Shaolin iron palm | 少林铁砂掌:心外无物,悟道修行

  • Shi Yanjia was full of curiosity when he first came here. He noticed that everyone in the Shaolin temple was meditating in their own way. Later he learned the Iron Palm fist with his master. Iron Palm, as the name suggests, requires hitting iron beads in the sandbag over and over again to improve palm strength.
    Shaolin has three unique treasures, with Zen being the first. Practicing martial arts is a way to access Zen. There is a method called "Zen inquiries" in the Shaolin Temple. The master keeps questioning why you are here, why you practice and why you ask, until you are enlightened. #Chinakungfu #十三亿分之一

    I studied and practiced Iron Palm for about 4 years. I only learned it not to break anything or fight and show friends any parlor tricks, I learned it for the reason that I skateboarded, been skateboarding for over 36 years now. I wanted to condition my hand and wrist so when I fell I was more resistant to injuries, which in fact helped so much. I knew I was going to get older and I want to Skateboard as long as I can so have strength. I did 2 years of Iron shin because getting whacked in the shin hurts and I became more resistant to pain when I got one. I learned one art to better myself and for another art. My teacher said that is what Martial Arts is about. He also said 95% of students wanna learn Iron Palm just to fight and break things. I never once believed that's what it was for.

      @@bramfaiyaz9172 No that's with the back of the hand as to a slap from the front of the hand which would create more injuries due to the fact that the hand and the body are all moving forward in a natural direction, so generating more power so causing greater potential damage to the individual body , hence a potential too couse termination of the person.
      The back of the hand strike too me would instigate, breaking of the individual body, bones but too do it that individual would have to be in the right position so you could execute the back hand strike, were as open parm strike the individual just has to be in arms length away too execute the strike.

    The repetitive conditioning of certain body parts , the iron jacket , the Phoenix eye fist , even the head can break tiles and large clay pots. This repetitive practice of years is what shaolin is known for . Tai chi is the great grandfather of the shaolin temple , and arts like Qigong and baugua are also practiced for many years and takes time to master. I have much respect and admiration for the shaolin temple in Hunan and the Wu Dan temple as well. Now that I'm older retired and I haven't killed anyone hahaha I will continue sharpening my Tai chi skills .

I've been brainstorming some dream dojo ideas... like, martial arts and relaxation exercise dojo association or foundation...? Sticky claw hand striking... maybe some other stuff as well... practice bo staffs, suruchins, and rope darts... good scheduling and planning could be imperative to success, and always remember to pace yourself... with enough training and perseverance, the most daunting obstacles can be approached with ease and traversed...

    In high school I used to walk down the street and punch brick walls just to see how hard i could hit them. Usually, the skin would come off some on my knuckles from the rough brick if it wasn't the smooth kind. Watching him hit the tree reminded me of when I lived in the mountains years back and picked a cedar tree out in the yard that I both punched and kicked almost every day. Yeah, my hands are messed up years later but more from broken fingers playing football, basketball, and sports. I also used to work out in my attic on a heavy bag friend gave me..w/out gloves. Fist on canvas. After an hour beating on the heavy bag no gloves you can take the skin off of the knuckles, but it teaches you how to punch correctly especially so you don't break your wrist smashing the bag.

    That premise would make a good anime or movie. Everyone is born with Devils in their hearts. The powerful could be those who allow the devil to rule their hearts and on the flip side The powerful can also be those who have purged their hearts of all devils. The hero is born with no devils, which only happens once every thousand years. Or the hero is born with one devil who is weak and evil, the both get stronger and battle for dominance. Or the hero has multiple devils in his heart but uses them for good. I think Devil Hearts is a good name.

    From my Ranton knowledge, the story in this video is probably for the camera since training happens in the training hall and there is only beatings and yelling and your master does not sit down with you and tell these deep things during training.

      Are u joking me, almost ALL mma fighters HAVE a strong traditional background. This guy is just an actor, if you had even a little training you could tell that in 10 seconds. Only fake traditional guys talk that way. You dont use the makiwara, the iron palm bag, you dont make ditdajow, you dont sanda or kumite..you cant maintain a sword, you have never been in as fight... yet you think of yourselves as "traditional"

      Warriors usually only look for Strength and endurence. But, more often than not find themselves. If not, they died, because thats how it was(written in many books about warfare). I.E. depending on what you look for,.. Shaolin probably offer a way. Ufc only offers Body strength, no spirituality.

      There is an old saying about real fights: If you are lucky, everything works; if you are unlucky, nothing works. Even the highest skilled will fade and die. Moral: Don't get so caught up in "works, don't work" if you train something well enough, it is enough. Why -- Don't limit your training, Training has no boundaries.

      Well it won't lol besides you are missing the point on why they train and why they do what they do. It's not to win fights. This man changed for the better. He was shy amd timid and now he has confidence and strength. He's not doing this to beat up the other person. He did it to better himself.

    • @adandyguyinspace5783
      @adandyguyinspace5783 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CresentMoon18 I didn't miss anything. You're free to your objectively wrong opinion that it won't work. To say it won't is a generalization which is logically fallacious. Instead it's realistic to say "depends on who's using it". BJJ wins in UFC but yet there's videos of it losing on the street. Even the Gracies covered videos of it losing on the street. You guys miss the point that there's no such thing as "best fighting style" and that anything can lose. Cya.
