Take up something you can do for days and nights without feeling stressed out or bored and its difficult level always adds more fun to it. For example, photography with very long exposure shots or business operations with 100+ million users.

Sir i have a question? Is it that most of the Gujarati people are unable to pass the NID entrance examination? After my results came i was in dilemma so i asked a question to one of my art sir .
The question was "will it be fine if i take a drop year this time instead of joining any other college other than NID and NIFT. I want to go for the best one so will it be fine if i prepare again and give it a next shot? I scored 55.64 by 3 days study. I think i should try again. Sir please reply me and give me your opinion as soon as possible. Thank you"
His reply was demotivating, heartbreaking and terrifying . I was shocked by his reply....
His reply was" You leave the thought of joining NID. Join earlier any institute of your choice.
NID Can't be passed by any Gujarati .

So this is a great, exciting and challenging challenge for me. He himself being a Gujarati said so. For this reason i am working day and night to prove him wrong.

I am final year mechanical engg. student Shubham Kargaonkar and aspire to do M.Des.
But I missed the major exams like CEED and NID. I want your suggestion regarding other private colleges in India and what is the futher scope if I admit there.
I recently gave DAT for MITID PUNE which was my first attempt to any exam for M.Des.
I want to know whether there are other chances for M.Des for me or am I too late??

Yes you can make a portfolio as good as a product design college grad and apply for internships.

But after seeing the NID website i didn't find any branch for automobile design for UG.
I am currently in 11th std ..

Sir, I completed my B.Des from Footwear Design and Development Institute this year and cleared Nift(written) for M.Des held on 21st January,18. However I did not appeared for NID and CEED as I wasn't sure and had planned to drop an year after grads for them. I'm very much interested in Product and Automobile design. Now since I've cleared Nift, people are suggesting me to go for it.
Sir, should I go for Nift if I'm not interested in Fashion Design? Or is there any scope for learning other designs in NIFT as i've heard that Master's courses in NIFT are not narrow structured as of Bachelor' and are more research focused.
Or should I just go with my plan A, which was to drop and prepare for NID and CEED and appear in 2k19?
Your suggestions will be very much valuable sir.
i would suggest you to stick to plan A, why study something you are not at all interested in? design is all about following your passion so do not deviate.
Addylabs So, is Nift all about Fashion only, because I've some seniors from Nift and they are like web designers in lava which has no connection with Fashion. I'm curious just because people are suggesting me that even getting a Nift is not so easy and if you are getting you should think before leaving it. So I'm just curious that will Nift let me land up to my desired destination? And thank you very much for replying Sir. Your suggestion is highly valuable.

i would suggest product design but you should read more about both disciplines before taking the final call.

I feel like I can make that product better than what it is..
Based on my research I think my field of interest can be found in Interaction design.

my daughter has admission in shristi bangalore with a branch of her liking. would it be risker to join NID as the branch is not allocated.

Addylabs so that was the point. if you do not get the branch of liking in second year that could be disappointing. what would be your guidance.
+Mohan Krishnan sir, this is very less likely because its a mutual decision from the faculty and student, if she is good at it, the faculty can judge that well and she will get her favorite branch, generally undergraduate students get good exposure and time to decide what they are really interested in and good at. So i dont think you should worry about that part :)

its ok, not that great value for money, i would say try NID at-least twice.
