I’ve been waiting for this thank you
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@Techtablets I know this might be a huge request but can you do a after months long term review
What a big step up for Xiaomi and the Pad 6 has a premium design too. Well done Chris.
THANK YOU for your very detail and comprehensive review! This is by far the best and illuminating review on this Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet that I have seen!
Good they reached out! Glad for you! And i love the snapdragon 870
Yes was a nice surprise after they cut me off for the Poco F5 and 13 Ultra. The SD870 aril holds up so well! Great chipset.
I got this tablet recently and it's wonderful. I don't know why people keep complaining about the headphone jack being missing on budget tablets when even flagship devices abandoned it long ago. I see no one complaining about the IPad not having one...
Because many people are spec noobs and only go by the ports etc while in fact it supports true wireless audio etc since it has a build in dac so even them cheap 3.5mm to usb adapter will work
I use Xiaomi buds exclusively, have ditched a while ago the wired headphones.
Thanks for the video Chris.
Thanks for watching 👍
My pad 5 still going strong after 2-3 years since i own it. I got it back then for a very good offer at about 260-270euro and such a great tablet... best value for the money overall in my opinion for like 2 years back and even for last year, maybe. I don't think i'll upgrade even though that sd 870 is very tempting, but i feel not many things changed that much. i was impressed about the cameras too, even though it's not a tablet's purpose it's a nice touch. one of the best camera quality wise if you don't put samsung and apple... and definitely the best for the budget.
Mi Pad 5 is still good and the pad 6. They were also cheaper back then.
hey could you tell me what's your current android version ? how's the software support for mi pad ?
Android 13 and its decent. Dont expect it to have the latest security patch
My Pad 5 is running MIUI 14, Android 13, 1 Apr 23 patch.
@@jasonyoung9735 yes. same Android 13 april 23 patch. MIUI 14.0.3
I ended up importing the Pad 6 Pro (8+256) and keyboard case for 405 GBP here in the UK, absolutely buzzing with it so far! You're right about the keyboard too mate it's great to type on, better than i expected!
Glad to hear that, yes the keyboard is great!
@@Techtablets kind of wish I had gone with the touchpad keyboard, but they gave me a 50% discount on the regular one so I couldn't pass it up at 40 pounds haha. Really rate Trading Shenzhen, thanks again to you Chris for introducing me to them ages ago
Thinking of getting this tablet but official store had 6GB + 128 GB. I have never used Xiaomi products before. What site did you purchase your import from? I have heard horror stories from Ali Express aswell. Otherwise the OnePlus tab after I get key worker discount is also very very tempting.
Can the Pro model use video streaming apps like Netflix and Disney+ in HD?
@@BensoftMedia yes mate full HD works in Netflix and Amazon prime and Disney plus. Plays 4k on TH-cam no problems too
Finally, thanks for the re-upload
Sorry, I miss the stylus test in the first edit so added it and re-uploaded!!
Just purchased this tablet, can't wait to try it out!
got mine and I'm Loving it. ❤❤❤
A solid tablet from Xiaomi👍. Its truly well rounded and has no majour shortcomings! Apart from the lack of headphone jack and expandable storage! Why tablets that are huge in size lack these features, makes no sense to me what so ever! Its also great to see the lack of bloat ware and video out feature here! Amoled on the pad 6 would've been simply perfect though!
Thank you for the comprehensive detailed review Chris Sir as always ✌👌
Yes with an OLED or ALOMED, plus 3.5mm it would be perfect!
How else are they supposed to sell bluetooth earphones?
Hi! did buy it from their store or online ?
Hi Chris, thanks for the review. Would you recommend this for photo/video editing?
So Xiaomi is not dead after all :) good to see you managed to remain objective when reviewing a xiaomi Product! Thank you
Nope, I was surprised they reached out and said hey do you want to review it. Sure! I thought I was cut off, maybe just the phones or Poco/Redmi??
@@Techtablets Please review Poco F5 (Redmi Note 12 Turbo)
After long time watching your video
Thank you.
Hi Chris, been a follower for a long time on the website and just found the youtube channel is up to date. Will you be reviewing the Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro as not sure weather to go for this or the Samsung Tab 9+? Also, is there any issues / things to consider if ordering the Chinese model from Giztop? Thanks
Mate great review as usual! Should i buy this global version of the pad 6 here in the UK or import a pad 6 pro from china with more ram and get change back?
