I would suggest cooking raw rather than soaking in warm water.
I started cooking with jeera seeds, onion, garlic and ginger, until Onion turns its colour to brown than I add raw jackfruit and cook it in medium flame 🔥 5-10 mins than I add chop tomatoes, coriander, jeera powder, and bit of meat masala(optional). Then I cook with the lid close until it gets soft I add water and put it in high flame to boil and garnish with coriander leaves. I learnt this recipe from mom. And till date I cook the same way❤️
