Great video Brian- but how do you tour Bristol without mentioning Roger Williams College! I attended there in 1976. Looks like Bristol grew up a bit since then. Also love “the sun doesn’t care how much wine you drank. It’s coming to get you!” Classic!
Oh man Tom. I just didn't do Bristol justice being there just one night. I think RW even has more bay view dorms now and a nice sailing program. Oh and Bristol has some great breweries now too. Thanks for watching!
Great video. My summer stomping grounds -- I keep a boat moored off Jamestown. Narragansett Bay is a fantastic place for day boating -- dozens of interesting harbors to explore, lovely coves to anchor in and go for a swim, an endless, changing array of yachts to google in Newport. How deep is the water in the cove in Island park? Could you bring a large center console up to the dock behind the waterfront restaurant? You might have mentioned the Herreshoff Museum in Bristol -- it has a fascinating array of antique yachts.
Crazy that we lived in Warren but have never been to Hereshoff. Must go there sometime. Totally agree on all your positives. You can fit a large center console at the dock. Probably 40 ft long. Gets busy on weekends especially with live music. Otherwise it's wide open. Depth is 6 I believe throughout. Our Hog Island friends come there on a Jupiter 37 LOA. Plenty of 30 footers tie up there.
Unfortunately there is a 25' fixed bridge that prevents larger sailboats from entering the cove. There are mooring balls on the Sakonnet river just outside the cove that have reasonable protection. Not sure who manages them. Possibly Standish Boatyard in Tiverton. Sunset Cove and Island Park would just be a short dinghy ride away.

What is the weight or size limit on the moring balls in that area? My boat is a 54 cat.
