Exactly what I was looking for. And with no crappy overlay music. Thanks for uploading. 👍🏻

Thanks for this straightforward video. I've had this Snap-On driver for 25 years, never cleaned it, lubed it, or taken it apart. I followed along with this video and had the driver back to near-new condition in ten minutes.

      Thank you Sir.
      It’s a great ratchet driver.
Happy to see yours in near-new condition and to be used next 25 years. :-)

Same, mine is from about '91 and it now works perfectly!

This was fantastic. I really thought my 30 year old model from my dad was done for when the ratcheting function stopped working. Putting that springy ring back on took me the longest, but that's more due to dexterity issues. Thanks!

My NEW screwdriver wasn't locking to drive in either direction. With the help of this video (with not crappy overlay music!) I took the tool apart, lubed it with some lithium grease and now it works great. Thanks!

Excellent video - has enabled me to sort my malfunctioning driver. For those wanting service kits in the UK you can buy them from the Snap-On online shop

This video should have a love option. I own probably 15 of these and they have never been lubed since new. I’m a field mechanic and my stuff gets rained and snowed on. They definitely need a little TLC. Thank you for making this direct and to the point video!

Very helpful video. Just to add what worked for me when repairing my old Snap-On screwdrivers, the small red spring is the one in the center depression above the gear. Also, when stuffing the springs to the right and left of the gear claws, it seemed to work best for me with the right spring having 3 loops on the top and on the left claw 2 loops. Example of this shows it also at 1:01. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I've had this screwdriver for 28 years, never worked great until now. No snap ring pliers though. Got off with 2 paper clips and back on with tweezers from first aid kit at work🤫got her done though. Works great now

      Hello Rick! Congratulations!
Happy to know that it works great now!
And by using paper clips and tweezers seems to be great way instead :)

Fwiw, I reassembled mine with a common thin household oil and it gummed up again within a week. I have just now re-cleaned and lubed with a teflon oil in the hopes of avoiding a repeat gumming. A lack of further posts from me within the next couple of weeks will be indication of success.

    • @jasonlin2481
      @jasonlin2481  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that.
Maybe you can try some multipurpose grease like SuperLube.
Like using grease instead of oil.
      Good luck. :-)

Bit late but if you take the clip off the end of the shift you can actually change for the different ones from the later screwdrivers with the interchangeable ones

It’s never too late for sharing, thanks for sharing this information.
I didn’t purchase interchangeable type of them so I didn’t notice it.
It may help someone who have it. :-)

A good screwdriver but lots of pot metal used in the construction.

Does anyone have a good source to order a good rebuild kit? I don't have access to a Snap-on truck these days.
