    I’ve spent 24 years working for Audi. The c7 is %100 the best Rs made, strong chassis running gear components, solid engine and robust interior. Pops and bangs, great sound and performance.
    Compared to the new c8, cheap plastic interior, poor quality material, muted performance. The new car is NOT better built! FACT!

      I’ve just put a deposit on a c7.5. I’ve heard a few horror stories about the c8 and valve springs.
      I’ve had RS and S Audis for 10 years. The C7 has just been on my wish list since it was released. Can’t wait to collect it. My favourite RS I’ve owed was a sprint blue RS4 b7 avant. Absolutely loved that car.

    I’ve had a 3.0 BiTdi Avant for 7 years. The performance is fantastic with 645nm and 320bhp, especially in the mid range. The big plus though is that I can get up to 50 mpg on a long run and averaged 41.3 over 30,000 miles. It’s not an R/S but it’s a great alternative. Mine has almost every toy known to man too - the Vorsprung of its day. I absolutely love it.

      @@1234567robbieonly if you really want the 4.0L bi turbo engine and RS styling + suspension/brakes. Otherwise it's near identical!
      Big advantage of the diesel is the MPG which makes it more of a perfect daily driver.
      I don't regret buying the RS6 though as I knew about the fuel economy and it's such a good car to own. Can't see me buying anything else for a long time!

    The Audi RS6 C7 (and, maybe C8) Avant = In my opinion the most handsome and aggressive looking estate cars on the road.
    When I see one of these come up behind me I move aside respectfully and admire, open mouthed, in silent awe.
    PS: That car is a beautiful example. Great video.

    The infotainment isn't basic, it was well thought out, as touchscreens in cars are a hand eye coordination nightmare. I haven't seen one review on the touchscreen version in newer audis where they say it is better than the old version.
    However, touchscreens are more marketable and obviously well received because of smartphones/tablets.. but they weren't designed for use while driving.
    Anyway, that isn't a refelction on the car itself, always like the RS6 in all guises

    I just bought one these beasts, cant believe i got my dream car!!! 2014 C7 RS6 in panther black with a pan roof and heads up display. Ecu and gearbox remap to 649hp 830nm or torque. Monster car!!!

      No doubt you're enjoying it mate! Picking one of these up in a couple of weeks myself, can't wait! only 48k miles, Sepang Blue, SS seats, pan roof, (non) DRC with CETE lowering module, full stage 2 package and 18k worth of mods from previous owners. Running a slightly safer/lower torque 720hp/930nm compared to other +1000nm. Like a kid on xmas eve and counting down the hours till I pick it up. Will easily be the best car I'll have ever owned :)

    • @JP_RS6
      @JP_RS6 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sarcastixx74 sound amazing! I am enjoying it. But the map the previous owner put on was just an off the shelf product and it's doesn't play well with the gearbox, had a rev mismatch issue and it said I lost reverse gear! But it's been fine, going to MRC tuning in April for a custom stage 1 map for £1k, they are expecting it to hit 680-690hp and 900nm torque which is plenty. Stage 2 would set me back £4k and only get me to the same 720hp and 1000nm torque. So I'm not sure I'm going to push stage 2 until I can get the Wagner charge cooler and radiators to go with it.
      I have DRC on mine which is fine until it goes wrong lol.
      Sepang blue is just the best colour. I only got black because it was within my budget and close to home. So benefit of hindsight with the remap issues I may have gone else where but I'll get it running right. Just put 4 Michelin PS4S's on it at £672 per axle but well worth it.
      Sounds like you got winner with fairly low milage and lots of good mods and features. If your in the UK might see you at some shows!!! Message again when you've got it!

    • @sarcastixx74
      @sarcastixx74 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JP_RS6 My current sprint blue B8 S4 has MRC stage 2 on it, previous owner put it on and it's been absolutely faultless. Coupled with the TVS stage 2+ TCU tune from Ecotune it's been transformed and the DSG has been a total gem. To be honest I'm a bit worried about the straight line off the mark grunt of the 6 compared to it as the S4 can easily hit 60 in around 3.5 secs but I'm sure the sound of the V8 will more than make up for it! The new car has already had milltek catless downpipes fitted and was tuned by QStuning but by looks of it the gearbox hasn't been mapped to suit. Still to confirm that with QST and if true I'll not be booting it too much (if at all) until the S4 gets sold and then get it into MRC for their own stage 2 software which will include the TCU flash. Should be much cheaper as the hardware has already been done. As far as I know the OEM intercoolers are ok with upto around 750ish HP but putting that wagner cooling upgrade on will no doubt help with lowering those all important temps. I did consider a couple of panther black ones that were for sale as that colour looks amazing, it's so stealthy and menacing but unfortunately they've been sold. Good idea about the shows, but I'm up in west coast of scotland and there aint much up here to accommodate petrolheads. Would make a nice road trip down south to attend one though!

