    When you stop falling, you stop learning.

    I'm just struggling a bit because somehow I don't really feel mentally well and training today was really tough for me too because I cried almost everytime before I jumped and there are the thoughts like " What are you doing here ?" "It's not your place anymore." , " You're too old. You should already jump triples." , " You won't manage to start jumping triples next year." this video helps. Thank you 😁

      Progress doesn’t go by age, it goes by how long you’ve actually skated for, it doesn’t matter how old you are

      @@orange5308True. Age itself doesn’t stop you, it’s the fear that comes with it. If you overcome it, you can learn very quickly

      My double axel took me two years to get. The axel is the hardest jump. When I finally got it, I was so happy. My double axel is my best jump now even though it took many days of falling. I felt like a failure through those two years but I learned that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

      IceSkaterSarahLyle Hey update! I got my axel but I just go in a bit now before jumping so when I go back skating I will practice to go straight into it. And I even got my double salchow once.

    This helps me so much I have been ice skating for 3 months (with a coach) I have been frustrated with myself because I can't do my cross overs and I fell ice skating for the last 3 times I went. I've wanted this so bad thought. Today I cried when I fell because I thought I was failing. My coach asked me this " you want this right?.....then your going to have to fight for it, and fighting will leave you with bruises" so I got back up and kept going

      Doggycorner I'm so glad that it helped! I think that the greatest lesson that I learned from skating was that falling is a part of life. You have to keep standing up if you are going to make it somewhere. Keep going! It's worth it!

    I've been feeling insecure lately because I always feel like I'm too old. I'm 12 and I can barely do my backwards crossovers. If I ever get good enough at skating to compete, I dread being surrounded by people so much younger than me. I feel scared because I don't know if I'll make it. I always think "maybe it's too late" and "I will never be better than people half of my age".

      Shadow Bubbles hey, Im only 15 and I started ice skating for 2 months. I started at Basic 1, and do you know where I am now? Basic 3. I jumped Basic 2 because I already knew how to do it. How? I practiced. Kids half my age were pretty bad really. And with those backward swizzles, It took me days to finally get the motion and now it's perfect. Sure there are kids like 5 that are way better but that's because they had an open opportunity earlier with the help of parents. Don't be insecure for your age..that is totally okay. Just stay your lane and enjoy your journey :)

      I started skating at 16 and now, 6 years later, I am working on doubles. I still don't cut deep into the ice like the kids who've been skating since they were 5, but I compete against them at competitions! It's never too late! Take care of your body and health, and spend time learning the moves. Have fun learning new techniques from friendly skaters and don't be afraid to ask questions. I found that good skater friends are just as important as a coach, but that differs for others i'm sure. Have fun and NEVER GIVE UP! :)

      I'm 60. I started at 58. I know this is easier to say than do, but worry less about the other skaters and more about yourself. In the end, your ultimate opponent is yourself. Are you better than you were yesterday? Last week? A year ago? Then you're doing great. There will be bad days along with the good ones, days where you're not "better than you were yesterday", but often those bad days herald new breakthroughs.
      And a bit of perspective: In the end, you'll be far and away ahead of those who are still at home on the couch. So all the props in the world for getting out there and working at it.

    This was made beautifully and all but for every skating motivational video why does it only have them falling on axels of any jump where they cross their feet. Like they never have parts where the fall when doing a spin or any other move besides a jump where they cross their feet

    • @kaylamorgan7308
      @kaylamorgan7308 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Potentially because it's a lot more likely to fall on a jump than it is a spin. Usually problematic spins are super slow or you don't hold positions long enough, which wouldn't work super well in a montage.
