  • Making Brompton T line lighter without an upgrade (yet) and spending anything!
Trimmed and shaved with the things we don't need and don't use, like the mudguards, FCB, and reflectors.

The 429 grams would be important components for myself. Reflectors to be seen versus being hit in the dark.
In the rain a wet butt, or rather have half a kilo more on the wheel? Definitely the half kilo. You do not have to carry it, but only muster the strength to accelerate it in one direction. And in my opinion, that's not noticeable with half a kilo. I prefer to lose 10kg of fat on my body. Have too much on it anyway. ;)

Hi, we are base in UAE so we dont expect rain as the other countries, mudguards are 100% not needed over here as it rains 11 times a year, we dont use it for commuting but for weekends ride, as having as a recreation or a hobby you will notice even 100 grams on rides not only for Bromptons but for Road bikes and MTB as well, reflectors are good if you dont have a light which we always do as part of the requirements in UAE if you are cycling at night, which you can easily remove in the morning, that is why you dont see it in RB and MTB but visible in childrens bike, 10 kg of fat is not that easy to lose as it sounds, im trying to do it myself without success lol but yeah if you need those parts we are happy for you guys to retain it, the most important thing is we enjoy every moment in our two wheels machines!

You don’t need to take out the wheels and seat post stopper to remove the fenders, release the air in the tires will do save so much time and hassle.

My 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton, with mudguards (I'm a Rainy Dane!), carrying block (I like the T-bag) and some changes, for now weighs 9,35 kilo, and still with some easy ways to make it even lighter (A new carbon M handlebar, more titanium parts/bolts for the brakes, and carbon- and alu-clips to replace the originals on the mudguards), and still with 6 gears!!! @@cocoyillo You are able to find titanium bolts and nuts from China, as a new titanium axle for the front, also the security parts for a Bromptons axles, not to be lost. And a titanium seat post in different length and versions. Also the seat clamps with wedges instead of the complicated original Brompton. I have a promise of a Chinese Stem post from carbon, as they also makes them from titanium (Expensive!). But new parts for the original brakes from titanium are easy to find. Finn

Hi Harry, Tubolitos comes with T line (presta) and in the new CHPT3 ver 4 (schrader) which you might need to your stock wheels, they are very light but they are not puncture proof so you still need to take care of your tires.

What’s the point of taking the mudguards off. Reflectors etc
The whole idea of the T line was to make a practical useable bike that could be used everyday and be legal
Why has everybody got this obsession with having bikes with no mudguards
Try living in the UK where it rains a lot or there’s lots of puddles standing water you can’t avoid
All my bromptons have mudguards I stop clean so does the bike
Why didn’t you just buy the urban T line
    No mudguards
1 gear saved you all this pissing about

Not everyone that owns a Brompton or T line lives in UK or use them as a commuter bike, some are like us that lives in Middle East that rain falls almost 24 times a year or sometimes no rains at all, so what is the use of mudguards for us? Reflectors are honestly ugly I know it is functional but we use blinkers powered lights that last very long, you need to charge maybe once a month, so we remove reflectors. We maybe uses our Bromptons differently from how you normally use it but the common thing is we both love our bikes, like us or for some, we use our Bromptons as a recreational or weekend ride, we want to have 4 speed instead of having a single speed, if Brompton offers customized purchases then we’ll have it removed from the factory right? We are free to chose what ever we want to do with our Bromptons like you do so please respect others preference. This channel is dedicated for Brompton upgrades and not for diet meal plans.

I've been riding this bike for about a month th-cam.com/users/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
