What nobody talks about is that Oled on mobile is very bad for the eyes (the PWM flickering) compared to IPS. For productivity or long duration media/gaming IPS is better. Keen to know if anybody has thoughts on this :) As a side note, I've used my Xiaomi Mi 10T pro for 3-4 years now every day for all sorts of things. Still works perfectly, occasionally a strange problem with the volume button sticking but that went away both times after a day or so. The battery is great after probably around 1200 cycles and is still at about 95% capacity. I never let it run down to dead, and rarely let it get below 20%-30% charge just because that's the area with this chemistry that does the most damage, out of all the things you could do to damage the cells. Thanks for the video again Chris

Looks like a real good upgrade from a Pad 6 but considering I only really use my tablet for light office work and media consumption I would probably pass up on this for now. Until the time comes that the Pad 6 I have is not up to par with my current usage. would've loved it if it had an OLED panel and MicroSD card support that would make Xiaomi tabs even better. I can live without 4g/5g sim card for the tablet but a MicroSD would've made the experience a lot of pleasant I don't like running out of space 😂
Hi Chris, nice review for the 6S Pro. How do you think this Mi 6S Pro 8GB RAM/256 compares to Mi 6 Pro 12GB RAM/256? As the 6S Pro has newer Snapdragon 8gen2 vs 6 Pro's 8+gen1, does the CPU upgrade brings significant improvement on multitasking apps? Thank you for your help.
Hey there brother , The Chinese model of the 6s pro 8gb ram and 256gb is on sale for 509$ alone. it is a Chinese model so will the official service repair fix this if it were broken? Anyway, amazing review.
Thank you for your awesome review. I'm thinking of buying it. May I ask you about some usability? Can we drag a picture from a website to another app like note or word document?
Hi Chris, one short question to make it clear for me. You tested the China Rom, correct? And this version was working with Netflix widevine L1 and HD Resolution, correct? Just asking as i am in China and can buy one but only with China Rom amd for me most usage is Netflix but a must is HD quality. Can you confirm? Can you please also tell me the Rom version. Than i can compare. Thx a lot Roland
Yes China ROM and I've shown the Widevine in the video L1 working FHD at the time of this video. I no longer have the tablet but it should work unless firmware updated changed this.
Nice review! I have the xiaomi pad 6 with keyboard and pen, and love it. The chinese pads work really well since you dont have to worry about band support, google is easy to install, and most Chinese software can be easily removed - good move by xiaomi! I do wish they would add microsd support though. I have a small usbc hub attached by velcro tape to the back of the keyboard stand with some extra ports for expandability and power passthrough. The workstation mode is really good too, feels a bit like gnome for linux. So very close to a laptop replacement.
They are very good yes and missing that MicroSD is the only real dealbreaker I feel forcing me to have to bu ythe 512GB version really if I was to keep it but right now I'm using the Matepad 13.2 and the screen is a stunner. The UI is very fluid and overall very pleased. I use a similar hub with passthrough PD for charging with some additional ports.
Xiaomi Pad 6S pro, or OnePlus Pad 2. Which one is better? I dont care about gaming, but I want tablet for office work and TH-cam watching and Internet browsing 🙂
Since it has no sim support, i dont think you will get any issues overseas, i personally use a xiaomi 14 with chinese rom and I dont have any issues. Google Apps work flawless on HyperOS. The chinese characters you will see most is on getapps and themes store but other than that, I did not notice anything else be it on the settings etc,
I want to know your opinion as someone who has used both devices, do you think it is worth paying 130$ extra for this version, instead of the cheaper xiomi pad 6 pro?
Thanks for always mentioning the headphone jack. After being forced to use the company phone without a headphone jack, I realised how important it is for me. I go for walks and listen to audio books. When the Bluetooth headset battery is out my day is ruined. It happened a lot and the batteries deteriorate quickly. USB headphones are just bad. Keep mentioning it in the hope they come back.
Xiaomi pad 6s pro or samsung s9 fe plus? Your thoughts please! I'm a student, I'll mainly use it for note taking, pdf reading and highlighting. I can't choose between these two haha
Raw performance and hardware, this xiaomi pad will blow the s9 fe out of the water. Skin over android tho, I believe it subjective. If you have samsung and xiaomi stores in your region, check both of them out! I personally went with the 6s Pro for the specs alone. I came from xiaomi pad 5 which I never had any issues, my brother just wanted to have a tablet so I gave it to him. You can also check out the xiaomi Pad 6. The combo with keyboard should be way cheaper than the 6s pro and s9 fe plus.
