    Before you guy buy a motor...pull the existing one off. I as well replaced my filter and in doing so a leaf must have dropped down between the fan and the housing and made the death sound. But following, the instruction here as soon as i popped the sucker out (and yes that front screw is a bear) and dropped it down, one pesky leaf fell out. I started the blower with the fan on the floorboards and the sound and leaf were gone. I bet that happens a lot. Back to a quiet Lexus. Thanks for this video.

    Thank you so much!! You just saved me a ton of money!! I was able to fix it myself and got the part on sale thru the amazon link for $55!! It’s shameful what i was quoted to fix it by a mechanic!

      @@yanzhyvotov I was just quoted $670 to replace this part at my local dealer. Thank you @johnwrightoverlandrobotics for showing me I could save a significant cost to DIY!

    Awesome video. Thank you. Did you ever take apart the original to see if there was debris in there causing the sound?

      The ticking noise was a small stick that made its way into the blower fan. I did not determine the cause of the slight whistling noise - assumed it might just be a worn out bearing. Thanks for the question and comment!

    I’m confused. Why does the manual say arrow should be pointing up and the plastic door clip has the arrow pointing up?

    • @johnwrightoverlandingrobotics
      @johnwrightoverlandingrobotics  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @misterscruffle Air flow is pulled down through the filter (sucked). This is why the leaves/debris are found on top of the filter so they do not get into the squirrel cage of the blower motor (So arrow is down for the filter.) The plastic cover has an arrow up to indicate how it is oriented to snap into place (not direction of air flow). Hope this helps!

    Hi John, do you hear just the air running with the replacement or do you hear the motor as well?

    • @johnwrightoverlandingrobotics
      @johnwrightoverlandingrobotics  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I only hear the air, but I am out-of-town at the moment and can't go test until I get back in a couple weeks.

      @@johnwrightoverlandingrobotics No worries! My motor was making a noise and I replaced it with a 4seasons model that made noise. Ordered the one you linked and all is fine now.