I second some of the others and can confirm the Pad 5 is a fantastic tablet for the price, and even above that. Much better than a basic iPad and the 6 will probably be the same. Get this if you're thinking about it.
Looks amazing
Hi Chris, thank you so much for you reviews. Great review, got myself a MiPad 5 after watching your past videos. However it seems like not too much of a big upgrade to go for however I am really curious about the stylus. Would you also test the new pen with MiPad 5 and if the improved latency benefits the MiPad 5?
I would I no longer have my MiPad 5 to test that.
Honestly, no bloatware alone makes this this a first option compared to the competitors. I ordered the exact same model as this review. Looking forward to using it.
Nice review as always. Just asking if this tablet and the Pro version supports usb c docking station? Like those with HDMI, ethernet, usb, 3.5mm, and PD ?
Yes it does
Btw, it's refreshing to see your new background. It's sleek, neat and clean ❤
I want to know more about the PC mode in this tablet… Hope you can cover on that area. As there is no youtubers is talking about it.. yet
Would you recommend the original stylus or the cheaper Logitech Crayon?
Great review as always! For me, These days OLED omission is a deal-breaker.
Agreed! It is a bit. Such a shame. But then I always have the burn in police show up in the comments.
@@Techtablets lol, burn in police. Let them have their inferior LCD IPS screens or worse TN. Ha, life's to short to worry about screen burn. Use it, enjoy it,
Exactly and if you don't set the screen time out to 30 minutes and run 100% brightness non stop you wont have burn in. My LG CX OLED is coming up to 3 years and I use it all the day no burn in!
A good LCD can still look terrific. And there's no PWM
I have the Chinese version of the Pad 6 and the Keyboard case, which has a touchpad which works great. Also the USB port on this tab is 3.2 with WiFi AX 6.
whats the difference between global version and chinease version ? 🙏🏽
thanks for the review, pad 6 global version is taking too long so got a mi pad 5 instead.
That thumbnail is simply splendid.
Thank you! Glad you like it.
Not sure why TH-cam isn't notifying me of your uploads 😢 ... I have manually go to your channel to see what you've been uploading...
Whats the dolby vision certification means here? Does it enables it in supported apps like Disney+?
I have the pad 5 6\256 and the ips screen is amazing, I was legit suprised it is not an oled and it is this good quality.
Thanks for your informative and detailed reviews Chris. Fellow Antipodean, currently in Thailand where I can obtain an Eng/Chinese 6 pro 8/256 for about 80% of the price of a 6 8/256. Grey Import. Do you think the hassle of the non international version is worth the saving? Hope you can comment. Thanks
What would you recommend to me?
To buy a 2020 Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Pro or this brand new Xiaomi Pad 6.
I wanted mainly for studying.
Excellent review. If they would have had some SD card support they would have gotten a sale and order. Thanks!
Smartphone nowadays has removed that slot too
Cardreader or even external sdd via otg works
Pretty cool!
It is a very nice tablet. Xiaomi's also not bothered with bloatware or adverts so all good. Just missing 3.5mm jack and MicroSD support.
What app you use to open book? 😊
The "missing" bloatwares have happened to global Redmi Pad as well. Guess they take a different strategy with their tablets, such as taking profits from smartphones to subsidize tablet so they can gain market share from, say, Huawei which is actually quite strong in tablets (and notebooks) with their SuperDevice branded feature.
Whichever it is it's such a nice pleasant change from the bloatware mess from before. I hope they keep it up and do this with the Xiaomi phones. Keep the cheaper Poco and Redmi's with bloat if they must do it.
Yeah I noticed this lack of bloatware on my global Xiaomi Pad 5, though not with my Poco F4 GT. 🙃
@@thecarboy95 like I said, it's only on tablets. I guess there's a correlation with the lack of mobile network, as the one having it is China exclusive and AFAIK the China ROM still has bloatwares because the Chinese buyers are fine with it so long as they can get the device for cheap.
Great review, Chris! I believe we should normalize with no 3.5 mm jack, no GPS, no Sim connectivity in tablets today, which is a shame!
Though, the Vivo IQOO Pad with Dimensity 9000+ or the Oneplus Pad seems to be more appealing price and performance value. Although, I'd go with the Vivo for the build quality and it costs $399.
Great review and getting mine tomorrow 🎉🎉 i paid 265 bucks for the 256gb 8gb ram version and got the keyboard case for 58 buvks 🎉🎉
Wow great deal!
That's a great deal!
I just got my 8/256 model :) excellent price to performance ratio!