    • @JP_RS6
      @JP_RS6 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sarcastixx74 when the gearbox was running good at my current HP I hit 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. And that's if it's even been running right, I'd expect it to at least match the S4 but I've seen some hitting 3.2 seconds in good weather.
      The Wagner coolers was to help all the other components along and maybe squeeze a bit more horse power out of the stage 2 and as you say help with the heat soak.
      MRC came highly recommended so I'm looking forward to having it done. Sounds.mean enough without a miltek exhaust at the moment. Gotta sort the Mrs a car now before I do any more major mods but the Wagner kit, miltek exhaust and downpipes and stage 2 remap are all on the road map haha.
      I'm NW England near Lancaster. But my family comes from Ayrshire, Kilmarnock.
      There's a few meets in Cumbria every now and then, a happy middle ground 😁

    • @sarcastixx74
      @sarcastixx74 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JP_RS6 I'm not too far up the coast from ayrshire (beside the faslane naval base) and cumbria does sound like a good midway point, especially if on the way down to see the wifes' family in sunderland. I also couldn't bash on the 6 if it can't fully match the S4 from a standing start as it's still just a huge upgrade in every other way. One thing I am now looking at is a JXB propshaft carrier upgrade to help protect the driveshafts as there are plenty of vids around showing RS6's exploding them from a launch! The 6 is an early 50th birthday pressie to myself and would be kept low miles as I have a van for work and it'll make every chance to get in it an event! As for MRC, it's reputation speaks for itself, they also have a garage up here in Falkirk which is only 90 mins away from me, I spoke to them about the S4 when I got it and they were happy to share information even though I wasn't the original customer. I'd happily leave any car of mine in their hands.

    I have one with pan roof, cc brakes and dynamic suspension so it’s speed is less restrictive but still a standard c7 model. It is as you say an incredibly solid car. I have owned it from new managed 40mpg from it on a optimised long run but equally 34 mpg fully fully loaded boot with 4 adults up. I could never sell it for a C8. I have seen these with 100k mileage and the interiors look almost new, just with the leather seats warn in. Look after it, service properly and change the oil every year, irrespective of mileage as the hot v engine does run hot and you will be fine. I live in a hot summer country were some days I drive this and the air temperature is 47c. In the shade. The temperature gauge stays absolutely constant.

    Nice video! I have just given up my C7 RS6 (2013) with Litchfield conversion (as appeared in Top Gear mag). Did 139,000 miles all driven by me over 8 or so years. So enjoyable. Now driving a new RS5 - a really nice car, but the engine cannot complete with the V8! But 40 MPG is possible and that, at the moment, is important!! Cheers, Mark.

    Great review, I completely agree with you on that - I love a fast, sporty estate & that's a car I would happily go out to buy right now!
    I actually prefer to to the current Audis - I struggle with my Wife's A3 Edition 1, just can't get used to the tech at all. Personally, I prefer the MMI controller over a touch screen (I've had a shot of the BMW iDrive system, which is similar & it's far more intuitive) - Audi took a step back in abandoning it, imho.
    One of the very few cars I'd change my Golf R Estate for - just stunning! As for the folk complaining about you putting rubble in it? That's what an estate car is for - it's the only car you'd ever need! I got a fridge freezer onto my R, as well as a flat pack home office from IKEA🤣. Estate cars are just the best

      @@volkswizard Just finished watching your video and would agree with a lot of what you said. I use mine to cart around equipment, tools and exactly like you rubbish to the tip, it's perfect for all that and you should be using it as such. I would say one thing, having had both the air ride (facelift 2015) and now DRC (facelift 2016). The air is great and very comfortable and handles well for a big car. With DRC you lose some of the waftiness, but it is more comfortable than you think, but boy does it turn in better, and inspire you to throw it through the bends. I could not live without that now, even if it is a tad firm on poorer roads, once you are moving it's not unpleasant and honestly works supremely. I don't feel the need to modify it either, as I still have an Audi warranty and I want to keep that, as it will help. There are a few weak spots though but if you join a Facebook group like Audi RS6 C7 Owners UK, you'll get plenty of advice from people who have seen the good the bad and the ugly. I replaced a b8 RS4 with my first C7 and put another 40,000 miles on it over lockdown for work, and swapped it in for a similar age car with only 14k on the clock which I've now added 26,000 miles to. In that time I've had my fair share of little issues and one big one, but the warranty pays for itself with anything like this.

      B7 is a nice car but the DRC lottery isn't really what we'd expect from Audi. R8 isn't an RS though it is made by Audi Sport. I've owned one and while that appeals to the extrovert in me, RS6's lower key brutality is so much cooler.

    In regards to A K, that's true. But it looks meaner. Part of this is due to environmental regulations taking a toll on the price of building such a car. Combine that with a failing supply chain (which frankly probably didn't affect the C8), and you have to give Audi some grace. However, lately, the VW group have been butchering some automotive icons.