Chris Sir I have a question. What are your views on Tablets? Personally do you prefer Tablets (Android/ iPads)? And how does that compare to a laptop/mac and a smartphone from your perspective based on overall computing experience and the pleasure of using the device? Personally I have a cheap tablet but I don't use it much. I like fewer devices for better control and organisation, and I find tablets uncomfortable and unwieldy. Stylus is not needed because typing experience is great on modern devices. Also tablet still very limited compared to Windows PC/Mac.
talking about the back camera design made me think of the time were some dubious chinese companies straight up put fake lens covers on their phone 😅 (and it really looks like a stove)
Finally a proper review on TH-cam, thank you. But Why would anyone buy this tab?Now For the same price you can get the Samsung tab s9 with similar specs but better amoled display and s pen included. Also Samsung software experience and ecosystem is much better than mi tabs.
@@Techtablets doesn’t work. It will still ruin your brain on the long run. I have sold all my oled/amoled devices, and my mental/physical health and ability to focus has significantly improved. You can try it for 20 days, and if you see the benefits, please make a video on it.
I'll try using IPS again, but everything I have is OLED now. Phone, monitor and laptop. I think you must be very sensitive to the PWM flicker they cause by the sounds of it. It's rear but most don't suffer from it like you sound to. Glad moving away from AMOLED/OLED has helped you.
Chris!!!! Do you know anything about Hyper os update for Xiaomi Pad 6?!😔😔😔😔 I am getting notifications about the update but I dont know what to expect with!!! Battery life,bugs...etc Is it good or should I avoid it 😔😔😔😔
I don't like showing emulation as I have been slammed in the past by a certain company for showing emulators. Many years back but I really don't think it's worth it.
No SD support is a deal breaker on a tablet meant for media and since the higher storage options are quite expensive might as well get a Samsung S9+ .... Which also comes with the pen in box so the price is not that good if you're an actual power user
Going off ona tangent here. I'm still lost on usability of powerful chipsets on smartphone nowadays. Yes i use iqoo 11, but there's nothing more demanding than Genshin Impact for years, and no even with high perf/watt battery life is not improving either. I'm truly unmotivated to get the latest and greatest from this moment onward
Yeah, I really don't understand when people obsess over benchmarks at the high end. I don't feel like I've been limited by a phone since like the 865 chip, and honestly even before then. Even mid-range chips from like 20/20 onward feel almost indistinguishable in terms of browsing speeds. Seems the only real benefits are a few extra frame rates on the very few games that are optimized for that. .... At least since TMC took over for Qualcomm, the battery efficiency has been good. These days using 7g2 or 8 plus g1 would seem to be enough for 99% of users.
"Looks like the battery is disconnected, your device will be powered off within 30 seconds" this is what my Xiaomi pad 5 is showing. So many people are facing the same problem.
I've had battery issues with all my Xiaomi tablets, and a lot of my phone's: first sudden rapid loss of capacity after 4 yrs, then the battery getting bloated. Are they using a more solid type/brand of battery nowadays ?
@@Techtablets my Max 1 just stopped working last week with huge bloat. max 2 is very slightly bloated but won't hold any charge at all, max 3 runs for about 1hr, no bloat yet. My 2 Pad 4+ broke After
Oh not good my Mi Max only lasts about 4 hours the battery is poor after 2 years full on use and now being so old the trick is to charge them now and then. But not to 100% I leave it around 70-80%
Normal 14? Xiaomi didn't send me one and is ghosting me at the moment. However I bought the 14 Ultra both global and Chinese model whichever arrives first I will review and do some camera comparisons of.
Probably not since it's not global that Oppo it doesn't get views being China only. No point all that work to limit my views including the X7 Ultra. Sad but true.
I haven't used samsung pen before but i think if ur demands on take note and amateur digital painting it will fit u perfectly. But if ur a professional then go with the samsung or any drawing pad of xp pen, huiwon,...
Hello, when you review these large tablets, could you please show the vertical display of a pdf? I'm sure there's a lot of musicians that would like to see what the display looks like with sheet music. The gold standard is ipad pro 12.9 with aspect ratio of 4:3 but that's too expensive. Thanks!
I'll take a good LCD without retina burning PWM Oleds ANY day of the week. Just think, the 1000+ dollar galaxy tab s9 ultra is slowly killing your eyes at 240 strobe flashes in a second
i think its more about keeping the costs down as LCD is cheaper, and having OLED would add up to the price making the device pricier than it already is
Is getting a global version of a tablet as important as getting a global phone? I was thinking of getting the China ROM version of this tablet as it is available with higher memory and storage options. I don't need a tablet for phone/text push notifications or android auto etc...are there any other real reasons to go global?
id trade that snap dragon for a lower tier if they give you variable refresh rate oled so you can read longer on the tablet and get better media experience tbh i hope they realease a variant (sitill top 3 tablet ofc)
Reading and Oled doesnt really go that well unless they integrate dc dimming which xiaomi does so that's a win. Their ips is not the ones on Monitor tho. It has deep blacks and vibrant colors. I switch from an oled phone to a xiaomi pad 5 and the screen difference never really bothered me.