Could please share what is the drawing app you use during the video?
Very nice! Sure it's Bamboo. Enjoy the tablet.
Will you be reviewing the 2023 version of the Huawei Matepad 11? I'm thinking which of these two I should get as my univ tablet.
If they send it to me yes.
so I was waiting for exactly that, after I abandoned an idea to purchase the chineese version, BUT they are now talking about PAD 6 MAX... sooo... waiting for the review of that as well! :)
Xiaomi pad 6 Max really? When is that due?
@@Techtablets Yeah, well it just appeared recently, google the pad 6 max... seems it is slightly larger though. Not sure about the specs yet..
Hi friend, need an advice, between xiaomi pad 6 and lenovo p11 pro 2gen??..thanks..keep up good working....portugal
P11 pro for the screen everything else this unit.
Very nice design, good specs for it's price.
would have loved to see geekbench 6 scores as well since you showed other charts..
Could you try the Xiaomi Pen Gen 2 on the Mi Pad 5? The 1st Gen had a bit of problems and i would like to know If It could be solved just by buying this new one, instado of the whole tablet. Thanks
does the stylus 2 have a tilt sensor as well as pressure? How much does it differ from Apple and Samsung on a 1 to 10 scale? Is it comfortable for simple architectural/geometric drawings?
Compared to my Tab S 8 Ultra S-Pen or the Apple pencil I had on my iPad Pro M1 it's a 6.5 out of 10. Not quite as accurate, fast or with the same feeling. Tilt sensor no, It doesn't the 4096 pressure levels. Q: comfortable for simple architectural/geometric drawings. Yes I would think so.
mi 6pro/max or ipad 5, with pencil and stylus involved?
Whenever I'm looking for a gadget review, I always look first for TechTablets review
Great to hear that!
13:19 what ebook app is that? i love how it turn pages
Google Play Books.
ooh the global version already out is it? this one is the global version?
My wife and i have bought this tablet to our daugther for 17. birthday, we bought version 6Gb RAM, 128 Gb ROM and we buy the keyboard and Xiaomi pen(2nd gen) and tablet is fantastic. Daughter is super happy, she is using tablet like laptop, and she draw fantastic pictures, screen is also fantastic for working and for watching movies and showss, battery is also super, speakers also super, and this tablet has no flaws, tablet is completly fantastic and you get much more for price that you pay. Greetings from Serbia
Glad to her that she likes it. Thanks for the comment.
Can you please help me decide between the pad 6(256GB) / or pad 6 pro(8-128GB) knowing that they cost roughly the same at 300$ , does the 870 start outdating and should i aim for getting a more future proof CPU (8+gen1) ?
Please note that i'm not going to use it for gaming, it's only for studying
What do you think ? Thanks in advance
You did not talk about usb-c display output. Do you think that will inplement a pc or dex mode?
It's mentioned @04:19
does the redmi pad and redmi pad SE have pen support and palm rejection? (not this pad 5 in the video)
Hello from portugal...here theres no acessories seling...where can i buy the case and pen?...thanks👍👍
Chris from TechTablets ThanksMuch!
Thanks for watching as always!
Can you please review the Nubia Z50????
Though it is a China only device, it’s the cheapest SD8 Gen2. Also with decent cameras.
Overall performance? And usage rate?
This or the mi pad 6 pro for daily usage productivity tasks for average users?
Excellent review of this great tablet 👌
But no 3.5 mm jack in a tablet is just wack...
Such a shame I think a tablet really needs a 3.5mm jack. Especially one that can game so well!
Good day guys! Does it work with nintendo switch pro controller?
Xiaomis tablets have been really solid this year. My only issue with this is the hardware is near identical to the xiaomi pad 5, the only upgrades seem to be minor screen/cpu and battery bumps you will barely notice. So it seems the pad 5 is probably still a better option given the reduced price now. Also it seems xiaomi and oneplus too seem to have stripped out some of the Google specific tablet features and additions they introduced in android 13. I almost feel like the Xiaomi pad 6 pro is really the best deal from this years android tablets, given the fact it has a Snapdragon Gen 1 and video out, making it pretty unique and probably the best android gaming tablet out there at an affordable price, shame its China only.
Yes the upgrades are very minor compared to the the 5. And no Pro model global is a real shame and error. It should also be global.
There is significant upgrades IMO 144Hz, higher screen resolution, wifi 6, CPU and GPU bumps - Giztop has both the pad 5 and pad 6 at 299 USD so its a no brainer - Pad 6 any day.
