Love this knife! I've owned numerous folding knives over the years, including from Kershaw. This is by far my favorite, as slime as the Leek, but easier to hold in your hand. One and only downside, I've snapped the tip on my first one doing very light work. Could have been a fluke, but it broke at the point were the two steels meet. Still bought a second one and have had it for a few years with no issue. Just something to be aware of.
Thays a great knife. Been carrying for 5 years now and can get that cpm d2 screaming sharp. I own the Leek in composite as well. Noticed a marked difference between the D2 and the CPM D2. The CPM will take a much keeper edge.
Just received this knife today. So far with the initial test, I really like it. I believe it is going to replace my ZT0566cf for daily carry. It fits my hand like a glove and is super sharp out of the box. It's also a beautiful knife. I can't wait to put it to a lot more use. Thanks for the review. Also, I do like the assisted design. I have arthritis in my hands and have trouble opening some unassisted knives.
Thanks Aaron! I just took delivery of Kershaw Dividend composite blade! The knife seems as reviewed! The line between the two steels POPS in person! I got a matching EDC light it's 300 lumens and single cell AAA. IM going to fabricate a carrier for both together.
It's one of my favorite KERSHAW knives with a COMPOSITE BLADE between 3.0 and 3.010 inch blade that has a Warncliff profile and was free. Way to narrow it down there goofball. Best knife doesn't exist for you does it?
I bought this last week and got it yesterday. It's my first ever American-made knife, and my first ever Kershaw. I REALLY like the quality of the knife....by far better than CRKT or Cold Steel, in my opinion. I kind of wish this wasn't a flipper design, but it's not a huge deal breaker for me. I'm not sure where it's going to fit in to my rotation, but I'll definitely carry it.
Just got mine in last week and it us already my favorite EDC. I like it so much my little brother decided to grab one as well. Can not recommend it enough.
I like it! Just bought a Kershaw analyst to replace my venerable ZT400. Some great knives at excellent prices make these EDC's pretty tough to not purchase.
One of my favorite edc blade shapes. Ergos not great though. Because of the flipper/guard area there's not much handle left behind it. A finger choil would completely fix the issue. Actually sending mine to Way of Knife to have the choil added. Starting with my older 440hc version and see how it goes.
I wish I could buy one of those now, I've been owning so many benchmades and Spydercos that I forgot how sleek and we'll build Kershaws are. Just ordered a dividend 420hc but s35vn is my fav steel wish I knew about it when it was happening
If you get a chance, could you look into doing a review of one of Milwaukee’s hardline knives? They have 5 knives in the family: one fixed blade in AUS-8 (meh), and 4 stonewashed D2, ball-bearing action folders in various sizes & configurations. I have the 3” plain edge folder, and i think it’s a great option as a tough wear EDC
I don't know why you didn't make video for one old Kershaw model called Induction? Please present that cool knife I have, but I wanna know other new things about it!!!
What do you think of the Bastinelli Picoeur? I was thinking of buying one for some extremely concealed tactical fixed blade carry (check out Bastinelli Nuts Carry concept).
Personally I'm a bigger fan of washers than I am of bearings, mainly because all of my knives get into my work rotation and eventually get gunked up around their pivots. While normally I stray from assisted opening, I gotta say it's very satisfying and snappy on my Dividend. It's not a bad work knife and the thin stock really helps it sing through cardboard. Plus come on, it's just cool looking with that N690 / CPM-D2 composite blade. Very good ergonomics.
Harder steel at the edge allows for better edge retention and softer steel on the spine allows the blade to flex instead of snap under heavy use. It makes no sense to put that on such a thin EDC folder, it's usually reserved for hard use fixed blade and swords. In this application i think it's more of a gimmick
"... and even tip down. For those weirdos who like to do that." Why did you roll your eyes and called weirdos those who prefer to carry their knives tip down?

That’s a great forehead tan. Nice work!
I worked on it all week, glad someone finally noticed.

Your performance demonstrations make your reviews superior to many others.

