I’m honestly just surprised at the prices. You can tell it’s not just some celebrity gimmick, it has decent prices for top quality food. Has that community feel, Connor doesn’t want to overcharge his people for some profit.
Now I don't need to warch the vid.
That's because he's a stand up member of his community and everyone loves him for it. You know the shit they DON'T talk about in the press.
That's simply because he is a fighter comes from nothing
Also you just won't get away with shite pub grub in Ireland
Meanwhile £36 for a steak
The food is exceptionally high quality at really great price point. McGregors whole idea was to bring a concept of fine dining to fair price point for the average working person.
He probably subsidizes a lot of things in his home town

@Carl J I'd say that's the below average person if you can't spare £36 once. I am the average blue collar worker and I could afford to eat there everyday of the week if I wanted, and I'm not even considered middle class. I guess all these restaurants that have full parking lots every night are all full of above average rich folk, including his.
I have been there and the steaks, stout and staff honestly could not be better. They have the prices absolutely spot on. Best steak I"ve had in long time.
How much for a steak?
It seems like Conor stuck true of his word when he bought the pub. He kept it local for the locals. Good quality meals with a local price
I haven't been here yet, but friends have and they all said forget the celebrity aspect the chefs are fantastic, the food is the top draw and Conor knows how to kit out a bar and restaurant. Fair play to him and the team 👏

For a celebrity to own a restaurant and not over inflate the price’s because of his celebrity status it’s refreshing.
The fact all his beef is grass fed organic and drug free is amazing in Manchester you would pay £100 for a steak like that kudos to Connor for keeping it real and making something with class that people can afford. I remember one of his fights Gordon Ramsay was waiting back stage to congratulate him I bet that moment this restaurant was conceived well done champ 💪
Definitely one of the better food reviews I've seen. Conor should give them shares for that promotion. 😅 Definitely on the bucket list👌
The staff are golden. Bless them i hope they're happy and being appreciated
Visited last year & also had the wings and steak on the stone. Highly recommend & this review is so on point !! Alot of people wont go because of the owner but for the drink & food perspective it is AMAZING !!!
I would think this place would be PACKED solid because of the owner. Do the irish not like him?

You mentioned 'John Stone', worth noting that it's Irish, grass fed and hormone and antibiotic free, literally one of the finest beefs on the planet.

@@zebrajenksno not the same, the soil that the grass grows on makes the difference, Irish soil is based on limestone rock, with the western winds bringing the Atlantic salty rains, something similar to Scotland. No way does a steak in the US taste the same
Fair play that looks a beautiful meal and well priced for a nice bit of food staff attentive too great content again.
The executive chef Ed, and his team of chefs are great lads and excellent cooks. They do look after you every time

I live 20 minutes away from it. Honestly I’m not just saying it. It’s absolutely fantastic value for the standard you receive from the moment you enter!!

@@rockbun3985 I’m in Kildare and a few of my mates went up over Christmas and couldn’t recommend the grub high enough, excellent value for money.

My dad is from the area and if you had of seen the place before Conor took over to how it is now its absolutely remarkable. Great honest review
They spent around 2 M£ on it .A complete new roof for example .I live just down the road from it .

It’s a lovely pub, the stout is amazing, however, I wouldn’t say it’s welcoming, the lurch on the door at what was only 3!in the afternoon made sure to make me feel I didn’t belong, not sure why, it’s in Crumlin, Crumlin!!

I felt the same .I got the look up and down ( by a greasy little foreign doorman in a black suit ) before i was allowed enter .I was on my own.I just live within 100 meters of the Pub. The Stout did taste good and the public bar was relaxing .It does look classy and would be a good place to bring a date .

Thoroughly enjoyed the introduction and the first 3.5 minutes, which has lead me out the door for a beer, will watch the rest in the very near future over a pint of Guinness

I went there last October and absolutely loved it there! I had the burger and the wings, out of this world! Best burger I've ever had and the wings were awesome too! The booze was top aswell and the service was incredible and ofcourse I had a pic with the belt! Easy 10/10 for me! 💯💚
Steaks get overhyped in reviews and I’m normally sceptical of them being served on a hot stone. But that looks spot on.
Hot Stone is definitely a gimmick. It takes years if not decades to perfect cooking a steak. The average punter definitely would not do that good meat justice imo

I'm not a huge fan of of UFC or anything but that looks like a place I would go to based on the food,looks enjoyable
I was there last year....Food and drink were great! Nice laid back atmosphere.
No bullshit no gimmicks this video was strait to the point…. SPOT ON.
The steak did look delicious, and the presentation was fantastic, price wise 36€ is ok for the occasional treat 👍👍

some of the best food i have eaten has ben in Ireland, in particular, in Kinsale. Fancy a little trip for a bit of this.
Conor has him a nice resturaunt. 👍 if I ever visit Ireland this would be my first and last stop of the trip for sure.
Mate that looks epic. First off I love the name, The Black Forge! Could a better name be picked? I don’t think so.
Second the food to price point looks spot on, these guys really had a think about the product there selling and how much it’s really worth.
Thirdly the service looks impeccable, eveyone loves what they do and love the product and the idea behind it, just well done! 👏

Mcgregor has absolutely Notting to do with the pubs name it's been called that name since he was a kid , so it just tells you he not 100% owner , before that is was called the Bentley , he furst tryed to by another pub just down road an they told to fk off and get out he not welcome , he is a very hated guy in his own , town

Nice one Connor,that's grt prices on the food , at least that's one places he's not get his arm into 💪.I've tried the Forged nice but a lot more bitter than a Guinness .
Anyone tried the forged irish stout and have an honest opinion on it? How does it compare to Guinness or beamish?
Hi guys. I work in customs and I met you a few months ago when you came by ferry into Dublin. I would recommend if you have time in dublin to check out a breakfast roll from Hicks Butchers in Dun Laoghaire, south Dublin…..they are fab and the smell of them being cooked outside seduces you up the street 😂😂😂

If I ever go to Dublin I'll be definitely be going there to try the food every video I have seen of people who has been there have rated it

Guinness, to me as well has always tasted like concentrated coffee with a bit of dark chocolate 😅 the fact that this stout sounds like his has more of those flavours than Guinness makes me really want to try it

Food and beverages are excellent! Tried also Conors beer. Very nice taste. Stuard the bartender was fantastic, very friendly and nice fella! Greetings from Greece!

I seen Connor mcgregor in a fish and chip shop once. He ordered a special fu yung , beef green pepper in yellow bean gravy , salt and pepper Sui Mai in vinegar chop suey roll well done, sweet and sour Dr Pepper don king style , large portion of chips and a smack barm pea wet to eat in the que. heavy scran order
