Great video! I remember the HTC One (M7) was the first mobile phone that caused me to switch from the iPhone to Android. I was so enamored with the design of this phone and the speakers. I thought it was, hands down, the best looking smartphone I'd ever laid eyes on. And I believe it sill is one of the most beautiful mobile devices ever made even by 2024 standards! And the speakers back then bliew me away! And I believe they still hold their own to this day! Thank you for a nice trip down memory lane. BTW, I still have a brand spanking new M7 now in my vintage phone collection. I'll pull it out every now and then and you know what? It's still one of the best feeling handsets to hold EVER!

*The HTC One M7 is one of my favorite smartphones I'VE ever owned. Sharp LCD Display, Incredible aesthetic with the appeal of the BOOMY front-facing speakers. It would've been a top 5 ALL time in the 2010s era if:*
    - They envisioned the ultrapixel a smarter way, and used it in the FRONT instead of the back (like we see in the 10).
    - Used some way of software pixel binning and used a higher resolution count for normal daytime use, and binned down for more light/clarity at night (Sony did this back then)
    - *Heat.* I don't know about you guys, but my M7 often got so hot, I, unfortunately, had the purple fringe problem down the road.
    - Battery life was never good, only subpar, but didn't mind it with the first HTC One. It progressively got worse with its successors though..
Other than that, man, I wish I hadn't given my phone away to a relative..I even had it S-OFF, which was hard to do lol.

My mother died young and before she died I had the HTCM8. She modeled for a photo shoot for me and she used some very beautiful dresses. Having a full manual control, the M8 was wonderful for getting all kinds of different shots at really any angle. Yes I did not like the four megapixels but, when the photos were printed, they came out amazing. Really the only time the four megapixels was a problem was when cropping in. Outside of that, she was never happier with the photos. Especially since some of them thanks to HTC being able to take full resolution photos before hitting the shutter button by cashing the photos, which mind you even modern phones, don’t do cashing with full resolution, but thanks to that, I even managed to get some sneaky shots of her , as she was making decisions on how to pose and what props to use. And because it were natural photos, since I didn’t have time to really think, they came out amazing. The camera was amazing even nowadays it still holds up as long as you don’t crock and you don’t Need to blow the image up. Let’s face it, most people don’t even print images much less print them large. If they print, it’s usually going to be a 2 x 3 or a 4 x 3. The rest of the time they put them on social media and social media is always around 3 to 4 megapixels. so all you get is a compressed kind of potato version of what the HTC gives you. HTC gives you four clean megapixels and Facebook will give you four potato pixels lol.

Excellent battery life, badass headphone amp on the 3.5 jack, the speakers sounded better than my tv and the screen was bright and beautiful, the software was smooth and fast, it’s like they cared about the experience of the phone both with hardware and software, the keyboard was perfect, the radio modem made having sprint actually a good experience being so high end at the time, the camera wasn’t the best but acceptable, I still have it but it’s falling apart and barely boots cause how old the battery is

Loved this phone! I think about it often when I think about when phones were fun. Fun and not just "which has the biggest this? Which the fastest that?" That cold touch in the morning feeling a solid built smooth and beautiful piece of art that happened to also offer the best available. (especially in the UI area) Especially during the era or cartoony and toy feeling Samsungs. It just FELT premium. One can only hope a modern manufacturer takes this approach and knocks it out the park! 🤞

This phone is one of my favorite Android phones I've ever owned if not my favorite of all time. It was my my first real android smart phone.

The front facing speakers and ultrapixel PAVED THE WAY..I just wish they used the 4MP for the front then find a way to use that binning technique for the back 😤😤

An iconic phone design, and the first Android phone I considered buying. The designer, Scott Croyle, was snapped up by Apple after the M7 and M8.

The m7 and m8 changed everything, they helped HTC become one of the first companies to genuinely start competing with apple back in the day. Won't ever forget my sensation xe with beats 😢❤️

I LOVE this phone and I still have it and use it. I’m with you when you say this was one the best Android devices. This phone is my alarm because the speakers are SO loud; not even my iPhone will wake me up 100% of the time. Plus, the IR blaster?! It’s also my TV remote because the one that came with my TV broke. I wish HTC would come back with a device like this.

My HTC one m7 was my main phone and personal wifi hotspot until yesterday, from 2014-dec.2023!!!
The battery has swelled up, and I have already found and purchased all the OEM parts to replace the battery, the silver aluminum back and the usb charging port. Hopefully I can resurrect this classic excellent phone!

Can confirm, I had this phone and LOVED it at the time. Only problem is by the end of my use of the phone the camera got screwed up and gave all the pictures a purplish tint

I LOVED my M7, even with its broken camera and shitty battery life
i ran everything on this, sense, the google play edition rom, MIUI 7, Flyme OS
this body with a full screen display and i would buy it again in a heartbeat

When you say "broken camera" do you mean the low light issues?

Front facing high end stereo speakers are superior to a full screen display imo.

What a beautiful device. One of the best phones ever! I had the M8 which was pretty much the same device. An M8 video would be great! One of the first phones with more than one camera.

One of the best looking, feeling, and sounding phones of its time. Anytime i mention my all time phones, the M7 is in the conversation. How I miss those htc phones!

i totally agree with you, HTC back then was a true amazing piece of art, the boom sound, 3.5, camera was unique (or at least back then), the design and lastely the softoware. sense5 and its weather, clock, everything is where it should be.

I had that phone and absolutely loved it. But when the update came the camera turned purple when it was dark. But than I leant it to a family member and completely forgot about it. Told the person to take care of it but then about three or four months later I found the protective OtterBox case broken outside but no phone to be found. I was truly upset they didn’t take care of that phone.

Watching this on my HTC One M9. I use it as a secondary device to my RAZR 5G. With a custom ROM these One M series phones are actually quite usable in 2021.