Kershaw USA made knives are great.
The Dividend is my go to EDC knife. I got this one and love it.
I would definitely buy more Kershaws if they offered deassisted versions.
Takes about 10 minutes to do it yourself to any of the models.
Brandon Hvamstad some models
All you have to do is disassemble it & remove the speed safe spring.
I agree!!
Less assisted.
What I have in my pocket right now this knife is a workhorse i hard use it everyday and holds a good edge I love it!
I much prefer the slicer blade geometry of the Link to the almost Leek-like straight line of the Dividend.
I like it. I believe it would look great next to my Kershaw Knockout and Kershaw Blackout. Two old school but very well made knives.
I had a 20$ Kershaw from walmart from about 2010 up until 2 years ago. Honestly some solid knifes

all composite blades they got, i want :D :D

I really like this knife. I do wish it had a bit of jimping on the handle. It’s super sleek and can slip in the hand when closing it one handed.

Should I get the dividend composite? Love the looks, don’t really like speedsafe tho.... I’m torn
What's wrong with speedsafe?
@@realtalk4real243 nothing, just prefer good action manuals that are drop shutty.
Way more fidgety
I was looking for this at my local Walmart and it wasn’t there . They hardly carry a selection anymore , yours ?
Very nice, my s35vn dividend is a staple in my rotation.
I wish I could buy one of those now, I've been owning so many benchmades and Spydercos that I forgot how sleek and we'll build Kershaws are. Just ordered a dividend 420hc but s35vn is my fav steel wish I knew about it when it was happening
That’s a handsome looking knife. I may just have to save up my nickels and dimes, thanks Aaron
I love my Dividend. Still rock the Leek as my edc.

nothing can beat the sleek leek my friend so knife up with kershaw
Just pulled the trigger through your links on this and a matching limited edition tailswitch light
Composite blade, American made. Sold!
I don't know why you didn't make video for one old Kershaw model called Induction?
Please present that cool knife I have, but I wanna know other new things about it!!!
I miss the whirlwind
What’s your favorite medium duty Kershaw?
The handle sure looks a lot like my Benchmade 940, love it but love my Kershaw's also.
Very nice looking blade but not one i would wanna carry all the time. Looks like it would be better for shaving than cutting
A milled clip would make it look awesome 👍👍.
What do you think of the Bastinelli Picoeur? I was thinking of buying one for some extremely concealed tactical fixed blade carry (check out Bastinelli Nuts Carry concept).
They have a schrade version for a fifth of the price !
God I wish D2 and S30V didn't exist on the face of the Earth! I love N690 and composite blade with aluminum!! Darn it!
Learn to sharpen knife properly

I love my dividend but wish it wasn't speedsafe I I removed the spring in my Kershaw blur and it works better than it did assisted
How so? I ask because I have a couple blurs and might mod one if it sounds good.
Darn You Aaron, now I want a new knife! LoL
Great video
Thanks!
How is that "compound" blade crafted? Is that a lamination, a weld or something else?
Copper brazed
I has this one, is amazing!
I don't understand the reasoning behind the dual steel blade. Is it for the "cool looks" department?
Harder steel at the edge allows for better edge retention and softer steel on the spine allows the blade to flex instead of snap under heavy use. Almost all Japanese kitchen knives are a composite blade
It’s CPM-D2, not D2. The powdered version has different characteristics.
Thank goodness!
Speedsafe is great!
I think the compound blade is just a gimmick. It serves no purpose on an edc pocket knife.
Cool 😎
The handle looks short, no? So, there isn't a manual-open option?
No sadly
@@gideonstactical Thank you for your feedback.
thank u sir
Not a wharncliff design. Has to be completely straight to be define as a wharni
Real cool looking knife though I think it’s time to get rid of speed safe illegal where I live and even if it wasn’t I’d rather have a Manuel.
I doubt it's actually illegal. Where do you live?
Only takes a few minutes to deassist them
Too bad it's speedsafe. I had a composite leek and the speedsafe got gummed up. I took it apart to clean it and it never made it back together.
What? Your knife failed?
@@realtalk4real243 Yes, from normal use.
Man I'd be lost without my Leek
Earlier in the vid did you mean to say you didn’t connect with the Skyline?
"... and even tip down. For those weirdos who like to do that." Why did you roll your eyes and called weirdos those who prefer to carry their knives tip down?
Odd silly mix,just use S30 or 35 or 45 V
I think the word you mean to say is unassisted.
Maybe remove your hat before getting a spray tan. Just saying.
First baby!
give this man a cookie !
Why does Kershaw give its knives such stupid names?
Naming is hard...
I never thought that
Some are less stupid than others.
