I love this channel cause you have a focus on late century technology (2060-2100), in opposed to mainstream futurology that focus on near future up to 2050s technology. It's useful for science fiction writing and expanding the mind on what's possible.
That was fantastic! I have heard of the concept of floating cities for a few years now, and you are right it is the future. Sea levels rise and fall, as they always have, but I could envision a time when communities of like minded people migrate with the weather or each other's shared interests. If most are networked together then humans can choose their lifestyles and societal structure they are most comfortable with. They will gather energy from fusion no doubt but a combination of hydrogeneration, solar and wind generation as well. It will be a fascinating world, I really hope to access de-aging technology before I'm gone. I would love to see it!
There is no doubt in my mind that things will be very different in 2090 than they are today but based on retro future videos I have seen, most predictions are never really right.
During the 2010s, it was discovered that terraforming Mars will be more difficult than previously thought. I don't think we will see any serious terraforming projects for Mars during this century (despite Eon's instance on nuking Mars for it; a rare case of me disagreeing with Elon on something). Downloading literal memories onto the internet? We already have enough privacy issues on the internet; especially with Facebook literally selling away personal info to other corporations. Photosynthetic skin? Does that mean alraune and plant people in general will become real centuries down the line? Might as well just replace athletes with robotic athletes
I was surprised by your mention of the quest for virtual intelligences to be allowed to own businesses and marry as I would have thought that would be an obvious step forward. As there have already been instances of men marrying AI's (I've not heard of a woman doing it yet but wouldn't be surprised if it had already happened), it would seem to be the next step for these intelligences to marry each other if they so chose. As your earlier video's mention that by this time we've developed technology to completely map human DNA, I wonder if people that do marry virtual intelligences would be able/allowed to reproduce with them. It would be easy enough to do it in a virtual space like the Metanet as the system would know enough about how DNA mixes and combines together when wet organisms reproduce and therefore produce a new virtual life that's a blending of human (or maybe even animal) and virtual intelligence. I presume that by this time, technology would have advanced to the point where it can print DNA like it would a meal or replacement organ such as a heart, kidney, or liver. It may even be a possible treatment for childless couples who want to have a child.Maybe the child could be 'born' in a virtual space and then 'born' again biologically in this way.
Adrian, I definitely think what you stated could happen when considering how technology is evolving and how the pace of technological development will likely explode after the technological singularity. Today's technology, scientific knowledge, and cultures would be considered almost unreal to the average person 200 years ago. If we fast forward 100-200 years in the future, the changes in those three areas could be considerably larger when compared to today.
@@FutureBusinessTech I agree about advances. The greater the degree of technology and knowledge available the faster the advancement can be as it just builds on top of earlier advances. Wasn't it Arthur C. Clarke who said that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. It's way out of my lifetime, unless we have lifespan increasing methods to experience but I wonder what would be available in 3022, assuming we don't regress technologically through some sort of disaster.
Wouldn't this mean these beings are already here? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that these future beings can travel thru time at any point 🧐
What I LOVE of about this series and your channel is you aren't a politcally motivated doomsayer about talking "The planet isn't going to be here due to climate change" with 40 years blah blah blah.
Thank you, Jae. The notion of constantly saying that the world is going to end whenever a skirmish occurs between two nations or injecting politics into every discussion doesn't seem that interesting.
This ain't how it is at all. It's gonna be the same old buildings, perhaps ones that are much higher than now, but bad rust problems and possible mold ones too. That's just a theory, but you should remember that note, buy detergent and cleaning supplies while you have the chance!
Great video, but I have to say I think you're wrong about humans going into space and terraforming Mars or other planets, I think by that stage in human technology evolution we won't need to terraform other planets to survive there, when we can just put our consciousness in a robot/machine or augment our bodies with robotic shells etc, we won't need to breath oxygen or need mild climates etc
I'll make videos about that topic from unique perspectives in the future. For now, there's a section on radical life extension in the "world in 2060" video: bit.ly/34uGxSU.
@@FutureBusinessTech Thank You So Much! Based on Innovations in the Medical Industry I predict life expantncy to be 300-400 years. It may sound crazy right now, but people's paradigms only can allow them to see living 100 or less years at this point in history. I will watch the 2060 video as well. Thank You for your feedback!
Can artificial general intelligence or a supernatural understand human psychology better than any expert in this field? Does he understand the thoughts and feelings that move us, or our biological needs, such as sex?
Feels like to a large extent more like hell rather than paradise, highly intrusive technology and humans no .longer being human. Everything is artificial including food. Technology should be used to help individuals and societies not to turn them into enslave them with corporation's dominating every aspect of human life including their access to food and knowledge.
I'll make videos about that topic from unique perspectives in the future. For now, there's a section on radical life extension in the "world in 2060" video: bit.ly/34uGxSU.
These predictions will not come true, or not the way they are described, and not a such a scale. Travelling beyond low earth orbit will be exceptional at most due to cosmic rays : in reality even the Apollo astronauts remained in low orbit and only maybe a few mutants will be able to sustain the voyages. Preventing glaciers from melting even though the Earth warms, and cooling the hottest natural and urban deserts through revegetation is easier than terraforming Mars. Chances are great actually that nuclear or volcanic winter reverses global warming and if global warming in countered with priority greening of the desert it will stay manageable even with six times present carbon.
Wow… this video shows you how much people are out of touch with Baseball (America’s now legit past time lol)… they state that basketball players will be as good as Lebron James, football players as good as Tom Brady, and baseball players as good as Babe Ruth… wth guys!?? Babe Ruth would be a fat loser with absolutely no chance of playing in the Majors today… I mean, the absolute worst player in the MLB today is still immensely better than Ruth in every facet of the game… Do you know how hilariously insulting it would be for anyone to say “he has the athleticism of Babe Ruth” to a Major League player today!!??? Damn. LoL. The disconnect is real, apparently. 😮
By 2090 Governments will be a thing of the past just like Kings and Queens are today. Countries will be more like regions controlled by powerful corporations. There are already a few peoples alive today who has more wealth than the 10 poorest countries combined! And you already see today how the big tech can restrict your access to your own purchases without you have any say in it. I understand the excitement of many peoples but the mechanism behind this all is ugly.
I never want a fucking disgusting lab grown steak or lab grown meat!!! I refuse to eat that crap!! I will always have my meat from a real animal from a real farm or a real fish from the ocean

I have a question. When will the video on technology in 2100 be posted?

Thanks for this series, it will get a lot of views one day once people realize your predictions are coming true.
Thank you, Brandon! I'm glad you like this video series.
Love the floating cities 👀 I hope they have great waste management 😆
