I have a first generation T Line so I am speaking from experience. It's a noisy bike. You need to grease it after a few months of riding to get rid of the creaky noise. It's not a simple greasing. I need to disassemble the hinge and headset area and grease and assemble again with a torque wrench. Brompton recommends using non-petroleum grease and it actually works eliminating the noise. I've had multiple punctures on it because of the horrible Tubolito inner tubes. It's very light to carry and it makes a big difference for a daily commute. I've taken it abroad as carry on luggage. But if you are a recreational rider and don't use a Brompton to everyday for work commute, I would go with a P line instead. It's cheaper and doesn't require a lot of maintenance. I think the P line is Brompton's best offering. Reliable solid bike that doesn't cost a lot of money. I ride my P more often now. Potential T buyers beware.
I agree the tubes are terrible. I had my first puncture within literally minutes into my first ride. I had heard about the thin tyres and inner tubes and had the tyres and inner tubes replaced. It’s a lovely light bike but it was a very expensive toy for me and probably I shouldn’t have bought it as I have a titanium mountain bike that I ride more

I’ve had the T for a year now. It’s great for daily commute due to its light weight. Personally I find the saddle a tad hard for my bum on long rides so I have swapped it for something more comfortable. You never mentioned the actual "Weight" of the T-line - with mudguards?? My present, now - much, much modified 2019 "SuperlightM6LXBrompton", but still without a carbon handlebar and - modified mudguards, changing the "Heavy Metal" clamps to a set of carbon and aluminum, is presently weighing 8,75 kilo and I expect to be able to reach at least 8,5 kilo (+ Some more brake parts, for the original Brompton brakes, which for some reason has changed shape/bolt length during the years, - to titanium)!!! I have a Ceramic, Titanium Crank and Ceramic balls in my head set! And most all, front-axle and bolts, discs, seat post and nuts on my bike are now from Titanium. I have "stabilizers" on my clamps, to keep them positioned when folding my bike (and Security bolts in the end of the locking bolts/clamps, not to be able to - loose them during handling!!! I lost one in the growth in a wood (But luckily found it again)!! I needed to reach "the hidden tool set" in the frame!) And of course all the "Missing Protection" against "scratches" during folds, which The Factory has never provided!!! When I gave my "Brand New Bike" an Auto Polish all over, after - two or three folds, the one "clear tape", from The Factory 🤨 was nearly worn through to the paint, so I - immediately ordered a full set of "Plates and Protection" for the many known "Week Points" on a Brompton frame, so it still looks like a New Bike today! He also said the T Line is perfect "as is", and he sees a LOT of Bromptons and after market parts, so he knows, IMO. I REALLY like my T Line!
I really don't think a Junction is allowed to promote Non-Brompton parts, even if better. But a search on the Internet gives multiple, Brompton like parts from China, Korea and Taiwan which are as good, better or less expensive than the original. My black Chinese Titanium seat post I suppose has the same price as an original Brompton shaped post, but is lighter.

Thanks for the video. Excellent job as with all your videos. I think I'm getting a C line urban 2 speed. I still very much liked watching your comparison between the T and P bikes.
The weight and the folded rolling are really appealing... Not so the lack of color options nor the lesser gears... I guess the biggest issue is the way higher price than C or P... Could probably put a C bike on an effective diet, within a smaller budget... It also seems, from availability and options, to be in it's early stages... Great, detailed explanation!
It's good to see mudguards on the T-Line. I know that the weight weenies love to save weight, but mudguards really are a must for the vast majority of the year in the UK. How does that automatically aligning frame clamp er... automatically align? Great vid. Thank you.

