    I bought the Blade 100L and the Clash 100 Pro. Getting back into the game after 36 years. The Blade is much stiffer and kills my old arm with mishits. The Clash is much more forgiving. I like them both.

    Love the Pro Staff 97 v14. Have played both that and the Blade (v8) and don’t feel the Pro Staff is noticeably harder to use but does feel more responsive without being harsh on the arm.

      Interesting - for sure if you don’t find the PS harder than a Blade, then it’s most likely the racket for you!

    97L. I thought I was the only person who thought that. Is 97L stiffer and thicker? I like the easier power. Also, I didn’t like the head light balance of the regular 97. So I lead up the hoop of 97L and it’s even balanced. what do you think of that?

    Blade V8 is still the better choice than the V9! Better handling, movability, stability and spin! At least for me in the 100 version.

      Agree on the feel element, but the v9 certainly is better in the power stakes! All depends what your into… Josh

    how is the paint on those bronzey pro-staffs? i got the 6.1 100 and the paint falls off if you look at it crooked. Every time i take it out of my Wilson racket bag there are more chunks of paint missing.

    Did. you have the Chance to Test the Blade 100l? I am a female sportive intermediate player trying to find her new racket of Choice. Currently testing Blade 100l and Yonex ezone 100l. Any opinion on those two? Or any other rackets you would advise to consider at my Level?
    How do I know if 285 or 300g is better for me?
    Thanks so much for your insights, much appreciated!

      Hi - great questions.
      On racket weight, id say you want to use the heaviest racket you can. And by can, I mean manoeuvre, accelerate and swing freely.
      Most female players would use a 285g - some increasing towards 300g and others dropping towards 260g.
      On those 2 particular frames - the ezone is certainly more powerful and spiny, the blade more control and feel. But these differences are certainly subtle and depend on your play style.
      There are other rackets to consider, but again would depend on your play style.
      If you were looking for more power for example - maybe a Pure Drive Team would be worth trying!
      It’s great that you’re testing them, this is the only way to really know… if you let us know how you find them, we can suggest others to try!
      Josh

      Thanks Josh 🙏. I have decided to go with 285 g. But I am incapabale to choose between them. Love Both. On serve I generate the Same power with Both. And forehand backhand vary with Both from day to day. When I Play against stronger Player yonex Great, against Players whose balls dont generate Speed Blade is easier 🙈. And slice cant say cause havent leaerned it yet. Any further tips/advise how to make my Choice?

      Work on control first, power comes later!Wilson blade V8 is a good choice.Excelent control,good spin,and power.Mid range weight,very comfortable on your arm! A lighter racket would have less control,and would vibrate more,so won't be as comfortable!?Good luck!

    Josh I am a 13 year old player but I have to choose between the wilson blade 98 16x19 and the pro staff v14 97L

    • @ph-tennis
      @ph-tennis  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi - at that age I would probably suggest going with the PS 97L - just for the weight being that bit less!
      Hard to know without seeing your stature or your level but that’s what I would suggest!

    My List:
    #1 Pro Staff 97 V13 (315g) Night Session or Earth Day Edition (love the look of these 2)
    #2 Pro Staff 97L V13 (290g) - easier to use as the 315g Version, so better for beginners, but the 315 is more solid and just more precise and "crispy". My Backup raquet if i got a bad day and be late at the Ball all day or got minor arm issues.
    #3 Pro Staff 97RF V13 (340g) - Just the Best Racket, i love to hit with it and the Ball just gets out perfectly exact where you want it if you hit the sweet Spot. But sadly to heavy for my arm when it comes to longer term playing. After 1 Hour Playing often it starts hurting in my elbow - especially if you have a bad day and dont hit clean shots. This Raquet ist absolute not forgiving anything. So i sadly had too switch back to the 315g. If i could play it longer it would be my #1. So i sometimes play it for fun a short period, but a Raquet i cant play all day long cant be #1.
    #4 Blade 98S 16x18 (294g) Bold Edition - close to the pro staff from the feeling but higher launch angle
    #5 Blade 98 V8 - liked it, more power than the 98S but less precise (in my opinion)
    Note: I haven´t testet the Blade V9 and the PS V14, but the Clash, Shift, Ultra but all these are not my raquets

      All great rackets - guess you’ll be excited for the new RF97 coming soon…
      And I’m also a big fan of the limited edition Colour picks you went with!

    Josh, you can only choose one V9 16x19 or V Core 98?

    • @ph-tennis
      @ph-tennis  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats a tough one - Indoors or summers day or quick court surface… I’d go Blade.
      Winter, heavy balls, cold or slow surface would go Vcore….

    Everytime everybody is showing me on these videos that I made wrong purchasing Wilson Ultra V4, that racket is powerful but sends the ball flying sad thing is I dont find anybody else playing witj it :( im currently thinking on changing it for a Blade 98 or the RF01

    Where does the Hyper Hammer 5.3 110 fall in?

  • @roypeterka
    @roypeterka 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I would put the Blade 98 16x19 at #1 as well. The V9 is marginally more powerful than the V8 with the same swingweight but the V8 fees much softer. I had to get away from the Clash 98 v2 as it gave me tennis elbow, even though I thought it was comfortable.

    • @ph-tennis
      @ph-tennis  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you agree! That’s unusual about the Clash, it’s the most comfortable in the range - what string did you have in it?

      @@ph-tennis I used Technifibre 4S (1.20) in the mains with X-One in the crosses. 49lbs in the mains and 54 in the crosses. I thought it couldn’t be the racquet but as soon as I switched I was good. And I used the same string setup in the new racquets.

    You found the Shift Pro underpowered compared to the 305? Huh. I actually think it packs a lot of punch. Both great rackets.

      Agree they are both nice frames - but yes left me wanting slightly more in the power stakes. Josh

    Anybody can tell me what the “Ls” and “uls” in the names of Wilson rackets means??

    • @ph-tennis
      @ph-tennis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      L = Light
      S = Spin (different string pattern)
      U = Ultra
      So ULS= Ultra Light Spin
