama to display this! I just purchased this ship off of Amazon and I'm excited to see this ship when it arrives in a few days. It will fit nicely on my shelf in my study. I just now need to purchase Poe and BB 8. A great review of this ship!!!

Do you think there will be a relaunch of a vehicle soon? like the snowspeeder of luke or some other of the classic trilogy or precuel trilogy?
I'm not a fan of the new films, but this is a beautiful piece, and your review of it was excellent. No way I'm picking it up, though, especially at that price.
I also sympathise with the plight of trying to collect anything in the UK. Everything is more expensive, and we often get only half the products that get made. I remember going to a local toy store in Torquay, and asked if they would be willing to order things for me around the time "Revenge of the Sith" came out. They said they'd be happy to, and showed me their catalogue -- and SO many items had "NOT AVAILABLE OUTSIDE THE U.S.A." tagged onto them, it was disheartening.
Yeah it can be tough, luckily we have specialist websites that can import and we also now have Hasbro UK which even get us the exclusives.
I would love to get this ship because it looks amazing, but I don’t like the $99 price point. Great video!

do other droids fit in if you want to use it for another pilot or is it set for bb8 only
I have to admit at first l was sceptical about these specially because of the quality of The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi vehicle's. But this really looks amazing! The weathering, detail & features! Hasbro is finally doing how they use to great quality vehicles! But with a price, that l think is finally worth it! Thanks for sharing!

I was saying the same as well about the poor material and quality of the ships! I passed on the TLJ toys after my disappointment of the TFA line! Damn you Disney for being so damn cheap!!
Yeah, those Force Awakens X-Wings were So Cheap and Flimsy. I remember buying Poe's Black & Orange One when they first came out at the Full $50 Retail Price and getting it out of the Box. When I held it up, You could See Light though the Panels because the Plastic was So Cheap & Thin. I immediately put it back in the Box and Returned it to Walmart. The Lady asked Me if there was Anything Wrong with it, and I told Her, Yeah! It's Not Worth $50. Which made Her laugh. I waited till they dropped to $25 and got one and got the Blue & White for $18 I think. I'll be waiting for this to Drop to around $50, because I believe it's worth that, but I can't see paying $100 for it. The same goes for Luke's.
@@brucestro18 I don't think it was Disney that was the Reason those TFA Ships were So Cheaply Made, that was All Hasbro's Decision, just like the HUGE Drop in Quality of those Early TFA Black Series Figures. I honestly Don't Think They were Ready to Handle Such a Massive Launch of So Many New Toys and Collectibles at that point. If You compare those Toys, Ships, and Figures with what They're Putting Out Now, the Difference is Night and Day!

yeah 3.75 inch, if they made it for the Black Series it would have to be 4 foot by 4 boot big! Black Series 3.75inch has finished, many of them are being repacked in the Vintage Collection. Which is where they should have been in the first place.

Fantastic! So glad I bought one now too. Mine should arrive tomorrow. Can’t wait!!!! Hope my Disney Build-A-Droid BB-8 will fit. Curious if they are planning a Vintage Collection BB-8 and how they can improve it over what has been released so far.
It would be quite a small figure so maybe they should release it in a 3 pack.

I really really want this X wing. The movie wasn’t that great but this X wing is beautiful. I love the level of detail in it and the fact that you can put in either a BB or R unit into the droid socket is really awesome.

Stunning X wing. Its probably well worth the sticker price. But I'll wait for a bit of a sale.
Its a lot better than one of the previous poe dameron x wing's where the figure barely had enough room in the cockpit.
The old force awakens bb-8 came with two of Unkar's junk scavengers.
Would an R2 unit fit in the droid port?

Your left wing's exhaust tubes are warped. I saw this problem on another post in Jedi Temple Archives. I'm hoping that this isn't common but now that I've seen two I'm a bit worried about the one I ordered.