Any of these bikes look great . Only as a small rider my main concern is crank length ? Do the come with only 170mm cranks? A cheap ARGOS challenge folding bike comes with 140mm cranks which i have fitted to my hybrid bike 140mm is the correct length for my 69cm inseam. Is there any option to get 140mm or even 155mm , is 165mm a option ? Because 170mm for a short rider is a none starter as far as i am concerned. I take my crank lengh from on line crank length calculator 'bikefaff ' it is correct. 170mm is correct crank size for someone with 84cm (33 inches inseam), i belive this to be correct. Is there any option to get short cranks for someone with 32" inseam or less (165mm, 155mm or anything less that 170mm or are we just supposed to make that work? Even as a extra option at extra cost ?
Yes! We have a page explaining how to do it, but at the moment the wheels are out of stock. As soon as they arrive we will make them able to be ordered. But if you want to send us an email we can raise an order to reserve one when they come in.
Are the self aligning hinge clamps suitable for older Bromptons or do they fit T-Line only? If they will fit ok you have the part ref so I can order some from you?
@brilliantbikes thanks, what a wasted opportunity. Owners have been asking for this for years, to design one that isn't a retrofit option is just plain daft.
@@terryc8164 let’s cross our fingers that they can adapt it for the A / C / / P line The bolt on the T Line is shorter - so it needs a very slightly different design
@@terryc8164 the bolt length is the only reason (that we can see) that it won’t fit But the design is quite different (the bolt is shaped and has a hole in it to receive a screw) So it really needs a whole new assembly (we have tried and will make a short video on why it won’t fit!)
Any chance of changing the gearing to a lighter gearing? Here in Norway the 6 speed -12% option is the default one . An 11-18 cassette would do the trick.
The rear sprockets on the T line are - 11-13-15-18 teeth, you could always decrease the size of the front chain ring if you wanted lower gearing. Thanks for watching!

I am not keen on Brompton and especially very expensive Bromptons blinged up with other non propriety headsets and steerers with their branding spoiling the overall aesthetic. I know this is very popular in the far east. I like the concept of No Logo which Wilf Self addressed on his Volvo.
Yes I may make a compromise and get the P Line. They are pretty light at 10kg. And half the price. You are lovely too. You are to Brompton bikes. What Nigella Lawson is to cooking.
Welcome to the flexing of the Titaiume. Bcos you all asking for the trouble yourself. Silliness to me, if I may say! Instead of improving the C Line, Brompton created the P and killed the superlight. And made the T and kill the P hahahaha
Well not quite. I expect my now much modified Superlight, with 6 gears, soon weighs about the same as a T-line with mudguards, then 8,5 kilo. and still for about below half the price + what's added on top of special parts, but not at all as expensive.

Thanks for watching!
waited for a review like this for a while, now my employer has upped the limit for the cycle scheme I think ill be trading in my p-line for a t-line.
It really is even better than we expected! Can’t wait to hear from you 😀
Thanks for watching!

Did you talk about the forks? I can't find that you did, but its early and I'm still half asleep
We did mention the carbon forks on the T line. Thanks for watching!
The best posh tottie on TH-cam - fascinated by her exploratory finger 😻
Thanks for making me smile in the morning, and for watching!
@@brilliantbikes apologies, but it had to be said... (Maybe 🤣)
Have to agree. This lady is to the Brompton. What Nigella Lawson is to cooking. A delight to watch and learn something.
Is it possible to convert my T-Line 4 Speed 50t chainring into the new 12 Speed version?
Yes! We have a page explaining how to do it, but at the moment the wheels are out of stock. As soon as they arrive we will make them able to be ordered. But if you want to send us an email we can raise an order to reserve one when they come in.
How to clean the T line frame? It looks uneven on the surface
The best thing to clean it with is vinegar based window cleaner
I wish one day Brompton make a desks brake
À heavy desk will slow you down for sure 😅
Thanks both for watching!
TBH we don’t really have an issue with the Brompton brakes for general use.
So they do innovate 😊
Yup. That’s what we were trying to explain on the short but it seemed to have been missed. Thanks for watching!
I want a video about riding the titanium. How does it feel? I have heard reports that it was originally a bit whippy. Is that true?
Thanks for the suggestion, it is on the list! it is quick and responsive!
Are the self aligning hinge clamps suitable for older Bromptons or do they fit T-Line only? If they will fit ok you have the part ref so I can order some from you?
Sadly they only for the T line, let’s hope for the future.
Thanks for watching!
@brilliantbikes thanks, what a wasted opportunity. Owners have been asking for this for years, to design one that isn't a retrofit option is just plain daft.
@@terryc8164 let’s cross our fingers that they can adapt it for the A / C / / P line
The bolt on the T Line is shorter - so it needs a very slightly different design
@brilliantbikes if it is just the bolt that is shorter, could the levers from the older type be used with the clamps from the new ones??
@@terryc8164 the bolt length is the only reason (that we can see) that it won’t fit
But the design is quite different (the bolt is shaped and has a hole in it to receive a screw)
So it really needs a whole new assembly (we have tried and will make a short video on why it won’t fit!)
Why is it that brompton chose to use carbon fibre for the fork instead of titanium?
We think it is because they are a little bit more rigid.
Thanks for watching!
@@brilliantbikesAre you sure you have smaller chainring options for the T Line cranks? Aren't the T Line chain rings limited so far to 50T and 56T?
Supply caught up. I noticed the price drop.
The clamps can be found aftermarket that does the same thing.
Why don’t they use cabling guides in tubing as the cables flapping about look untidy
I’d say that’s easier to mould on a carbon frame, but harder on the titanium bike
Thanks for watching!
Another great video, as always. However, what is the correct price for this? I've seen quoted £4'500 😮
Many thanks for watching. Yup that’s the correct cost.
You deserve your thumbs up. Great work and many details. I ride a single speed T-Line for months with lots of pleasure and efficiency. For a reason I'm not sure to be able to explain the extended seat post fits perfectly well with my long legs on the T when I need an extended seat post on the C..
Many thanks for watching! Do you have your Pentaclip the other way up between the bikes?
We made a video on that a while ago