Many thanks for that wonderful review! Can you guide me for a cheap tablet with a high brightness level (higher then Lenovo P12) just to be used as TV/Multimedia ?
@@aykutlondon4784 that's strange I just checked Xiaomi Store (Netherland) currently no stock so it's mean a global varient will be there in future I guess

Chris , what about global version ?
Global launch has been done on 27th Feb, it has not arrived yet
Hi there
Can u please tell me what graphics does it have in a game called pubg mobile Does it have extrem+ option?
Chris!!!!
Do you know anything about Hyper os update for Xiaomi Pad 6?!😔😔😔😔
I am getting notifications about the update but I dont know what to expect with!!!
Battery life,bugs...etc
Is it good or should I avoid it 😔😔😔😔
It's good should be an improvement
@@Techtablets It should but I cant trust to "it should be" 😔😔😔😔
But thanks
Good morning, yes. Pad 6 has HyperOS. Last night I install in my father's tab the last security update of Android. March 2024?
I want your opinion
Wich one is best in buget
Xiaomi pad 6 pro or this one .......?
Plz plz plz help 🥺
If u love big screen then go with this one but maybe let it sale off a bit cuz idk how.much in globally but in china it will be about 600 bucks
pad 6 more fire
@@linhquach8323pad 6 pro in china right now is about 300 bucks
Xiaomi gets the job done on this tablet, and Chris let us know how good it is by putting out the full review of the tablet. Well down brother.
Thanks! Yes a very good tablet with the typical cons of no micro SD slot and 3.5mm otherwise fantastic.
It would be interesting to see some emulation on large tablets like this
I don't like showing emulation as I have been slammed in the past by a certain company for showing emulators. Many years back but I really don't think it's worth it.
@@Techtablets ohh sorry to hear that. These greedy corporations smh...
No SD support is a deal breaker on a tablet meant for media and since the higher storage options are quite expensive might as well get a Samsung S9+ .... Which also comes with the pen in box so the price is not that good if you're an actual power user
Do you know when they Release? I Really Need that tablet for my education
I think in the next month or so globally
Can it connect to an external monitor and are you able to turn off the pads screen while it's connected?
yes you can connect it to an external monitor, but it forces the screen to be duplicated (no options for the screens to be extended, etc.)
No hardware GPS? So it means I cannot use Google maps for navigation?
Will there be a uk release?
If i buy the Chinese version, can I still use apps like youtube and whatsapp?
When it's going to launch in India....???
Do you think we'll have mini LED in tablets this year aside from iPads?
I hope so but still i'm happy with OLED/AMOLED.
"Looks like the battery is disconnected, your device will be powered off within 30 seconds" this is what my Xiaomi pad 5 is showing. So many people are facing the same problem.
Wow that's a major and what is the fix?
@@Techtablets honestly I don't know, but I'm in the process of changing the battery and see what will happen next.
any chance it works with the pad 5 stylus?
Thanks good video
Glad you liked it
I've had battery issues with all my Xiaomi tablets, and a lot of my phone's: first sudden rapid loss of capacity after 4 yrs, then the battery getting bloated. Are they using a more solid type/brand of battery nowadays ?
I would hope so. but had no issues with my Mi Max which is super old and no bloat.
Какая яркость в режиме HDR ?
When are you doing the Xiaomi 14 review?
Normal 14? Xiaomi didn't send me one and is ghosting me at the moment. However I bought the 14 Ultra both global and Chinese model whichever arrives first I will review and do some camera comparisons of.
@@Techtablets ah awesome!! Will you be comparing it to the oppo find X7 ultra?
Probably not since it's not global that Oppo it doesn't get views being China only. No point all that work to limit my views including the X7 Ultra. Sad but true.
How is stylus pen latency? Is it roughly the same as samsung tab s9?
Sorry can't say since I don't have it and haven't tested it.
Thanks!
Hi @TechTablets, does it have MEMC same with Pad 6 Pro for video optimization?
this made me miss the 16:10 aspect ration, 7 to 8inch smartphones back then. Would be nice for gaming smartphones to get larger or gaming tablets
Where to buy the global version ?
does it have a keymapping function for keyboard and mouse for gaming like the lenovo y700?
No it doesn't it I can't find it.
Will you be reviewing Xiaomi 14? 😊
Why do they always remove the 3.5 mm audio jack and sd card slot?
