I couldn't fit my grill on my deck, so I decided to build a floating deck for it in one weekend. This was such an easy build!

The deck itself was great, but your finishing touches make it look like it's meant to be there and it's now a feature of the backyard, which is a terrific reminder that simple projects can be finished to great effect.

If you’re going to do outside projects you should think about giving yourself shade so you are not directly in the sun
We don’t mind the full sun in the backyard all summer. Once my shop is done it will be so much easier to build, period. Hopefully soon!
@@diyhuntresshaha, you are psycho! I MUST have shade! I’m always dragging around umbrellas and pop-up tents when I’m doing projects outside. 😅
Great deck, looks very sturdy. I like how this project is sort of a 'karate kid' practice for building a shed or a house!

Love it. I just put my grill haphazardly on my front porch. We grill so much that I know my neighbors say to themselves "Clearly her stove/oven is broken".
Oooh so that is the issue my neighbours have! I thought it was a lifestyle choice (can't blame them)

I feel so guilty sitting here in my air conditioned room watching you sizzle.
I have to say, I have seen SEVERAL gas grill fires due to grease and it’s actually a nice safety feature to have your grill on a structure that is not connected to your house in case anything happens.

I have artificial turf can I just set on top? Since I can’t dig holes for the post?
Yes, obviously it might leave an indent, and most likely the ground won’t be level so you’ll have to use shims and blocks to level since you can’t dig.

What would an instructional video be without someone actually walking you through the process? My goal with every project is not just to “entertain”, it’s to teach and explain. It took me a long time to get comfortable in front of a camera and comments like this make me second guess my progress and my vibe. Especially on videos like this one where I’m trying a new style of delivering my story. I’m trying my best here. Please be kind.
Girl did you say 80 degrees.. 🙄... be for real. Try doing outdoor work in 114 degrees with a humidity index of HELL you can't breath.
