Just got done ripping this custom camber in upstate NY as a demo, had a blast! First camber I’ve tried. Didn’t catch at all once edge to edge and I’m fairly intermediate to inexperienced rider. It was a bit stiff and heavy for me personally, but that def helps with feeling damp and don’t have to use as much leg strength to dig in on hard carves. Loved it for swallow carves but didn’t feel to springy to me. Loved ripping my toe side. Skidded out a few times on heel. Def felt comfortable hard charging. Still not sure if I like a camber or a rocker more. I like the surfy edge to edge feel but it was nice feeling secure too. Wish I had pics I was laying it downnn! I liked the width too! I’m actually 5’8 size 10 and 145 lbs and they had a 154. Was afraid it would be too big as I think I’m about a 152 but overall it was fine. Def powerful not as playful.
Hey TJ, Is burton custom camber less or more stiff than burton free thinker? And what would be your preference between these 2 boards as all mountain board?
Everyone hates on Burton but my 22/23 Custom Camber is pretty much the board I always want to grab on the first day when I’m not sure what I want to do or how the snow is etc.. it’s just a super fun, predictable, do anything board. I don’t have a ton of different brands to compare it to but IMO it’s the perfect do anything board. The new forces are perfect on it too, pretty much the exact set up I’m rockin
I picked one up last year after ride similar style boards from endeavor, capita, and ride. My only gripe is edgehold, and that's something that comes up often in reviews about burton. In perfect snow is negligible, but if you get into some harder snow its noticeably subpar compared to others ive been on. That being said, its a fun board imo. The slippage you get is predictable/controllable, so it not a big deal if you're a good rider. Every other attribute is great imo
@@szaret1 I have a 23/24 Custom 156. I havent had a problem with edge hold. Could just be my experience. Admittedly, I also don't have a ton of board time with other boards. Wondering which others you have in mind whose edge hold was better.
@@szaret1Correct. I rode Burton for seven years until I tried other brands and learned just how bad the edge hold was in everything but perfect snow and pow.
Nice Method! I have been riding a custom for sometime now with lots of family tree boards in between and always come back to the custom. I size up for free riding. I prefer a board with a tail to pop off and the stability/ effective edge of full camber. I love it for pow.
Hi TJ! Love your reviews, and how clear you rate them. Questions if you may: have you ridden the custom x camber? How does the standard one compare to it? Also, how would you compare them both with the Capita super DOA?
Got a custom two years ago. I think it was too much board for me as a beginner. Just picked up a ripcord hoping it will help me progress a bit better. For what its worth I only board about a half dozen times a year.
Love my Custom Camber - come back to it as the board Id keep for a one board quiver … not really sure why people don’t like the edge hold, personally I find it’s the right balance between something washy like the Capita Mercury and anything with magna-traction which I find grips too much and trips up eventually … boards are meant to slide, aren’t they?
nice! i've riden the custom camber 154 for a few seasons, its an awesome board. now im looking for something a bit more directional, i have my eyes on the superpig 148. would you say that's a big step up? how does it compare? I'm you size basically
I never had this one but I had a 2009 custom x and it was the best board I ever owned. Unfortunately I did damage it and replaced it with a neversummer protosynthesis which I absolutely hate. I realized non-camber boards are not for me.
how good is the lib tech cold brew? i picked one up it was on sale for a great price. i just kinda want to get a review before i take it out. I mostly ride resorts with my buddies nothing crazy hit some jumps here and there
I've got an older libtech cold brew, from 2021 or 2022 season I guess, it's a good allrounder, it just works, I've done smaller jumps on it, works, slopes, work, a bit of pow, works, can't say any negatives about it, maybe it could have a bit more popp, but it's not a freestyle board so

Would love to see you review the Burton Process!
Yeah the process camber would be a cool review
TJ always have the best reviews, enjoyable to watch.

Just needs to cover womens boards
Snowboard instructor here. Loving my first Burton - a Custom Camber from 2024.
Wife: you need to lose weight
Me: TJ is 5'10 and 155 lbs. I need to snowboard year-round.

In reality there aren’t that many people who ‘hates’ Burton per se. And even so most of it stems from jealously.
@ saying everyone was a little harsh, you know what I’m saying

Accurate review. I have multiple customs. Dont ride them much tho. Too stiff.
I've been considering this board quite a bit. I'm 157lbs 11us boot and 6'0", would you mind recommending a size? Really enjoy your videos.

Hey, are you happy with ripcord after custom? I bought too custom, but for me As more beginner i fell stiffness too much 😊

It doesn't compare, 2 different boards.
@@ShanQueefus thats why I'm asking. I've never riden a stiff diretional volume shifted board before.
TJ, whats your weight? 65kg, 5'8 and Burton calculator recommends 150 or 154. I'm not sure which oune would be better for me.
Always been a big custom fan

if bindings are setup at reference it leverages the twin flex?
Hey TJ, whats your stance width and angles?
any chance u can test whitespace pro board?
it is in the pipeline
Tj crushing the park on a burton staple of their line up…. Loving the hoody too but how cold is your house!?
hahah just cool enough to wear a hoodie

Do the Custom Flying V for something weird some time. LoL
I rode Burton for almost a decade and the k2 passport and alchemist have been freeride revelations to me. The edge hold alone is worth it.
What's the competition?
How much do you weigh riding the 154 cm?
My fat arse just got a 154 cm too
What binding degree angles do you run
15, -15
Test the doughboy!
id love to!
Good board, but at that pricepoint its not worth it =) Thanks for the good review
I'm glad to hear you found the review helpful man, thanks!
Most uncomfortable I have seen TJ doing spins/butters/flat land tricks. I’ll pass on this despite its reputation.😮