@@russell2496 $399*
@@Techtabletshdmi out too (by using an usb-c adapter)
@@russell2496 For the same price, sure. But if 5 is cheaper OR you already have it, like me, no need to get 6, or?
Any chances for the pro version to be global?
my mipad 4 is dying on me. Trying to find a china mini version type to replace it for reading purpose. Any recommendations?
Is there a persistent dock on the software?
Hello! Does it have USB-C video out?
Do you know if Xiaomi will release a global version of Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro?
No bloatware, minimal ads pop up, display out
That's a fine upgrade
Sure is they have done well. The no bloat ware and ads was a big surprise I hope they keep it up.
Can you do a comparison of this with blackview tab15?
Hi,
I connected my Pad 6 to an external monitor using USB-C cable, but it is only getting 1080@60hz. Is there any way to change external monitor resolution to 4k?
I bought pad 6 8gb ram 256 storage , its amazing for gaming
Where to purchase keyboard and stylus?
I just bought the 8gb 128gb ver for 260usd. They include free keyboard case for early bird deal😊.
Link?
Could i know your widget weather, look so clean
Any plans for the Honor 90 Sir Chris? It seems to have a very good camera system so far.
Yes working on it. 😃
Awesome! Thank you. A brief side-by-side comparison with some phones of the same price range would be gladly appreciated (of course if you still have them).
Weighing this up against the Samsun S6 Lite. I like the fact I can use this with a screen via an HDMI. Shame about the lack of jack. I can't get on with wireless headphones. Also, you have to buy the pen with it. What's the reflection like on the screen? I like matte finishes. Took me ages to find a matte finish laptop in HCMC. Would have looked at the TClL matepad but they don't do them here.
Not sure if i missed it but does it come with Google Playstore stock on Global edition?
Yes PlayStore is there.
Pretty sweet device for the price. Btw, have you tried cross compatibility of the pen? Does it work on iPad OS or other Android tablets too?
Just curious as the logic of active pen is similar. 😅
Pen doesn't seem to work on my other tablets no. Not on my Tab S8 Ultra or Huawei MatePad 11
@@Techtablets Oh.. anyway at this price point proprietary compatibility is good too. :)
Where to buy? I'm living in the Netherlands and would love the global model! Don't want to deal with the Chinese rom not having Google apps from the box or after hard reset like my ancient mi pad 2..
when do you think Lenovo will launch Lenovo Tab Pro 12.7?
Im still waiting for lenovo legion y700 this late july. Apparently the tablet side of things is still alive, only the phones were discontinued :(
No plans to buy that tablet sorry.
Can you please provide a purchase link
I'm a heavy user of pad 5 tablet and i kid you not about the battery life is so good. even after a year or 2
What's the approximate price with the pen and keyboard included?
About 550 euros all up I think. Becomes a little expensive with the pen and keyboard.
Anyone knows how to open multiple Word windows on Android 13? I really struggle finding it. Coming from iPad, this is something I'd like to use.
What's the Android update policy on this one?
Why are the widgets different from the pro version?I don't understand
Great job from Xiaomi , looks beautiful for 400€ ❤ !!!! But it could have a little stronger battery and faster charging ( 65W Mi-Turbo ) !!!! And it's good if it has an option for external sim card ( on usb kit ) !!!! P.S. some good PowerBank is the best option ( gadget ) for battery life !!! 👈
Im so bummed out that the pro doesn't have a global version, but pad 6 is still great either way.
A seller on ebay is selling pros that are global
@@hove131don’t exist
Can you do split screen while having floating window ?? Thanks !
yes
Does anyone know how the edge protection is with the official cases?
TechTablets is back on reviewing Xiaomi.
This time it's a *Tablet* 😅
Yes if was a surprise but good to see!!
XP6PRO or Matepad Air?
Hi, could a EU or Global pad 6 rom could work on a pad 6 pro?
Could you send the link of the pad?
Is the advertisement in the system are present in the Chinese version of 6 pro? I can't decide which one to choose: 6 pro Chinese or 6 global...
No I didn 't see any with my Chinese model, but that can change at any time with updates.
@@Techtablets thank you
Update policy?
The only downside for me that you forgot at the end is the lack of GPS. I fly airplane sometimes and I would like to use it for nav (SDVFR) but I stil consider to buy it .
Seems only the cheaper tablets seem to include the GPS like the Teclast T50 Pro.
@@Techtablets that the choice they made.
