My husband and I have loved Van Morrison since we were very young!! A special song for us is Brown Eyed Girl. He has blue eyes and I have dark brown. So he'd call me his brown eyed girl. When we are sad or worried we listen to Hymns for the Silence. Thanks Mr Morrison for years of love, joy and peace which we have found together in your music!!

I recommend "Wild Night" for your next Van Morrison song. It's one of his more rocking songs. "Domino" is anther one that you should hear at some point.
This song is my favorite Van song, and that is saying something because his catalog is so deep and amazing. He is a poet and a soul singer. Amaze balls!
'Bright side of the road' is a great upbeat tune by Van as a suggestion, as well as his most popular 'Have I told you lately. According to an interview, you'll never guess who he wrote it about. Keep up the great reactions.
This is not 'just' a beautiful love song. The way the lyrics are delivered, accompanied by the perfect music, this sounds so respectful. Van is The Man!
I've said it before, but Van Morrison is a world treasure. I don't think I've ever heard a bad VM song. Others to check out: my absolute favorite is St. Dominic's Preview. Others: Jackie Wilson Said, Cleaning Windows (his funkiest song!), Domino, Have I Told You Lately, And It Stoned Me, Wild Night, and Whenever God Shines His Light. There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this song. Van Morrison is known as the Belfast Cowboy. He has a smooth, soulful delivery that just gets to you, no matter what he's singing. Not only is his voice perfect for this song, but the instrumentation is equally nice. Just one of those great productions that are simple, but moving.
This is wonderful. I love the soul and the sweetness together. When I need to hear Van I often play "Crazy Love." It is my favorite. It can make me sad or happy; the emotion is palpable. The production is simply orchestrated, but the bass line is killer.
Honestly, what's left to say about Van Morrison, that hasn't been said before? Ok, he's wonderful. He's in his mid 70s these days, and still performs occasionally. So darn talented.
Adjectives like luxurious, opulent and majestic describe this song. Unlike some vocalists who waste no opportunity to show off their pipes, Van Morrison has always utilized his fabulous voice simply as just another instrument in the composition. Each as important as the next.
Great reaction to this wonderful song. This is my favorite song by Van ever since I first heard it back in 1971 brings back many fond memories listening to it. It's a probably one of the best love songs ever recorded. His voice is so expressive and his vocal delivery hypnotic and the music perfection. No one's like him!

Sir George Ivan Morrison, OBE, knighted by the Prince of Wales in 2016 for his services to music in Northern Ireland. A cantankerous old git, but for those of us who grew up in the 70's his music will live forever in our hearts. "Sweet Thing" from the album Astral Weeks is one of my faves.
Tupelo honey is produced when honeybees collect nectar from the blossoms of the white Ogeechee tupelo (Nyssa ogeche) tree. These trees are distributed along the borders of rivers, swamps, and ponds that are frequently inundated, mainly in the remote wetlands of Georgia and Florida.

There’s a lot of great Van Morrison songs out there. The one that always hits me is Sweet Thing. So underrated, doesn’t get anywhere near the attention it deserves.
A friend of mine was Van and the band's pilot for many years. Obviously, there's a lot of waiting around. The band bought a saxophone for my friend and taught him to play. Tupelo was where Elvis came from. Van Morrison's old band Them was brilliant in the 60's - check out Baby Please Don't Go, or Gloria.
Another great Van duet is with the amazing Cliff Richard doing Whenever God Shines His Light. Van has an extremely spiritual side and often includes songs that reflect this. He did an entire album called Hymns To The Silence which will touch whether you are religious or not.