All about $$$$ MicroSD slot is to make you buy the model with more storage. No 3.5mm is to make you buy BT headphones.
@@Techtablets guess they all caught on to how Apple does things with their devices
Imagine not having an AMOLED display on a bad boy like this😢
Damn shame alright!
I think they didn't use an OLED cause they made this tab compatible to be used as a control panel for their EV
Even my $200 Lenovo Pad 11 Pro has OLED😮, damit Xiaomi
Even this regular redmi note 12 that I use for TH-cam has one
I'll take a good LCD without retina burning PWM Oleds ANY day of the week. Just think, the 1000+ dollar galaxy tab s9 ultra is slowly killing your eyes at 240 strobe flashes in a second
Can you use this as monitor screen?
Yes
Just to confirm, is the display laminated or not?
100% laminated
@@Techtablets Thanks!
Interesting tablet. Still a little bit pricey for me, also considering the pen and the keyboard cover, but it's not that bad at all.
It is a bit around 600 euros/$600 USD
I'd love to have a low reflectivity super bright 12 bit OLED with great pixel density and 165hz refresh rate
Does it have desktop mode like samsung dex
Xiaomi Workstation had it. And it feel not much different like Samsung Dex
I wonder if there is an issue with oled supply lines. Lots of premium tabs seem to skip them.
Or they might want to avoid screen burn-in? But really I think it's the cost of them.
OLED supply lines lol. LCDs are simply cheaper that's all there is to it
i think its more about keeping the costs down as LCD is cheaper, and having OLED would add up to the price making the device pricier than it already is
Is getting a global version of a tablet as important as getting a global phone? I was thinking of getting the China ROM version of this tablet as it is available with higher memory and storage options.
I don't need a tablet for phone/text push notifications or android auto etc...are there any other real reasons to go global?
Not really in this case because it's not like it has 5G support and the wrong bands etc. Global model doesn't seem to be coming out either.
Do not buy these. Wait for Snapdragon Gen 3 models
For tablet... They're rarely upgrade chip like phone.
Thanks❤
No storage expansion killed it for me.
extra ram?
@@RSCB No, the lack of a Micro SD Card slot.
@@LazyPCRehab oh, the software didn't really adapt SD card expansion, so adding a SD slot would be useless
@@RSCB How would adding storage be uselss?
@@LazyPCRehab Xiaomi cooks their pins ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
id trade that snap dragon for a lower tier if they give you variable refresh rate oled so you can read longer on the tablet and get better media experience tbh i hope they realease a variant (sitill top 3 tablet ofc)
Reading and Oled doesnt really go that well unless they integrate dc dimming which xiaomi does so that's a win. Their ips is not the ones on Monitor tho. It has deep blacks and vibrant colors. I switch from an oled phone to a xiaomi pad 5 and the screen difference never really bothered me.
why should i prefer that one instead of the normal pad 6 8gb?
🤦🏿♂️Well for one the specs is way way better!!!
@@The_Supreme_Savage but it’s just going to be used for work 🤦🏽♂️
Great tablet, but a bit of a stretch to upgrade to from last year's Pad 6 Pro considering it has no AMOLED 😢and the price increase
Yeah I feel like it should have an OLED or AMOLED. And odd they didn't call it a Pad 7.
@@Techtablets aren't the OLED iPad Pro supposed to be coming, maybe that's the Pad 7 line then 😂
😂😂 100% since Xiaomi loves to copy them.
Many thanks for that wonderful review! Can you guide me for a cheap tablet with a high brightness level (higher then Lenovo P12) just to be used as TV/Multimedia ?
Higher brightness there really isn't one I can think of. Maybe the Tab S9+ but then they aren't cheaper tablets.
The standard Mi Pad 6 (300eur) is brighter than P12 ?@@Techtablets
Don't think it is off the top of my head
Any news when it's available online for global user ?
I think he said there won't be a global version
@@aykutlondon4784 but it's released globally isn't ?
@@anOophile yeah I think this will be released globally but not all are. Not all Xiaomi/Chinese brands are.
@@aykutlondon4784 that's strange I just checked Xiaomi Store (Netherland) currently no stock so it's mean a global varient will be there in future I guess
Good Tablet , Thank you To Review
Thanks for watching!
When will they learn to add sim support. Atleast as a seperate variant. These guys dont seem to understand that in wifi only version its very hard to beat ipads in overall value. But if they provide sim card support at competitive pricing then its possible because thats one space ipads don't excel at
2 thing i seriously don't like about xiaomi tablet is no amoled & cellular connectivity only wifi. so samsung tab s tablet will always be my number one choice
does xiaomi pad6s pro better than the galaxy tab s9 ultra?
No the S9 Ultra is better, better screen and software.
