    Perfect! I love the way you quickly described every aspect of this bag making. You covered all the information without a lot of filler. That makes this video a keeper in my saved videos to come back to again and again.

    I made something similar a few years ago to hold a bottle of wine for a family member. I’ve watched that bag get regifted to several different family members.

    Thanks for the tutorial...I changed the instruction slightly and sewed the lining and fronts together then made a long sausage, marked the casing line before stitching....left opening for turning, and also left a gap at the casing mark each side for the ribbon etc.....

    I just made my first bag watching your tutorial as I went thru the steps. You are so clear and video quality is perfect. I love your teaching style. You made it look easy and didn't add a lot of confusing steps and chatter. I made a large bag to hold a gift.... It looks more like a drawstring pillowcase, but I love how it turned out. Thank you for your teaching video!

    This is one of three methods that I use to make casings. I back stitch and leave a 3/4" not sewn on the outside of the bag when I sew the outsides of the bag together. This way, I do not have to seam rip the opening. It is already open when I sew around for the drawstring casing. Mark down where you want your opening on the outside of the bag before sewing the two sides together and then back stitch at this point. Saves one step at the end.

    • @Whitney_Sews
      @Whitney_Sews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great tip! I have a feeling I would forget to leave the opening each time.

    Great video, Whitney.... Great for kids rooms for small toys or wherever else you need one.... Just seen tutorial where Handmade by Ditsy-Tulip made a drawstring bag too, but Mel (she) put on a picture frame hook (triangle or D shaped hanger hook) on top of bag above drawstring to hang on wall.... Thought that was terrific idea & you having 2 daughters might like the idea yourself...

    Thank you for an EXCELLENT "how to" video. Complete, concise and focused. We didn't have to hear the story about the rude girl in the fabric store, we didn't have to meet your cat, we didn't have to hear you yelling at your kids, we didn't have to wait while you fixed a bobbin jam, no "uh", "OK lemme try that again", "where did I put my....", "did you guys see that squirrel?". Exactly what I needed for my project in just over 6 minutes. Thank you again!
