An excuse to test DeSmuME's rerecording function and see how it works. I know how to use it...sorta.
More like New Super Luigi Bros. :3
Just a basic ol' 100% (aka 3-Stars) playthrough of New Super Mario Bros. as Luigi (there is nothing different in terms of gameplay, unlike Super Mario Bros. 2J). 3-Stars would include completing the game (duh!), getting all Star Coins and spending them (after completing the game), and completing ALL levels, including taking the alternate exits (apparently, Warp Cannon levels count.). I'm not worried about that one little secret block that has that 1-Up or that one secret spot that has that one secret 1-Up or that one spot with that one secret beanstalk that takes me to that one secret spot with that one secret 1-Up. XD Confused? You're welcome. =P

Luigi is played by holding L and R while selecting a file. Please tell me you know what the L and R buttons are. One person I answered didn't know what the L and R buttons were. "=_= Really?" was my only response. Mentally, of course.
Worlds 4 and 7 can be accessed by beating the boss in World 2 and World 5 as Mini Mario respectively. You do damage by doing a Mini Pound. Once again, people can't take the hint (even I didn't have to use a FAQ) on how to access these worlds. It is obvious IMO. Alternatively, World 7 can be reached by taking World 4's Warp Cannon. I do this to avoid another throwdown with Petey Piranha.

On the last few levels (well, somewhere around World 8), I fought Bowser Jr. the ol' fashion way
On the final stage, I decided to go cheap and bring about a battle of epic proportions. Gave 'em the ol' Ground Pwn. Normally, I'm suppose to wait until he jumps and then run under him, but I hate waiting.
Fun fact: 99 Lives! At least it isn't something wild like "Crown-9". XD I do this in World 2-4. I shouldn't even explain it. I don't even need 99 lives. I [sorta] know the game inside-out.
After completing the game, I reload the save data to send the Star Coins... -

I remember loving this game so much. I didn't have a DS at first so I had to use my friends. When I finally got one, and later on those cartridges with 300 DS games on them including NSMB, I played it and my everlasting thirst was finally quenched...then me and my friends all got hooked up on the multiplayer afterwards for years. Ah memories.

I love how at the end they delete the file and replay it, because I often have this video on loop in the background because I love this game, so it feels like a continuous loop. Awesome video, this and this game both made my childhood!
Longplay channels get my respect. Their pleasing and nostalgic to watch. This game has also been a game that means so much to me, it’s one of the first actual Mario games I was exposed to and I still enjoy this and Mario to this very day! Thank you Nintendo for the childhood memories.
ahhh my formal introduction to super mario. it will forever hold a special place in my heart. i replay it every once in a long while. The music, sounds,levels and everything sends me right back to my childhood. This was THE video game that kick started my love for nintendo and i wouldn't want it any other way. i owe my entire gaming history to this game. I've played and owned almost every single Mario game ever made aside from the really obscure ones and it never gets old to me.
Can't wait for the Mario Movie later this year btw!!
(edit: Mario vs Luigi was the best multiplayer vs mode they ever did and i would love to see it come back)

I used to play this game, back in 2014.. Along side New Super Mario Bros WII. Ever since my Nintendo 2DS Broke, I thought i would never play this game anymore, but fast-forward 6-years later! I can finally enjoy 6 year old memories, due to Emulators! God bless the emulator gods! Now time to make more progress, than my 6-year old self!
I remember playing this on a real DS in middle school. This is the best New Super Mario game, and is unique. The later ones are just repeats from the Wii game. I still remember when first I saw the debut of Dry Bowser. I was like "Did Bowser just DIE!?" Pretty unusual, since he falls in magma all the time. This game is the cutoff of good Nintendo games to me of when the company was good. They lost their touch after this.
And yes, playing as Luigi is the way to go!

Well, it may not be a new game anymore, but it is a LEGENDARY game that everyone likes especially since it is brought the Super Mario Action back to its roots !

Man I remember I used to play this game a lot when I was young! I remember trying to get to world 7 on my blue 3DS before I broke the screen. I played it on my pink DS and i lost my pink DS and I couldn’t find it anymore, man good times!

Back in the day, during the GBA era, there was a noticeable absence of a new 2D platformer Mario game.
This game was the first for a very long time, it included very comfortable game controls, very original bosses, great stages and dynamics, and you could even change the background picture of the lower screen in exchange of some star coins.
The Wii version was also quite good, the rest felt rather continuist, which differed from the innovation aspect of the series, including what it's publicly known and what's more difficult to know about (early development stages).
Just got the game again today from a used games store and its just as fun like all those years ago.