@@BossksBounty Did you try heating them up with a hair dryer or boiling them in water. A person who owns one said they did that and they were able to get the exhaust cans back to shape.
Man, this is better than even the Power of the Force PowerFX X-wing! I don't mind the lack of electronics. The rest of the cool play features MORE than makes up for it! Plus I just love the 70's vintage paint scheme. Nothing screams vintage like orange on white! And the fact that you can put both BB-8 and R2--D2 in the droid socket and the landing gear fold up behind gear bay doors... man, that puts the old style flip-up gear to shame! I'll be getting one of these for sure!
Nearly perfect. The back landing gears slip a bit so it is hard to pose. I love this ship

They knew they needed to save face on those two cheapy versions that they pawned off on us previously. Now if we could just trade in our old ones, plus some extra cash, to get upgraded black/orange and white/blue ones too. ;)

I didn't think I would care for the orange when you look at the box, but after you showed it looks rather nice. I just wished that they included the figure with the vehicle. That would have been cool
They rarely include figures, just like the old Kenner days.
I wasn’t going to buy it until I saw this review. Now I have to. I don’t even like the orange, but that orange is painted so damn well that I can’t stop myself!

Nice review this X wing certainly grew on me. Like everything its better to see it in person. Did they make a vintage collection bb8 yet?
Would the 5POA figure fit in there? I just ask because I have the Mission series 5POA Luke X-wing so wasn’t thinking of investing in the vintage one, but might get the X-wing it’s self.
I dont see any reason why a 5POA wouldnt fit in.

Agreed! Waaay better than TFA version! That one is crap compared toTROS version. The materials used to make it and the quality was awful! For me I didn’t pay much for it due to the figure being stolen out the package and got a 20% discount. Later I ended up donated it to charity. Overall I’m happy they made a vintage versions of both Poe’s and Luke’s vintage x-wing fighters respectfully!
Really nice ship and as you say, amazing detail! It doesn't fit into my collection and at that price, even though I like the ship, the cost just kills it dead for me.
It makes me nervous as I have my eye on at AT-ST, out in December? I can see that vehicle commanding a similar price.
I felt the same when I saw it for £115 when Lukes was £98 - but as I managed to get it for £100 I pulled the trigger. AT-ST is $79.99 and is apparently due for release on 1st November

I wasn’t planning on getting this because I have Luke’s X-Wing on order, but after seeing this review I am now so tempted because that is an awesome looking fighter. I’m so broke after this latest TFF wave of stuff, but at this point what’s another $100....if I don’t get it, I know I’ll regret it. Damn...😐

Just got this for £125 with the figure and I'm really shocked on how good this x wing is!
It is a nice ship. I picked up a factory sealed one on Ebay for 80 U.S. Dollars. My only dislike is the landing gear. They are awkward to manipulate and don't stay out good. Especially the front one. It doesn't extend forward all the way and sit flat on the table. It folds in on itself with the slightest touch. (Not Vintage Collection level for sure.) Everything else is great though. I appreciate the control stick for Poe to hold onto. The cockpit looks nice. (Maybe some more paint apps on the sculpted controls inside.) The wing mechanism works great and feels quality. And yes, that droid compartment is genius. I'd love to see it re-released in the blue and white and also in the dark gray and orange.
Post Script: After fiddling with it further, I realized that by forcing the front landing skid a bit further, there is a catch that locks it in place. I think I will glue the three posts into their prospective ports, and then I will be happy with it.
They really need to redesign the OT x-wing mold. The s-foils are always wobbly and the landing gears tend to give out. Not to mention they could add the ladders and other little extras to make something truly great. Just like the skiff, when Hasbro wants to try they can pull off some great things.

Was tempted by this. I still have my original X-Wing from the 80's. The price actually made me sad when I saw it. Not really attainable for my "kids" to "play with" so aimed squarely at collectors, which...yes....I think that's a little sad to be honest. My original X-Wing is sooo wrecked and I wouldn't have it any other way. Played with that thing HARD back in the day, along with my AT-AT, Snow speeder, AT-ST and Slave 1, all of which I still have. THAT is how it should be (just my opinion)
What specific BB-8s are compatible?
One came in a 4 pack, thats the only chance you could get him I believe?

Yeah the old Poe is the same just with a nice face paint mate so will fit no probs.
