Command & Conquer: Red Alert is a real-time strategy video game of the Command & Conquer franchise, produced by Westwood Studios and released by Virgin Interactive Entertainment in 1996.

Red Alert requires each player to use their side's strengths in order to compensate for their weaknesses, in contrast to games such as Total Annihilation or Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, in which both sides have units with similar abilities and rely on outnumbering or possessing a better balanced force than their opponent.
Players acquire credits to purchase structures and equipment by mining for ores and minerals (as Tiberium in the regular C&C series has not yet been discovered in this timeline).

in this map you can just start the game, do nothing but build up to the missile sub, build 1 missile sub, sell everything else off and have all your land units killed, and then win the game with your 1 missile sub. What a ridiculous unit

Yeah, tesla coils were such a joke in Red Alert 2, I don't know why they even bothered adding them in the game at all, to be completely honest.
I am sure that during the entire battle you have at least briefly a question: "Why didn't I use these submarines in the campaign?"

Missile submarines are by far the coolest and most lethal units in this game! I loved using them since "C&C Red Alert: Retaliation" on PS1. Great memories!
Cool. I always just used the tactic of building an impregnable base with Tesla coils, or if allies, pill boxes and gun turrets 3 deep like a ring, with only a small space to allow units through

Yes they did, and you can find it on Steam. Last week there was a big discount, and it was only on sale for $8. If you want to buy, maybe wait until Christmas, they usually do big sales there too.

Hey Zoom....You helped me via messages a week ago or so but where did you find the original C&C and the first Red alert (Both remastered) to purchase and do you know what operating system they need? Like I mentioned before (not that I'd expect you to remember lol) but I believe I have windows 8 or so...its an upgraded (hardware wise pc) but never upgraded the operating system from its 2010 version in fear of it messing up existing games like my Diablo 2 saved files. I spent like 15 years on the account and on my other pc it caused me to lose a lot of important (to me) files. So anyways can I use the 2010 windows OS (I forget what it is and am not at the pc rn) ...Sorry for the long message and if anyone else reads this book and has i out please let me know. Thank you!!!
Do you know why I stopped playing Diablo 2? Because I lost this sorceress orb that gives +3 to all skills.
I got so upset that I just said I won't play it anymore. I came back but to play a bit when the new version came out.
Anyway, if you want purchase the remastered version of RA1 and CC, you can find it on steam. And for the operation system, they said you need: OS *: Windows 8.1/10 (64-bit Version).
If you meant you want to purchase the original games, I have no idea. I also don't think they sell new anymore, but only second hand.
The versions that you can download for free on CNCNET have been compatible, and you can run them on any Windows.
havent played ra1 myself, but the graphic transition from the waters to the land looks somehow smoother than in ra2

My memory is hazy from last playing it in the 90s, but I think you can select a way point for all produced units in the OG game. Might misremember though, my memory is hazy.
Revisiting the Red Alert 1 universe with better military knowledge, the Medium Tank cannot be the Abrams and the Heavy Tank cannot be the T-80. The weight classes were wrong. Based on the era, the most lore-fitting would be:
M48 (or some modernized variant) as the Medium Tank - this would settle the part where the gun was either 90 mm or 105 mm as some modernized M48 variants used the 105 mm.
T-55 (or some modernized variant) re-scaled for double barrels as the Soviet's basic tank. The concept of Heavy Tank would be deferred to another.
When you have captured both sides' War Factories, the dilemma would be whether to build $800 or $950 tanks. They are both so close in cost and effectiveness that they both almost if not make each other obsolete and clutter up your build menu. The solution is to introduce the M60 to replace the $800 option and remove the $950 tank to be replaced with an expensive $2,500++ Abrams that will become the new Heavy Tank.
M60 (or some modernized variant) as the tank available when you have captured both sides' War Factories, overwriting the Medium Tank's build menu slot and will have some areas slightly stronger, some areas slightly weaker than the T-55. Costs $800. There are M60 modernized variants out there which look very much like the Abrams in RA1 cutscenes and fits!
Abrams as the new Heavy Tank in the game. Will be having heavy firepower and armor overriding and filling the Mammoth's role. Available when you have captured both sides' War Factories and overwrites the T-55 build menu slot. The Abrams could even be double barreled as you have combined both sides' tech. Will cost $2,500 or above. Then the old Mammoth itself will be bumped up into a higher cost and power level.
The Mammoth fills up a new power level and costs $3,500++

The Allied battleship can do pretty much the same from memory. Just set sail and ruin your enemies lives with a surprise visit that rains hell on them.
@@Kiham80 Missile subs can be aimed a lot better, plus have stealth. Counterstrike really made them pretty much Cruisers on cocaine.

boring... there is no strategy, there is 1 small corridor for enemy attack. AI does not create shipyards. There you can fight 1 vs 20 and WIN 🤣🤣🤣

I was looking for the game but the buildings graphics aren't the same ones as in the video, why are they different? I mean from the EA site the buildings look like some kind of futuristic base (which it's pretty ugly as well XD) where can I find this particular game because this is the one I loved and that I would like to play with lol

@@erbraciola1139 The Red Altert series is a lot less futuristic than the Tiberium games, but they are all under the C&C banner.
