Thank you for making a VERY easy to follow and short video...... so many times I come in to learn how to do something and don't have to time for ones ramblings............
Exactly what I was looking for. The other videos on drawstring bags didn't have the ribbon/cording in the middle like yours, no lining, and no boxed corners, so this was great.
Easy to follow and fast to make. No need to watch a 45 min. video! I used fuseable fleece to add form and used as a bag for my mom's scooter. Super cute and functional!
I watched this video about 4 times, i just used 4 pieces of fabric, two for the inside, two for the outside but the boxing instructions should were great and my recipient not only loved it, she showed it off to others
Your casing techniques is brilliant!! I want to make 20 small gift bags for thank you gifts and this is the suggestion that will save lots of time. Thank you muchly
Whitney, I have to share with you that I love 💘 your tutorials! So much, that I'm guessing I have gone back to this one about 50 times! When I need a reminder about which goes right side together (lining & outer), for one example, I click on this tutorial for a refresher! Thank you sooo much for creating these tutorials! You've been instrumental in my sewing progression!!!!
I just made this in a smaller size for my story prompt dice. Your tutorial was easy to follow for someone who is a beginner's beginner sewer. Thank you so much.
Your drawstring bags are great. As I mentioned before my sister and I made 20 drawstring bags with one of your patterns for Christmas gifts ......well I can bow say they were a big hit! Thank you again ......now I can make these for my grandchildren and all their toys!!
I've made 2 gift bags using this bag and love the boxed corners which I have never attempted before. I don't however like the casing edges at the sides. In future I will plan the place where the ribbon comes out and have that part open before assembling the rest.
Thanks for this great idea! Going to use extra fabric I have and make one for my granddaughter’s 5th Birthday in a couple of weeks. Will put a gift in it, so will be two gifts in one! Thank you so much!
You really are able to give precise instructions and so easy to follow. Thank you. I have made 5 Santa Sacks for my grandchildren with your instructions just increasing the size. Thank you so much , you r a delight to listen to.. Happy Christmas from Australia.
I love your tutorials! I do not have the best sewing skills and many videos look intimidating...but when you show how it's done I get it! Because of a previous video of yours I sewed my first zipper!! yay! And I will most certainly make these bags, can hardly wait. Thank you for your tutorials!
I followed along with your instruction... did not do the 2 tone but the bag was easy to do.. I love your instructions.. It looks so good and I am very proud of it .. keep up the tutorials .. I need all the help I can get.
Thank you! I made this. It turned out pretty good. Would've been better if I had been more careful measuring and cutting, lol. Great instructions - very concise. Thanks again!
Love the fabric you used. Such fun colors and love the two tone outside. Great tutorial and the possibilities are endless for these bags. Thanks! 🤗🤗💜💜🤗🤗
Love, Love, Love this! Thank you for sharing your talents and ideas. I am sitting in my sewing room, cutting out fabric to make these in multiple colors and sizes.
Hi Whitney, so glad a friend led me to you! I would like to make these as holiday bags reversible to fun fabric for the rest of the year, too! Do you think I can make this bag reversible? How would I be able to operate the ribbon closure from each side? Seam rip both inner and outer fabrics?
This came out super super cute! I love the fabrics you chose! They compliment each other so nicely. Great project for storage or gift giving! Great tutorial as always
Awesome tutorial, thanks, Whitney. I need to make one for my one-cup travel coffee maker for which I have no bag or carrier. When I travel, I'm kinda grossed out by hotel room glasses, mugs, and coffee makers so I bring my own. I think I'll have to add a sturdy, firm bottom so it doesn't sag, though. 👍😀
You could get a flexible chopping mat at the dollar store or something similar and sew a fabric sleeve for it to fit inside and use that for the bottom.
I am excited to try this! I’ve been wanting some packing cubes but I have SO much fabric I need to use, and I thought some flat bottom drawstring bags may do the trick 👍 Thank you for the tutorial 💛
Thanks for a great video. As a beginner, can I ask how you sew the casings without sewing one side of the bag to the other? I cant picture how to do on that the machine
So if I dont want contrasting color on outside of bag and have it one piece it would be 14 by 16.5 right so means its half inch longer than the lining? Wanna make this bigger too

I've made a few of these bags thanks to this great tutorial. Makes great strong bags - thank you for sharing :-)

What are your measurements for the smaller bag you made?
I want one similar to carry my wrapped candy mints.

Love, Love, Love this! Thank you for sharing your talents and ideas. I am sitting in my sewing room, cutting out fabric to make these in multiple colors and sizes.
How are you doing?
Great tutorial! I would just like to add that you can cut the triangles off when you make the boxed corners to reduce bulk. Love your videos!
I cut them off sometimes, but depending on what I use the bag for I will sometimes leave them for a bit of extra support.
Oh good point, I haven't tried leaving them on but I can see how that would add some structure.
So cute! I'm gonna make this in a bigger version for clothes! Thank you!
Hi I’m a beginner , love the way u describe .. short n sweet 👍🏽 n very clear instructions . Thank you so much 😊
Hello Deepika how are you doing?

How are you doing?
Whitney I love this tutorial and I’ve made a few of these. But how would I measure to make a long narrow bag? Like for a wine bottle. Can you help ?
Thank you for this video!! Im going to make this for my Nieces barbie clothes
Hello Connie 👋
Awesome tutorial, thanks, Whitney. I need to make one for my one-cup travel coffee maker for which I have no bag or carrier. When I travel, I'm kinda grossed out by hotel room glasses, mugs, and coffee makers so I bring my own.

Genius! Thanks for sharing!
I was just going to suggest the same!
Just beautiful! 💕
I love this! Blessings all!!!!! 💜💜

Thank You, Whitney. Very helpful video.

Very good 🌸
Thank you for sharing I love it
I like your method, it seems faster than sewing the channel in one of the first steps. I'm definitely going to give this a try soon. Thanks!
Hello Amy 👋 how are you doing?
Oh love your tutorial thank you 😊 just made my first bag x
How are you doing?
nice bag
Great tutorial!, thank you, keep up the good work! :)
Is there a way to attach the lining instead of leaving it hanging
I Love this!!!
How are you doing hope you're having a wonderful day?
Loved the easy instructions. Tried to find size for larger bag but could not find it. Would you kindly post it please
I only have measurements for one size and they are listed in the video.
Thanks for a great video. As a beginner, can I ask how you sew the casings without sewing one side of the bag to the other? I cant picture how to do on that the machine
Just push one layer over to the side so it is out of the way.
@@Whitney_Sews just learned about the free arm from another video so I'm good to go
Could you do a button hole vs seam ripping?
Probably, but it would have to be added before the lining and at exactly the right location for the finished bag.
So if I dont want contrasting color on outside of bag and have it one piece it would be 14 by 16.5 right so means its half inch longer than the lining? Wanna make this bigger too
You would just cut the outer fabric the same size as the lining.
How are you doing hope you're having a wonderful day?
So cute👍
This has really helped me thank you x