As a Dane our Scandinavian Bromptons are all delivered with a 600mm seat post! And too long for my German B&W luggage box, so I tried a Standard Length, 535mm model seat post from Titanium (Black, as my Black Version bike) and from China, for a test! Turning a lighter model seat clamp round below the saddle, for a little more length, it functions reasonable, and still able to be put in my box, without taking my Folding Bike apart! Finn. Denmark
Is this on general sale not the balot?
Yes 😀, they are now available through a limited number of Brompton dealers.
They really are way more awesome than we thought!
Thanks for watching!
And the weight of the T line is?
Many thanks for watching we made a shirt on the weight. Can’t believe we forgot to weigh it!!!!

Thanks
Thank you for watching!
how much does it weigh?
I can't believe we actually forgot to weigh it!!!Video in the making. Thanks for watching
Thank you
No sir ... thank YOU!
I am not keen on Brompton and especially very expensive Bromptons blinged up with other non propriety headsets and steerers with their branding spoiling the overall aesthetic. I know this is very popular in the far east. I like the concept of No Logo which Wilf Self addressed on his Volvo.
Thanks for watching!
Weight comparison?
So sorry we forgot to weigh it! Rubbish, so amazed at the lightness. So we are making. short video to compare the weights
Thanks for watching
1. It’s light, 2. It’s light, 3. It’s light etc 😂
Thanks for watching! It really is very light!! Surprises me every time!
So Brompton finally make a bike I would love to have..And you need a morgage to buy unless you are rich. I will have to stick with my Tern verge X11..
They are lovely and so light! Thanks for watching!!
Yes I may make a compromise and get the P Line. They are pretty light at 10kg. And half the price. You are lovely too. You are to Brompton bikes. What Nigella Lawson is to cooking.
I love mine
We are impressed with all the new designs and the weight! Thanks for watching
THE PRICE IS INSANE
But they are insanely light!
Thanks for watching!
Welcome to the flexing of the Titaiume. Bcos you all asking for the trouble yourself.
Silliness to me, if I may say! Instead of improving the C Line, Brompton created the P and killed the superlight. And made the T and kill the P hahahaha
Well not quite. I expect my now much modified Superlight, with 6 gears, soon weighs about the same as a T-line with mudguards, then 8,5 kilo. and still for about below half the price + what's added on top of special parts, but not at all as expensive.
lady, you are fit! ngl :>
Weight of P line & T line & compare difference between P/T…
Many thanks for watching and for the suggestion. We did a short on comparison between the C, P and T lines, link as follows

Since Jun 2022 with 2000 km on the mileage.
Number 8, they are very expensive.
Very nice but too rich for my blood. I'll stay with my M6.
Thanks for watching!!
A lot of money for an occasional ride.
Wow, at $5,500, I would need to commute for about 46K miles at current gas prices just to break even.
Sell your car! You are making a profit immediately
Thanks both for watching! And you can get some exercise 😀
@@brilliantbikes excellent reply. Less car use is priceless

Carbon fibre is not a material "for life", it is a material designed for maximum result, not maximum longevity. If I drop 4,500K on a bike, I want that bike to be for life - and that will mean sans carbon.
that has little to do with the material itself and everything to do with construction. Of course, the verdict is still out with the bike being so new.
@@napilopez I have rebuilt a "Vision Kilo" based MTB to a full Shimano XTR with XTR9120, double caliber disc brakes and oversize discs on XTR wheels. Though an elderly bike I have never had any problems with the carbon parts on it, even the carbon spokes!! Finn. Denmark
seriously? not a single word about gears?
Thanks for watching! We have covered the four speed in another video
LOL! a 500 USD hardtail is way better than this.
Thanks for watching and the comment
We’d probably disagree with you unless US hard tails are a lot better value for money than what we have available in the UK
